The Falkland Islands joined the thousands of well-wishers supporting Argentine president Cristina Fernandez who is facing a complicated medical condition and on Tuesday will undergo surgery to extract a blood clot in the cranium. Read full article

My grandmother used to say that in the mouth of a liar right is doubtful.
So, I do not believe in absolute what has been officially declared about CFK. This would not be the first time that non-existent disease is stated with political objectives.
I think it's an invention, or exaggeration, for political advantages as not to be seen as the captain of defeat in the next elections, to disappear from the political scene for a few months, depending on the outcome decice about her politival future. Iy is also a way of not to take over the economic disaster she caused and let it be inherited by another government.

l don't see a problem with calling her a bitch.
What would you call someone who calls you a squatter or a thief?,
Who lies to the world about us & our land,
Who wants to steal our land & dispossess us of our rights,
Who would invade us again tomorrow if the UK Forces left,
Who encourages her subjects to insult us at every turn,
Who tries to blockade us,
etc etc etc,
Yes, bitch will do nicely.
She is a bitch
and finally I agree with A-hole...she is now a sick bitch
However, I wish her a full and speedy recovery and a third term in office. her brand of madness ensures nobody ever takes the malvinas cause seriously...
That was Lisa's personal opinion of your elected President. In the free world an individual is allowed to express their opinion publicly without repercussion.
Your personal opinion regarding the Falkland Islanders not being eligible to exercise self-determination and determine their own political future is far more insulting than being called a 'bitch', but yet you are not ashamed of having such an opinion, in fact you are proud of it. So there we go....
Sorry Christina but your, 'they have no rights, they are just squatters,' remarks about Falkland Islanders no longer cuts any ice. The International Courts of Justice offered Advisory Opinion as far back as 21st June 1971 and said,
(para 52)
'Furthermore, the subsequent development of International Law in regard to non-self-governing territories, as enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, made the principle of self-determination applicable to all of them.'
I don't think the British deny much about their history at all, some good, some bad. On balance, the good (industrial revolution, developments in medicine and science, technology etc, fighting fascism) outweighs the bad (pointless wars, parts of the empire, some of the stuff you like to throw).
However, Argentina has only bad. Genocidal colonialism as Spanish, more genocidal colonialism as Argentina, cowardice, harbouring Nazis, Peronist corruption, dirty wars, nuns from planes, Falklands invasion and illegal minefields, massive default, Kirchnerist corruption and lies...against all the good stuff Argentina or Argentines have done....errr...erm....err......nope....not a sausage...nothing, not a thing....
If its Maximo, no chance- but that's good because if Argentina won't talk to the islanders, they can't persuade them 'to join'- if Argentina were sensible they would make money from the Islands by trade.
There are more ways to benefit from Falklands oil than by directly drilling it, which Argentina can't work out.
You misunderstand the difference between the Argentine Government and Argentina.
What is best for the Argentina government and best for Argentina are two completely different things.
Best for Argentina is undoubtably to forget this Malvinas nonsense, start to trade and benefit from the islands, possibly even a gas pipeline, sort themselves out and maximise their enormous potential.
Best for the Argentine government is to continue the monumental corruption, continue thieving from decent Argentines, and remain populist by pretending to look strong on the international scene by spouting rhetoric and propaganda to hand-pick friendly international audiences....

Who lies to the world about us & our land,
Who wants to steal our land & dispossess us of our rights,
Who would invade us tomorrow (for the fifth time) if they just could,
Who encourages anybody to insult us at every turn,
etc etc etc,
Yes, “Chère” will do nicely.
@ Think, You old son of a rattle snake remind us all where you live again and personally calling SS Kirchner a bitch is mild compared to what she really is.
@54 Think
Who lies to the world about us & our land,
Come on then give us an example of these lies.
Who wants to steal our land & dispossess us of our rights,
Are you speaking for the Falklands here?
”Who would invade us tomorrow (for the fifth time) if they just could,
You seem to think that people are far more interested in your country than they actually are.
Who encourages anybody to insult us at every turn”
Most people don't need much encouragement.
Think,
You not only are wrong, you know that you are wrong.
lts our land & not yours(& you're not going to get it)& you know that you're not going to get it.
Does that hurt, my little munchkin?
My little apfelstrudel?
l hope so.
lt may teach your country to keep its lying, thieving hands to itself.
Actually, l'm bored.
Please Argentina, start something, so we can slap you down again.
Bitch, is far, far too nice for the thing.
Please try to be more original, Think.
Don't just copy(& twist)everything that l say.
(59) lsolde
I'm right............ and you know that I'm right.
It's Argie land, not English (& we're going to get it back, eventually)
Nothing personal..................... is just like a Bank reposessing a house....
Besides dahling......., Apfelstrudel is spelled with a capital A, my little Schwartszwälder Kirschtorte...
Of course you are bored!!!.......... You live in Malvinas, remember??? ;-)
@60 Think,
You are all so misinformed, my dear Think.
You cannot get back something that you never owned.
Argentina, as we all know, has NEVER owned the Falklands.
So even if you somehow conquered us, you would not be getting the Falklands back.
All this is academic anyway as we would have on our farm, pigs with wings before we were ever slaves of the Argentines.
And as l said, you are not very original, dear Thinkus.
Cannot you think up your own lines, Cher Think?
Hasn't your handler been properly educated?
Even if apfelstrudel is in the middle of a sentence, it is written with a capital?
Porqué? my little gravy dumpling?
btw- l don't live in this malvinas place, where ever that may be.
Cannot find it on a map.
Did you mean perhaps, the Maldives?
l've been there but l don't live there & now l'm not bored anymore when l can cross swords with you.
En garde!
Steady on there...... feel sorry for poor Think-me-not. No matter which he chooses, he is still wrong!!!
This malvinas of which many an Argentine speaks of, you don't suppose its a heaven where the souls of dead Argentines go?? you know, like Val Halla ( excuse the spelling ) or something like that?
(62) dab14763....., our English teacher from Peru.........
You say...:
There's no obligation to capitalise common nouns of German origin in English texts, except at the beginning of a sentence.
I say...:
Opinions about the above are diverse.........I fancy this one...:
If youThink your readers might misinterpret the terms then you can lowercase them, of course, the only thing is that readers familiar with German might think your command of the language is poor, plus you wouldn't be able to cite an authority to back you up..... http://www.toytowngermany.com/lofi/index.php/t227464.html
@53
Good correction Monkey magic-I should have said which the Argentine government can't work out.
I am sure there are in fact, many Argentines with common sense who have worked the following out, (well to be honest a 10 year old kid could).
If .......... (hypothetically, as CFK has done her best to ensure Argentina can't touch anything), the money from Falklands oil (when it arrives )............. is spent in Argentina on goods, services or wages of Argentines working in the Islands etc), effectively the Argentines would be making money out of the oil without having to actually have the hassle of the expensive exploration investment and work drilling for it.
The Argentine government itself ,instead does what you say and grants itself an economic death wish.
So the oil money will instead, probably fund services, fund workers and buy products from the UK, Chile and possibly other South American countries, who while still backing Argentina's claim will be profiting from the Islands regardless.
Also, I bet the Islands will not only end up with one deep water port, but two, which will compete with Southern Argentina for shipping trade.
This competition or the potential for it, could have been totally eliminated if the Argentines had offered the islands port and refining facilities, thus the islands might not have needed a deep water port. Or outside exploration and facilities. Or British and Norwegian oil workers, etc etc etc etc. Now, the islanders don't need Argentina. At all.
Now, the Argentine government's King (or Queen) Canute watch transfixed as the rising tide comes in to drown them.
The Malvanistas couldn't work this out in a 1000 years.

Oct 10th, 2013 - 05:48 pm - Link - Report abuse 0What would you call someone who is a “Squatterette”?,
Who lies to the world about us & our land,
Who wants to steal our land & dispossess us of our rights,
Who would invade us tomorrow (for the fifth time) if they just could,
Who encourages anybody to insult us at every turn,
etc etc etc,
Yes, “Chère” will do nicely.
@ Think, You old son of a rattle snake remind us all where you live again and personally calling SS Kirchner a bitch is mild compared to what she really is.

Oct 11th, 2013 - 08:31 am - Link - Report abuse 0Who lies to the world about us & our land,
Come on then give us an example of these lies.
Think,
Oct 11th, 2013 - 09:14 am - Link - Report abuse 0You not only are wrong, you know that you are wrong.
lts our land & not yours(& you're not going to get it)& you know that you're not going to get it.

Oct 11th, 2013 - 05:23 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I'm right............ and you know that I'm right.
You live in Malvinas, remember??? ;-)
@60 Think,
Oct 11th, 2013 - 08:17 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You are all so misinformed, my dear Think.
En garde!
'Apfelstrudel is spelled with a capital “A”, '....

This malvinas of which many an Argentine speaks of, you don't suppose its a heaven where the souls of dead Argentines go?? you know, like Val Halla ( excuse the spelling ) or something like that?

I say...:
Opinions about the above are diverse.........I fancy this one...:
If youThink your readers might misinterpret the terms then you can lowercase them, of course, the only thing is that readers familiar with German might think your command of the language is poor, plus you wouldn't be able to cite an authority to back you up.....

Oct 12th, 2013 - 09:00 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Good correction Monkey magic-I should have said which the Argentine government can't work out.
