Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel García-Margallo has long been a vocal critic of Gibraltar’s competitive tax framework, denouncing the Rock as “a tax haven” despite its recognised compliance with international standards set by the EU and the OECD, among others. Read full article

    TWIMC….:

The Leaders of Gibraltar, Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Montserrat and Turks & Caicos Islands say…:

@1, 3 Oh, what a Twit. So easy to refute the crap you come out with. Although, “lies” is more appropriate than “crap”.

Little excerpt from the OECD: “New legislation in major financial centres such as Hong Kong and Singapore enables them to implement the standards as well. Of the more than 40 offshore financial centres identified as tax havens in 2000 all but six now have one or more agreements which meet the standards”
Then there's the progress report: http://www.oecd.org/ctp/harmful/43606256.pdf

In the section headed “Jurisdictions that have substantially implemented the internationally agreed tax standard” you can find Gibraltar, Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Montserrat, Turks & Caicos Islands.

That's a shame for you, isn't it? Remind me to find out whether someone who intentionally puts false information in the public domain is committing a crime? Defamatory comments can certainly be viewed as a subject suitable for a civil law suit.

    Chuckle chuckle..............

Maybe you'll get let off. Education isn't your strong point, is it?

Typical RG tactic to change the story as quickly as possible if it isn't a convenient theme. The story is about Margallo's double standards and lack of credibility. Not so surprising, but nice to have it in the public domain. Now then, are Ceuta and Melilla colonial enclaves/relics or legitimate parts of Spain in Morocco ? Answers on a postcard to Sr Think, anywhere miles away from the reality of Argentina.

    @3 Think,
How could we not notice them, Think?
As you spelled out their names in Capital Letters.
That is willful discrimination, Think old bean.
One would almost get the impression that you don't like us?
But you DO like us really, don't you dahling?
Just a wee bit jealous, thats all.

    (6) Isolde, my favourite South-Atlantic Island Expat Pomette...

Do you have any comments about this recent article in the Guardian…?:
    http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2013/sep/11/ascension-island-population-cut-uk-government
”Since 2006, in response to questions about the rights of islanders, ministers have insisted that “there is no indigenous population, or 'Islanders'”, Wells said: “On Ascension, everyone is an expat, present by virtue of an employment contract.”

I ask you because there were no comments in this MercoPress article of 2007….:
    http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2013/sep/11/ascension-island-population-cut-uk-government

I ask you because there were no comments either in this MercoPress article of 2002….:
    http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2013/sep/11/ascension-island-population-cut-uk-government

I ask you because the faith of the Ascension Islanders and the Kelpers is in the hand of the same haughty English Government ….

    Ps…:
The imression you should get, dahling is that I do dislike double talking, double crossing Englishmen (and women;-)

Just look. Around 4 hours and Twinky couldn't find an “answer”. No “Turnip” comments from the “Pea” brain. Regrettably, the argie educational system is pretty poor. Demonstrably, poor mathematics (should that be arithmetic?), poor history and now poor language. “Pee” brains. Piss brains. Is there anything, anywhere in argieland that isn't shit? Well, there are a few. Twinky isn't one of them. He's a smartass, fart-ass. Trouble is that he comes out with shite that HAS to be refuted. But perhaps every honest person should report every Twinky “comment” as abuse. After all, he doesn't have the guts to enter an exchange with someone immeasurably more intelligent.

Hello thinking. No because it's in the hands of the island inhabitants. Under our law they are entitled to an opinion and vote on what future they decide. It is not decided for then as you would prefer it to be. Can you also advise is what relevance your statement has in regard to the article

    @7 Think,
l rarely read the Guardian, cher Think.
l consider it to be a red-ragging communist newspaper printed for self-loathing left wing tree hugging hate-your-own-country, mentally disturbed lost souls.
Occasionally l might look at SOME of what it oozes out, merely to see what devilment the “abandoned ones” are cooking up.
lts such a bother, as l then have to be purified.
As for “haughty”, well Think, that would be the Argentine government & you.

Dodging the inconvenient facts, as the good female you are, huhhhhhhhhhhhhhh?

Maybe the “St. Helena Online” is less of a “red-ragging communist newspaper printed for self-loathing left wing tree hugging hate-your-own-country, mentally disturbed lost souls” and more suitable to your “delicate feelings”……

Ascension? Tut tut, off topic again! Consider yourself barred from this thread.

Yep, Margallo has no creditability and as mentioned: “Do as I say, not as I do”

@10 ”Corrigendum to my post No.(10)..:“ The ”post“ that you're just writing. Is there some reason you can't differentiate between ”7“ and ”10“? Thought of renaming yourself ”Twat_Twinky”?
@13 And the relevance of something on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean?
Here's a thought. Do something useful.
