Dec 27th, 2013 - 01:02 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Yes, that is a truism as is they are stupid, lazy bastards and will never work at school or get a job to improve their status.
But the Social Inclusion Programme of Uruguay is working to improve their lot by taking money from citizens who DO work to give to the poor and some of the workers are now less well off than if they were in the Programme.
Cretinous logic, typical of The Cunt Brown © Jeremy Clarkson 2010.
Argentina of course does not GAF!
Perhaps the RCC should show it’s caring side by opening the doors to the Vatican vaults and give The Poor all the gold, jewels and other assets they have for “The Good Of God”. Most of it given by the “poor” in the hopes of getting into “Heaven” when they croak.
But then the Holy See would be bust and The Poor would still be with us.

This sounds very good. More than 10 million argies in poverty. Not that they merit anything else. How will things be when it's 20 million? Just a tip, argies, don't ask the UK for aid. Although we might be able to help by reducing your population. You should look to the future. Should we exterminate 30 million of you? I use the word exterminate advisedly. The correct thing to do with vermin.

THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS?.
Dec 27th, 2013 - 03:02 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Who said that uca's observatory is one of the most prestigious from the country?, i don't invalid it's figures, but it is the first time i read that it's considered like one of the most prestigious from argentina.
If we talk about statistics, we'll find relevant differences among the different indexes, in fact, uca says that poverty is 24,4%, cifra-cta says it's 20%, indec says it's 4,5%, beside there are also provincial indexes, so, you can choose the one that you preffer.
I don't have the necesssary academic knowledge to affirm whether indec's figures are reliable of false, but what i know is that private polls don't enough infrastructure as indec has, in order to create a reliable index. In my opinion, private polls shouldn't be taken either as the ones which tell the truth about argentina's situation.
If we debate about argentina's progress in the last ten years, it's not necesary to take the numbers of any statistics, because people's progress, and our pendent social debts can be seen in the streets. If argentina didn't have a deep social improvement, embasies would be still the solution for many people, as they used to be for many years, however there is not any massive inmigration of argentines to other countries. On the other hand, if argentina didn't have this progress, rouds wouldn't be full cars with people who go to spend their holidays in the crowed beaches from our coast, beside turistic bussiness men have good expectations for their enterprices every summer, anyway, at the same time, many of them increase the prices of the houses and appartments that people rent.
The other side of our reality, is that we still have a 34% of workers who don't have any social safe in their jobs, they just have the government's help, beside, there is also a number of people who live in very precarious conditions.
Poverty exists in most countries: the UK has more than 15 millons of people living in poverty. Would you believe Prince Charles navy retirement is only U$S 167.00 per week? Of course, he donate his retirement money to charity.
Dec 27th, 2013 - 06:21 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The USA has 26 millons people living below poverty levels and 47 millons depending in goverment food stamps assistance. Beggers are found in streets in all the USA, but have not seen beggers in certain cities in Argentina except in Bs.As.

Dec 27th, 2013 - 08:50 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Which sort of only bolsters the poverty issues for Argentina which CAN'T seem to produce a clear figure.
I some how doubt the poverty rates rates for the US and UK (and Australia) contain such tragic examples such as:
* 7.3% of the population are malnourished
* 10% of house do not have running water
* 30% of house are not connected to sewage network
* 37% of young adults have not finished high school
* 20% of young adults don't have a job or school
* 12% of children aged 5 to 17 are involved in some kind of job
* 125,000 households does not have access to the real value of the basic food basket.

In order to avoid such criticism, shouldn't CFK be distributing her US$66 million to the poor and needy? Just think, for one day you could have an extra US$6.60! Bet that's the way she thinks about it. They'll never notice.

Dec 29th, 2013 - 04:10 am - Link - Report abuse 0It's called enjoying the holidays with your family. Something long forgotten in the dysfunctional social craphole of Australia. Do you even have families anymore, I've actually never seen an Australian family, it's always two or three racist blokes parading up and down Mendoza, or the lone butch-looking aussie girl, escaping whatever miserable existence she had back home.
For all the money you tout, its clear your social fabric is non-existent.
Behold Argentina's superior intellect; jealous that Australians can afford to travel to his ghetto. The person that has never been anywhere but thinks he has experienced it anyway.
Dec 29th, 2013 - 08:14 am - Link - Report abuse 0Seems he is over spending time with his family if he is on here. At least according to his theory.
I've actually never seen an Australian 'family'
Of course you haven't.
You haven't been anywhere!
You haven't swum in the Caribbean, walked around Stonehenge, gazed upon the Mona Lisa, touched the Berlin Wall, climbed the Eiffel Tower or Statue of Liberty, walked the markets of Marrakech, driven across the Nullabor or the Canadian Prairies, haggled in the market in Antigua Guatemala or scuba dived in Indonesia.
So no one is the least surprised that you haven't seen an Australian family. Some things can't be experienced through Google.
And for your information, after opening up my house to a traditional Colombian Christmas on the 24th with dancing (and quite loud annoying singing) until 4am; I then invited 2 Colombian, a Venezuelan and a Queenslander to spend Christmas with my family as they were so far from their own.
Who did your family open their house to?
Who did you extend generosity to?
How did you contribute to the social fabric of your country over this period?
I do believe you called me a pathetic social racist on another thread. Why, because I keep besting you at every turn? Because I don't fall for your government's crappy propaganda. Because my country is successful and yours isn't and you have actually stated that yours is a failure more than once?
Speaking of a dysfunctional social craphole; which country experienced police strikes, looting, massive blackouts and social unrest all in the last few weeks? Topping off food shortages, 30% inflation, growing malnutrition & poverty levels and child labour.
You will never make my country look bad because yours will always look worse, especially when represented by people such as yourself.
Superior intellect indeed!

Jonaz_BsAs
Dec 30th, 2013 - 12:17 am - Link - Report abuse 0As I said stick around. Nostrils currently known as It's a TrOLL Road will soon expose you to his glee over other people's misfortune.
I can't wait to read your first, second, third and then 100th reply to him.
Argentineans have the country they deserve. They run it, they vote their pathetic populist politicians with easy answers in to power and they are now reaping the rewards. Unlike Nostrils, I don't blame anyone but Argentineans for what they are experiencing.
I don't have to be glad that my government will do the same thing because we know that politicians are untrustworthy and we know that they neither sides knows all the answers or gets it right all the time. We don't accept leaders becoming multi millionaires while in power. We don't accept the removal of checks and balances because the government thinks their right to govern is greater than my right to have those checks and balances.
Australia and Argentina were once equally rich and developed as each other. Then Argentina chose the path of Peronism and has never gotten off. Now they are not even in the same league as us. That is not because we were lucky and they had external problems we didn't face but because we took the difficult path of reform and not the easy path of populism.
Until a leader stands before the Argentine people and tells them the truth that they are broke, that their system doesn't work, that there is no external enemy trying to keep them down, that the way they live and work has to change, that their past wealth and prosperity was the result of a different set of values.... until that happens, Argentineans are doomed to continually repeat their past mistakes and continue their downward slide.
Saying I have glee and am counterproductive because I hold a mirror up to these failings is nothing more than shooting the messenger.
I truly look foward to your replies to Nostrils, they will be educational and entertaining. Why not start with one to his comment 21?
Anglolatino, you poor, miserable thing.

Dec 30th, 2013 - 03:26 am - Link - Report abuse 0Actually I lie, that wasn't even a good try!
I've experienced life by doing things, Nostrils experiences them through Google and gloats this is equivalent. You enable him by taking 4 words out of context without a single mention of how skewed his world view is. People like you helped to create the problems in Argentina as you cannot bring yourself to even once admit that you are wrong.
You support all that is wrong with Argentine society and the fact that you never reply to Nostrils to correct his warped world view is proof. You skip past his racism, his generalisations, his errors; his egotistically claims of the superior intellect on here and quickly launch yourself at others.
You ignore 30% inflation because it is the product of an economic system that you prefer. You ignore Argentina travel restrictions because they are the result of standing up to ‘vulture funds’ in your eyes and not the result of an economic system that doesn’t work. You sacrifice your beloved Uruguay at the alter of Argentina as you can’t criticise any action that might denigrate Argentina. You’re a blind fool and know it – because the standard of your commentary has dropped even further and further.
Your first comment on this 3 day old thread that lists such disgusting statistics such as child labour, no access to running water, growing poverty and malnutrition and you can’t bring yourself to comment or analyse because you feel the need to call me names.
By all means, continually attack me as it has no effect. I am not secretive like you & I live by my convictions... again unlike you. I don't espouse an ideology that I won't live under and am open and honest in my opinions. You are nothing but a contrarian that runs around diverting topics and attacking the minutiae of a message.
But supposedly I'm the miserable thing...... and then your comment came along & we could all see exactly what miserable really looks like.
How are them grapes? Nice and sour I bet

Stevie
Dec 30th, 2013 - 07:47 am - Link - Report abuse 0While you are so simple and transparent, it is obvious that I am the opposite.... at least to you.
First off, I have never ONCE said that I am rich or well off. I was comfortably middle class until I returned to uni and now have made income and lifestyle sacrifices to live that dream. I don't flaunt my cash because I don't have any. I only work 20 hours per week during semester.
Second, I find it impossible to be using my father's cash because he lost everything in bankruptcy including his superannuation.
But because I have whupped your arse left, right and centre over the past couple of days....nay months, I now supposedly have never had a job?
I have to wonder how old you think I am. The CBA would be surprised to learn the mortgage they gave me several years ago was to someone unemployed. Doesn't seem possible. How do I pay for that dastardly burden every month?
How did I manage to travel and live through 28 countries over 4 years without working? God I wish my father was that rich because then I would easily fit into some nice little pigeon hole for you. You may have sold your soul for money and a comfortable lifestyle in Europe contrary to all your espoused beliefs but not all of us are so morally bankrupt.
While you are so transparent, it seems I'm not at all.
Over the past week your posts have been pathetic which just goes to show that you are a coward of the finest pedigree who has to gang up with others to bully people. I, on the other hand, can easily stand alone and still run rings around you. It is just easier now while you flail around desperately trying to gain traction with one pathetic line of attack after another.
But soon your friends will be back and while Think and his ilk will have your back, it won't change you from being the morally bankrupt coward that we all see and hear every day.

There won't be a first, second or 100th reply; I have a life to live and I know I a fanatic when I see him. For the same reason I don't debate with members of the Scientology church or Jehovah's Witnesses for that matter.
Judging from the live threads, this board has become as useless as an internet discussion board can possibly become; fringe operators trying to get their “got ya” moment while facts have long since been thrown out the window.
Your assertion that “Argentineans have the country they deserve” is not helpful at best and destructively ignorant worst. At least 8-10 million Argentines are as horrified by the current government as you are but what can we do? Start a civil war? You see, alternatives aren’t plentiful and the situation is quite desperate.
Lobbing insults isn’t helpful and in your posts you come along as being ethnocentric or even racist, which probably aren’t your motives. If you want to understand (and perhaps even help) Argentina, you should dig a little deeper and not waste your time debating fanatics. However, if your prime motive is to insult citizens of foreign nations from the comfort of your own home, it seems as if you have found a perfect venue.
At least 8-10 million Argentines are as horrified by the current government as you are but what can we do?

The problem is Rgs to too stupid, lazy and corrupt to do it.
Corruption is ingrained, supported and encouraged by your society. You are also lazy and expect to live well without having to work for it.
You'd be better off giving up this failed experiment of democracy and go back to military rule. It is the only thing that will get you a better life over the next generation. Try to find someone like Pinochet to fix the Society and rout out corruption. It will take a generation or two but it will be worth it.
You are as ignorant as they come, yankee, but who could be surprised? A return to military dictatorship is clearly the worst outcome of all, it will only delay the democratisation process with another generation or two. Only a clown would suggest what you just did.

if your prime motive is to insult citizens of foreign nations from the comfort of your own home, it seems as if you have found a perfect venue.
Oh sorry I am mistaken you have contributed:
I am so happy I got my a** out of this poor excuse of a country.

The sun also rises over basket case Argentina.

Hmm so Argentina to you is a poor excuse of a country and a basket case
Yes, I can see now that that my comment that Argentineans have the country they deserve was so unhelpful and destructively ignorant compared to your constructive and sensitive suggestions.
In summary, citizens lit the fire in Argentina that has caused the climate today.

Dec 31st, 2013 - 11:51 am - Link - Report abuse 0Since you made such a valiant effort in looking up my former comments (never is a mighty long time ☺ - I actually didn’t say that, but whatever..), I´ll come back for this one comment:
I have spent the majority of my adult life working, living and investing in Argentina. I understand how Argentina works (or doesn’t, rather) and I have the scar tissue to show for it.
What had the potential of being the most interesting English speaking discussion board regarding Argentina has apparently become a place where fanatics from both sides (pro/con Argentina) come to “duke it out”. Several of the commenters seem to have no other motivation when commenting on this board than insulting other commentators, which is an awfully bad place to start if you are want to learn something from interesting discussions.
Argentines who are lamenting the sorry state of their country – like I do – are mostly motivated by the enormous untapped potential and will often display a love/hate relationship with their fatherland. But still it is home, so when foreigners, with apparent shallow knowledge and dubious motivation, turns message boards like this one into a childish “my country is better than yours” competition, I head for the door. Others may opt to defend what really cannot be defended.
Any person with a mental age above 16 knows that you can’t compare Argentina with Western Europe, Australia or USA with regards to human development indices. So why even bother? Does it make yourself feel better when taking a crap on a clearly worse run country than your own? If so, doesn’t that say a whole lot about you?
the enormous untapped potential
