Yes, we have been licking our wounds since the end on Empire, but we are back in business. The argies love their 'uk is finished' line, but the truth could not be more different.

Dose of reality - isnt the JOB of these quasi-governmental think-tanks to make their own nation look and sound better than it actually is?

I mean it literally is their JOB to make their own statements look authoritative?

When not supported by direct governmental links they are supported bia third-parties and quangos and bankers and big-business...all to make their own economy and “worth” appear higher.

We openly ridicule (with good cause) the Argentine Governments own statistics and claims on its economy, but then laud our own, simply because it is presented by a supposed third-party organisation?

Furthermore it is pre-disposed upon the growth of the UK population, which will be higher amongst migrant coomunities but still nowhere near the relative growth in other nations such as Brazil... those burgeoning populations guaranteed to outstrip all of Europe.

So #1 of an ever smaller pie doesnt seem that much to shout about to me, especially when its generated by a bunch of banker's quislings for their own direct benefit.

    ... just saying....

Population growth is fine...if said population works, innovates and is productive.
Don't expect the Favella dwellers to be any of the above.
Brazil and China may have large populations but that is more of a hindrance to their success than a positive.
Brazil is run by Marxists terrorists. In the end they will fail.
China is on the brink of a huge credit disaster, they can't feed or fuel themselves and they are no longer the cheap worker bees of the world.
    They will also fail.
It is just a matter of time.

    Deadbeat @ 14

Well the ones that came today enjoyed Volunteer Point, Bluff Cove, Gypsy Cove, the museum, Long Island, the Murrell Farm, scenic flights, Stanley tours, the pubs and the streets. Nobody got mugged and nobody had to endure political and / or industrial demonstrations. The ones I spoke with were all very happy as they were waiting for their return launches a few hours ago.

Wow...let me rush to get my ticket.....on second thoughts I think I'll go to Venice instead......

    Deadbeat @ 16

Why on earth would anyone compare a cruise of the South Atlantic with going to Venice? You sound jealous of the fact that we're getting some many cruises. We all know that if there was nothing worth seeing here the cruise companies would've stopped coming years ago. They're just trying to make money after all.

On another topic: how do you decide which of your logins you'll use when responding to a post? I mean, what made you choose A_Voice for these posts? Why not one of your other logins? Also, while we're on multiple logins, why do you have so many? I mean, what's wrong with just the one? Don't waste our time telling us that there is only one Think and one DoD and one A_Voice and one Chicuero and one Surfer etc. That's just boring. Why do you do it? What's to be gained from having so many names? Do you think people fall for it when you stage ongoing conversations amongst yourself?

    Credibility check anyone.

Oh thanks for bringing DoD out of the grave for a bit of a treat the other night though. I did appreciate that one. How's all of his campaigning going? How did Dover fare this week in the storms? Did Mrs DoD make it to Waitrose?

    Credibility check anyone?

    Chuckle chuckle

A-HOLE has obviously never been to Stanley, plenty to occupy a couple of hours. A pint in one of the hostelrys, the memorials, the quay, the museum, the various styles of buildings, the Cathedral, and wonder at the Waitrose and M&S stuff in the store.

By the way, as A-HOLE is Scotch and there are very few Waitroses up there and I am sure he is camped out in some dump like Easterhouse not Helensburgh.

    Chuckle chuckle..

    18 Faz

He's just insanely bitter and jealous.

As for Waitrose; you wouldn't know why I mentioned it but it was because of another one of A_Voice/ Think's characters call Doveroverdover. He came along a couple of years ago I guess and tried to convince everyone that he was a retired Royal Navy officer of considerable seniority. He also claimed that he'd be down in the Falklands several times for work.

The trouble was that he made too many mistakes in his character's career and experiences. Back then he used to go into a lot of detail, including trivial detail, to try to give his characters some realism. DoD supposedly lived in Dover and was a regular at the local RBL.

The funniest mistake, of many, that he made was when he said one day that his wife was at Waitrose shopping. Poor deadbeat, unbeknown to him (because he was in fact nowhere near Dover) Dover was in the grips of one of the worst storms of recent times and most major roads were closed due to flooding. The authorities were urging people to stay home and not even go to work. The nearest Waitrose is 13 miles from Dover and Mrs DoD was off there shopping! The stuff of true RN officers indeed.

What you have to remember is that Think (aka: place any of about 10 names here) represents about half, if not more, of the Malvinista posters on here.

Well Faz I'm off on a family outing to one of the local attractions. I'll be back in 15 minutes! LOL!
