Argentina and Spain agreed on Thursday to team up to pressure Britain to discuss their separate claims on British territories: the Falklands in the south Atlantic and Gibraltar near the southern tip of Spain. Read full article
About as much pressure as a feather gently drifting down and delicately brushing against a dandelion clock, yet disturbing nary a singe seed... Or to put it less poetically, a pair of sad, impotent, bankrupt, corrupt crapholes who can do sweet F.A.
countries coming together in an effort to put an end to colonialism. its encouraging to see that some nations take the UN and its numerous resolutions on non-self-governing territories seriously. in fact, its encouraging to see that some nations take the UN seriously full stop; since we still witness how powerful countries which enjoy a privilege position within the organisation and ought to set the example abuse their power whilst preaching one thing and doing another.
Spain & Argentina team up against.....Human Rights that are enshrined in the UN Charter to which both are signatories......

countries coming together in an effort to put an end to colonialism
By being colonialist/Imperialist themselves.
Decolonisation according to the UN, is moving non self governing territories to independence, not towards an Imperial takeover from another colonialist power.
some nations take the UN and its numerous resolutions on non-self-governing territories seriously
Unlike Argentina who ignored UN resolution 502 in 1982 and still don't understand the simple wording of 2065.
They agreed on joint measures to press Great Britain to comply with the mandate from the United Nations to dialogue”
Such as spinning the same lies on history , but not going to the ICJ.
@9 and 16 we have two people that would not know colonialism if they were sitting on a continent their ancestors invaded, swamping/exterminating the locals.
Argentina is a fake country invented by fake South Americans, and if Gibraltar is colonialism then so is the Spanish occupation of the emirate of Malaga.
@9:
The problem with the UN is the UNSC didn't follow up the smashing of fascists in Germany and Italy by smashing the fascists in Spain and Argentina. The you might have evolved to something other than retarded scum.
Trolls....News today Spain denies any such pact way made with Tinnerman regarding ganging up on the UK. More lies from the ministry of tinhead propaganda jajajajajaja
@22
I think we're already used to certain Argentines violating good manners and hospitality to make fatuous political statements at a place of mourning.
It's like Spain are just testing how much they can get away with without pushing their luck. Getting the dumb Argentines to make their statements and then, knowing full well they are known world-wide for peddling lies, deny all knowledge.
I can see an example being made of Spain in the near future.

Argentina flag in Argentine territoy. To get used, miserable pirates.
So according to poor José, if a few Brits sneak out into the bush in Argentina and wave a Union Jack, Argentina becomes British? poor José shows us what iodine deficiency can cause. Cretinism is a real risk.
In many respects the UN is the best place for Argentina/Spain to make their statements, they may not realise it (believing their own bullshit probably), but the UN position is clear, confirmed by Ban-Ki Moon on many occasions now, both territories have the right to self-determination.
As for the mantra of territorial integrity overruling self-determination, well it didn’t in South Sudan, or Kosovo, or any of the former Yugoslav republics, nor with Eritrea before that. In fact every new country in the world for the last few decades has come into existence on the basis of self-determination overruling territorial integrity.
Argentina cannot even make the case that it is a violation of their territorial integrity, as they cannot even establish that the Islands have ever legitimately been administered by, or formed part of, the sovereign territory of the Republic of Argentina.
Let them make noise at the UN, the only people who will listen would listen whatever they said, for reasons of their own.
No liberal democracy on the planet is going to support the Argy/Spanish position that the inhabitants of the territories have no rights in this, or indeed do not have the right to self-determination.
It will be amusing to watch them find out the hard way.
