Spain has been warned about the conduct of its law enforcement authorities in a new Council of Europe report. “Ill-treatment by and impunity of members of law enforcement agencies is a very serious, long-standing human rights issue for which Spain has already been condemned by international bodies” reads the study. Oct 13th, 2013 - 12:00 pm - Link - Report abuse 0There are many known Spanish human rights violations. Spanish state, and other, vessels invading British Gibraltar Territorial Waters is one. Note that Spanish poaching vessels steal food from British Gibraltar Territorial Waters! Shooting at Gibraltar citizens legally using their own waters is another. Forcing citizens of any country to wait for 5, 6 or 7 hours in sweltering heat is another. Inciting racial hatred is another. Spain has much to answer for! And, eventually, it will!

(EU) Commissioner Mulznieks also urges the authorities to “vigorously counter ethnic profiling practices, which notably target and stigmatise migrants in stop-and-search operations.”
Oct 13th, 2013 - 01:23 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Yup, England/Wales had to stop the 'Sus' stop & search for the same reason. But the crime figures still show heavy statistical bias.
Drugs, gangs, terrorism, knives, guns, people-traffiking, laundering: with globalised crime come the races that bias the statistics.
I don't blame the police when they follow where the statistics take them;
I just wish they would be more efficient at removing transgressors ...
without destroying the City and the white-collar industries of the world, of course (wry).
Who can believe the Spaniards have been naughty boys and girls?
Oct 13th, 2013 - 05:22 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Ha, ha, ha.
But the day of reckoning is coming.
Why should Spain do anything less?
Oct 13th, 2013 - 06:21 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Look at CFK they ignore everything, and do sod all,
And gets welcoming tea at the UN,
So why should Spain play ball,
You let one get away with it,
You let em all get away with it,
Still,

What can one do?

Maybe Madrid will be furious at the Council of Europes lack of respect towards Spanish Law Enforcement Agencies.

PMSL
Another organisation that can´t find its arse with two hands.....who pays the wages of these wankers!!!
Oct 13th, 2013 - 10:31 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The Spaniards will take no notice as always!! Don’t know why they call spain a democracy when politicians elect judges and spread them between the political parties to keep each other happy. No separation of powers in spain. Politicians control everything, media, businesses – they have their ways of applying pressure. Worse than the franco days. Franco never pretended to be a democrat but his disciples do. Pathetic. Don’t know who they’re trying to kid. Only themselves. All structures of spain full of corruption and fraudsters are pardoned. Yuk.
