Disclaimer & comment rulesi am totally against kirchner, but this newspaper (sorry newspapers) is some kind of joke.
Jan 08th, 2014 - 05:15 am - Link - Report abuse 0Cristina Fernandez also came under strong criticism from the opposition because of her silence during Christmas and New Year, when traditionally there is a presidential message.
nobody said a thing because of that.
the criticism was because of her silence during the power cuts.
i mean, it would be a lot more accurate and simple, to copy the report from an argentine newspaper and paste it here
There's been activity at the Kirchner mauseleum, there's rumour of a sabbatical, she's been working for 18 days in Santa Cruz and she's due to fly to Venezuala and Cuba before the end of the month. Join the dots and one possible scenario is that she's been collecting her money and belongings together for the last 18 days (it takes time to pack) and her trip to Venezuala or Cuba will be one-way.
Jan 08th, 2014 - 05:28 am - Link - Report abuse 0Or to look at it another way what is keeping her in Argentina? Reduced potential for income, failing infrastructure, increased disatisfaction with her performance, the potential for a new government to ask some tricky questions when they learn the true state of the economy. Join the dots and... same answer!
We shall see...
Kirchner suffered a serious brain injury and doesn't know where she is half of the time. It's a terrible shame.
Jan 08th, 2014 - 06:38 am - Link - Report abuse 0Cristina's always quiet during crises in Argentina.
Jan 08th, 2014 - 10:02 am - Link - Report abuse 0She's a coward who will retire rich while the stupid population that support her will live the rest of their lives out in poverty or destitution.
There does seem to be something brewing, that’s for sure: what it is remains to be seen!
Jan 08th, 2014 - 10:43 am - Link - Report abuse 0I suspect that the child allowance is going to be increased in line with the real inflation so that the oi polloi who have children will be mollified somewhat and it will give the scum bags who call themselves a government a bit more time.
My next door neighbour is here for his holidays (he is an Argentine) and he tells me that his businesses are just about breaking even but he is looking to close them soon. His reply to my question “why don’t you sell them” was obvious: “but even Argentines aren’t that stupid Chris”.
Given what the “Argentines” (not only the Peronista idiots) have put up with it makes me wonder. He owns the house next door and I know he has at least one account at BROU so I suspect he’s been salting money away for some time: he is definitely NOT stupid.

Big announcement with CFK's return.
Jan 08th, 2014 - 01:10 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Argentina will import Tomatoes from Brazil to mollify the huge price increases.
Bahahahaha
Sir may I have another?
Democracy has clearly failed in Argentina
I wonder what CFK makes of this?
Jan 08th, 2014 - 01:40 pm - Link - Report abuse 0From an Ex-pat in Buenos Aires:
So, my building has something new – a phantom parking spot.
That’s right, we have a parking spot in our garage that is not assigned to anyone in the building. It’s purpose? I’m glad that you asked.
This spot is reserved for when you might have a carjacker, kidnapper, murder, rapist, etc. in the back of your car who has forced you to drive home and plans to do something nefarious to you once they have forced you to take them into your apartment.
Well, the joke will be on them when you park your car in the phantom parking spot. Building security will immediately be alerted that something is wrong – since no one is ever supposed to park here – and they will call the police right away.
While at first it seems like a clever idea, the fact that they thought they had to implement this is a bit scary. I guess better safe than sorry…
Elaine, That is why I keep telling them they'll never know what it is like not to live in fear. I was amazed at the lengths that the every day Rg take to remain safe. When I moved back there people thought I was nutty but the vigilance becomes ingrained and second nature.
Jan 08th, 2014 - 01:54 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I remember when I moved to BA I wanted to buy a convertible. I have always had one for the summer and the only time I put the top up was when it started to rain while I was out in the car. I never put it up while it was parked etc. So when I mentioned it to my friends there they thought I was crazy, why would i want a convertible when I could never put it down. Then if you notice while in Arg you barely ever see convertibles and if you do the tops are always up!
It's so sad they have to live under fear all the time.
@10
Jan 08th, 2014 - 01:56 pm - Link - Report abuse 0That IS a clever idea. Lets hope they never have to make use of it.
I noticed the increase in crime over the years I was there - usually for several months at a time. I confess to being a little blasé about it as it is not the most dangerous city I have lived and worked in. I tend to blend and I don't display wealth. I always appear to know where I am going, even if I am just exploring and observing but I do have an awareness at all times. This has, so far, helped me dodge some tricky situations in many countries but I also think I have had an amount of luck.
Jan 08th, 2014 - 02:07 pm - Link - Report abuse 0What really brought it home to me on my last visit to Argentina was how worried the locals were about crime. They were really jumpy and nervous. Usually it is the visitor who over-worries but when the locals are jumping at their own shadows you know there is a very real risk.
When I lived in an apartment in BsAs there was high security and the night security chaps used to look out for me when I was late back, often at dawn, shaking their heads and pointing at their watches as if they were worried. It was a bit of a game, I thought at the time. I wouldn't think it was a game now.
@ paulcedron, You should be ashamed of Kirchner not speaking to her people at Christmas unless ofcourse the botox as affected her nasty tongue.
Jan 08th, 2014 - 03:24 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@andy65, believe me, nobody except the ultra k want her to speak to her people at christmas, new year, easter, or whatever.
Jan 08th, 2014 - 03:28 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The idiots at the BA Herald are using an online poll in a daily telegraph article to imply that 63% of the Uk thinks the Falklands should be Argentinian! When in fact anyone including Argentinians (assuming they have power and Internet) could vote. In fact to prove the point the percentage is currently 70% - how long before Filmus gets a press release out on that one?

@8 Wow. You read News Agency. And you thought you'd translate that into newspaper for all the English speakers that couldn't understand News Agency. How kind of you, you dozy cretinous moron. Could you let us know when you intend to apply intelligence to your drivel? I'm sorry to disappoint you but the argie insistence on conquering, unsuccessfully, a couple of thousand peaceful people indicates who the desperate sheep shaggers are. Unfortunately, Falkands sheep are picky.

I need to tell you that you need an argie university education to talk to me. That's because I'm British. A status that you couldn't aspire to in the next hundred years.
@16 Strangely, examination for about 5 seconds shows that commenters and voters are argentine or supporters. Actually, British support for nuking argieland is about 48%. British support for turning argieland into a waste charnel house by conventional means is about 42%. There are minor votes suggesting use of argies for biological testing. Why use beagles when you can use argies? Ditto other animals. Ferrets, mice, rats (very appropriate), voles, weasels!
its the same lot who tried to con us over the Gibraltar vote in the telegraph,
Jan 08th, 2014 - 06:24 pm - Link - Report abuse 0they traced most of the emails back to one embassy.
but then again losers always find ways of conning the rest ..lol

what universities do you have in malvinas, on the other hand?

There was an University in Neuquen, but in reallity it was just a night school.
