Argentine President Cristina Fernandez reappeared Monday in a video for the first time since the October 8 cranium surgery to remove blood clots. Very much in control of the situation and specially impressive for the occasion the Argentine leader reopened her Twitter and with a first message in 45 days that said: “Hi, how are all of you?” Read full article

Disclaimer & comment rulesNice penguin: a souvenir from the Falklands? Well it's been sent by a well-wisher so probably not, but you never know.
Nov 19th, 2013 - 07:53 am - Link - Report abuse 0One character in that photo is absolutely barking, and it isn't the dog.
Nov 19th, 2013 - 08:06 am - Link - Report abuse 0Naming a dog after a revolutionary? She really is absolutely fanatical isn't she, was the blood clot lying amongst sawdust and broken cogs?
How am I? The better for seeing lovely Cristinita back and looking so well =)
Nov 19th, 2013 - 09:21 am - Link - Report abuse 0I wonder if she has forgotten she ever had a husband ? She certainly behaves that way .
Nov 19th, 2013 - 09:34 am - Link - Report abuse 0A very difficult time. which involved the removal of two blood clots near her brain. Haven't seen Timmy the tonk for a while and Lobo the loon is off to Europe. There's the two clots. But if they were near her brain, how did anyone know where to look? Notice how the dog looks? It's something like I know but she whined until I brought her. And she's bigger than me. And she talks, and talks, and talks and..... Never mind, I'm going to have a crap in a minute. Then I expect she'll want me to go outside. Probably through that window!
Nov 19th, 2013 - 10:15 am - Link - Report abuse 0So now when she says to Congress Simon says .. do this! ... Do that! they won't know whether the instruction comes from the skeleton or the dog.
Nov 19th, 2013 - 10:36 am - Link - Report abuse 0She had some cosmetic surgery done. It appears that they couldn't address the same creepy powder yellow face.
Nov 19th, 2013 - 12:42 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I find the above photo fascinating. Everything is so artfully posed. Including the tilt of her head. There may be life in the old girl yet.
Nov 19th, 2013 - 01:19 pm - Link - Report abuse 01 penguin is making a funny 'ticking' noise for some reason...
Nov 19th, 2013 - 01:55 pm - Link - Report abuse 04) Cristina during her mourning had a teenage crush on Roger Federer...

A few weeks off the booze has done her good.
Nov 19th, 2013 - 02:16 pm - Link - Report abuse 0ONLY GOD KNOWS.
Nov 19th, 2013 - 02:42 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I'm very glad to see her again after her licence, actually i have always been very worried about her health, and specially since she had her surgery, in fact, only god knows how much i have prayed for that woman, thats' why i'm happy to see her radiant again.
On the other hand, yesterday was a bad day for all those misserable people from the mainland, and from this forum, who wished her to die, sorry cretins but your candle didn't work.
Beside, it's really great to see that our society didn't buy finally the distorted analysis of some media corporations(clarin group, journal la nación, and perfil which pretended to make people believe that the country was going through an incertitude situation, when actually objetive facts showed that she had a surgery and a licence, like any other human being, vicepresident boudou replaced her without any problem, beside, during her licence were taken very important decisions, like the nationalization of sarmiento rail ways, and the agreement got with some corporations which litigated against argentina at the ciadi.
It makes me happy to see that beyond the differences of opinions that i have with many people, most them didn't believe finally the false catastrophic situation that some powerful groups tried to make people believe.

Nov 19th, 2013 - 02:50 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It's rather sweet. Also rather expensively shot. Very slick.
ohhh nooooo...she is back !!!!!!
Nov 19th, 2013 - 03:11 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Look at her, she wanted to look as a teenager...she looks so sweet....but she is a paranoid and kleptomaniac old woman. Anyway surgery makes miracles nowadays but cannot fix a stupid brain.
By the way I would NOT like to be her pet. Imagine.....any inconvinience she has and you can end your life kicked and stamped against the wall !!!!
Let's imagine, just for one second, that she had her brain changed and starts giving back all the money she has stolen.
I'd reward that dog with the biggest steak I could find if it left a large brown 'present' on her lap.
Nov 19th, 2013 - 03:15 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Nice plastic surgery - and we all know that, that's the reason why she was absent....

The picture on her face when he left looked like she had just pissed herself.
However, just look at the competition she is up against and all just under FORTY YEARS YOUNGER!

Will this be a new, improved MBOA?
Ha, ha, ha, PMSL.
Well, she is at least a pretty old hag.

Nov 19th, 2013 - 05:48 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Is there any way that they could make a more false photograph...?
The article begins: Very much in control of the situation...
Nov 19th, 2013 - 05:52 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Obviously, the journalist who wrote this didn't listen what she said - the video a load of nonsense from beginning to end. Simon, the dog, sounded intelligent in comparison and he never uttered a sound.
Among other things, she told us that the penguin was sent to her by a young man who was born in 1993 and didn't believe in anything (are baby's born believing?) and who started to believe and became a militant. You would think she was talking about a Church and not about herself ...
@12 Think you're under a misapprehension, axel. GOD doesn't come into it. The appropriate deity is Beelzebub. Isn't your salary a little low to be thinking CFK is wonderful? 5,000 ARS a month (about £500) is not a lot. In the UK, a proper teacher would be earning around five times that. Give your situation a little time. Your country is desperately paddling upstream. Just watch the case in the New York courts. Just watch as your country starts to get its come-uppance. Still, only US$1.33 billion, right? Ever been to a proper country, axel? As of now, there aren't any proper countries in latam. Although I'd like to believe that Chile and Colombia are trying. You have many years of poverty ahead, axel. Maybe, one day, you'll be able to afford a pedal cycle. On the negative side, you'll have to learn to tell the kids the real truth or lose your job. Bit of real history for you. In 1945-46, at Nuremberg in Germany, I was only following orders was found not to be a defence. Remember what happened to Goebbels? He topped himself rather than face a court. His wife and kids went too! Still, whichever way it goes, no more of those compulsory Malvinas lectures, eh? Of course I may be biased. I tend to the view that argie teachers who misled children should be shot, slowly. Toes, ankles, knees, groin, hips, stomach, fingers, wrists, elbows, shoulders and, finally, skull. Do you think teachers should have their eyes shot out before the bullet through the skull? Or should we just get them to volunteer for mine clearance on the Falklands? Easy job. Just jump up and down!
Nov 19th, 2013 - 06:00 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@16 Plastic surgery? Isn't the correct term shoring up?
@21 Argieland. Slams is what you'd like. Slums is what you get. Shouldn't you be off to gather in the Plaza de Mayonnaise? Important question. Is Twink really Twatboy (aka Gollum)? But there is HOPE. Once argies have been removed. New Britain? New London? Argies in zoos?

Nov 19th, 2013 - 06:20 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Dear fessor.......
You have previously demonstrated that you do master Spanish grammar and orthography to near perfection...
Today you demonstrate that your comprehension of spoken Spanish is quite deficient....
Mrs. Fernandez speech was heard and implicitly understood by millions of native Spanish speakers...
The dog doesn't look to happy...
Nov 19th, 2013 - 06:36 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The reason ? She treats it like the rest of Argentina .
It's fed on shit and kept in the dark .
Don't think much of her cleaning staff, look at the state of those window frames.
Nov 19th, 2013 - 06:44 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I think she tilts her head like that so the wig doesn't look as crooked as usual.
Nov 19th, 2013 - 07:20 pm - Link - Report abuse 0What a nutjob.

Nov 19th, 2013 - 09:56 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I do believe that every Falkland Islander feels the same.
I tell you, one day an independent Falkland Islands will erect statues to this woman who has done more than anyone else to bolster their sense of nationhood!
will erect statues

Nov 20th, 2013 - 06:15 am - Link - Report abuse 0that comment is right on-topic!
CFK has re-invented her public image, in order to return.
Should she do so, it would ensure Argentina would be in no position to threaten the Falklands and at the same time promote the unique identity of the Islanders.
Its incredible how brain surgery can turn a foaming at the mouth raving lunatic into a childrens TV presenter.
Nov 20th, 2013 - 08:55 am - Link - Report abuse 0Perhaps her surgeons can share their techniques, we can cure all sorts of pschopaths......or maybe this effect is just temporary, perhaps we should wait and see. I suspect she will focus more on her enemies within Argentina for the rest of her term. Ranting on about the Falkland Islands is not going to help her much when inflation goes though the roof and they can export the currency to Venezuela to use as toilet paper.
It's possible that her 'bi-polar' disorder may have been the dural pressure on parts of the brain exerted by the two haematomas.
Nov 20th, 2013 - 10:17 am - Link - Report abuse 0She may come out of this more like you and me.

Nov 20th, 2013 - 12:35 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Actually, my Argentine colleagues agreed with me ... so they understood what I understood.
The boy was born in 1993 and so he was only ten years old when Néstor Kirchner came to power in 2003.
Try listening to what she says and not what you would like her to say.

Nov 20th, 2013 - 08:38 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Dear Chrissie,
Thanks to you my dear, Falkland Island politics has been overhauled with paid politicians and after years of hibernation we are at last talking to the world.
Please please please find a way to stay in power for perpetuity.
This penguin is send as a token of our gratitude (with the cash needed for your op inside ).
We have missed your rants about us that make you sound so so stupid and which provide us with free publicity.
Thanks to you, the plans for the deep water port are progressing, and it seems no accident that the UK's new aircraft carriers seem to be making amazingly rapid progress in their construction.
Also because Argentina is not involved in our search for oil, thanks to you and Nestor, its discovery will not be delayed by 50 years as would have happened if YPF had been involved.
Please visit us in the Islands so we can measure you up for your statue,
Yours with gratitude and kisses,
FIG
As I said in post #33, I totally agree.
Nov 21st, 2013 - 12:21 am - Link - Report abuse 0No single politician anywhere has done more than CFK to promote a unique Falkland Islander identity and promoted economic activity within the Islands.
