    Oh boy!

This message board is going to be funny in so many different ways. So let me get the ball rolling.

“The Tierra del Fuego Malvinas Question Provincial Observatory Advisory Council”

WTF? If this isn't the true definition of a waste of money quango I don't know what is.

First what does it observe? And is that observation so specialised as needing an entire organisation? Doesn't anyone in Tierra del Fuego have access to Google?

Second. What are they advising exactly? How to invade properly next time?

“former Malvinas combatant Alejandro Betts ”

    Really? He was a combatant?

Well at least the article was correct in calling him “former Falklands Islander”. I suppose he is a current Isla Malvinero. Even though that place only exists in such worthless organisations like The Tierra del Fuego Malvinas Question Provincial Observatory Advisory Council.

Congrats Alex. Your conversion is no complete. You are officially employed to try and make a 74 year old fairytale real.

Some people say that the Malvinas cause is all talk and no action. But here they have not only inaugurated a boardroom but then decided to meet in that room again. And when they do, well.... they will consider introducing prizes for each other.

I'm afraid for the islanders it sounds like the game is almost up.

I think something got lost in translation here. I was picturing a real observatory (telescopes etc trained on the islands from the heights of the Andes?). I think what it really means is something along the lines of “TdF M question Provincial Study Center”

Looking forward to the award ceremony. Timerman should be up for the “lifetime non-achievement plastic juice cup”, Cfk must be in the running for the reverse psychology award, given to the person who persevered with hating and trying to undermine the islanders the most to make them come running.

But the most prestigious awards will go to the Malvinistas on this site; for “Having the piss ripped out of them day and night for years and not getting it. Once”

Way I heard it, the only combatting that Bett's did was with the lass from LADE, who dumped himn after they got to BA anyway. I also hear that he hasn't spoken to his children from that day to this. Speaks plenty at the C24 most years though - otherwise unemployable probably. The Falklands' Lord Haw Haw !!

He, Betts, has been engaged in combat, the war of words.
My personal opinion is, he is he is about as good at that as the RG Army are at actual fighting.
That being said, and before anyone else 'climbs on my back', yes the Argentine Air Force did perform very credibly, much to the discomfort of the British Forces, although some of their claims were a little exaggerated, how many times did they sink the 'Invincible'?

There were two “combatants” in the Betts family.

Peter Betts, merchant sailor, was onboard RFA Tidepool.
Terry Betts, Falkland Islander, was one of the Falkland Islanders who helped British forces following the landing.

    Alexander Betts did sweet FA.

On the bright side, Alexander as he used to be known, is getting on and can't last much longer. It's amazing that an individual with so many enemies still likes to appear publicly. Especially when there are so many bullets with his name on them. Of course, he makes much more money out of being an unprincipled traitor. http://en.mercopress.com/2007/01/29/former-islander-running-for-mayor-in-cordoba-village

That article needs to be read. Especially ”It was in the late seventies while working in Stanley (Puerto Argentino) that Betts begun reading books about the “British usurpation of 1833” and Argentina's legitimate rights over the Malvinas, and then something changed“. Not real books then. Argie books. There's are other more popular descriptions of argie books. Such as ”propaganda“ and ”lies“. But the turd was ”dissatisfied” and brainwashed himself. Must be similar to the Stockholm Syndrome.

I have this picture of him at the opening meeting, standing there wearing a hood with the eyes slits, Argentine Officers either side of him and nodding as each member passes in front of him and they ask him, “Is he one?” Then they get escorted from the building and whisked away in a Green Ford Falcon, never to be seen again.

”and naming “former Malvinas combatant Alejandro Betts as technical advisor”

What's technical about raising a white flag?

Does Alej advise on the correct method of extracting the white flag from the standard Argentine ration pack?

If he was a'combatant', which battle did he surrender at?

Didn't realise the Battle of the Bulge took place in the Falklands?

Oh I get it now! He's a salad dodger so he technically advises Prince Maximo on the deitry requirements necessary to achieve that 'maximum gut' look, in the vain hope that several hundred waddling Argie salad dodgers will wade ashore at Yorke Bay, dodge the mines, scare the British garrison shitless and cause their immediate surrender.

He's a traitor pure and simple. Like all fools, eventually the Argentines will stop giving him money and he will die alone and unloved. No one will mourn his passing, but many would like to urinate on his grave. People will only remember him as an traitor and an idiot, a fool who was willing to betray his kin for lust.

Is Betts a Trojan Horse ? The malvinistas might think he is one of them , but maybe his motives are more sinister . ......
Has he had a hand in building the secret airport in Patagonia ?

Is it really the launch pad for a new English invasion ?

You can see why they would want the “English” to invade when you look at the pitiful things donated to cloth the “veterans” in that area.

Mind you, I bet most of the donors want the stuff back now that they are on their uppers themselves.

Good to see Senor de la Thinko has a new occupation and might have less time for rose coloured Malvinas stories on Mercopress!
