Higgs boson or ‘God particle’ theorists take the Nobel Prize in Physics

Two scientists have won the Nobel Prize in physics for their work on the theory of the Higgs boson: Peter Higgs, from the UK, and Francois Englert from Belgium, share the prize. In the 1960s, they were among several physicists who proposed a mechanism to explain why the most basic building blocks of the Universe have mass. Read full article

    If the Mercopress sub-editor takes time out to read about the research for the Higgs boson, he will perhaps understand that the word 'guess' has no place in scientific research.

    @1 the approriate term is Scientific Wild-Ass Guess (SWAG), of which this isn't one. That said, according to Lexx, shouldn't we all be dead now?

    Perhaps, as a Nobel prize winner, Professor Higgs will feel inclined to write to CFK and tell her to keep her thieving hands off British territory. Or lose them!
