Cuba that is hosting a major regional summit at the end of the month will propose that Latin America and the Caribbean be declared a Zone of Peace, according to reports from the Cuban Foreign ministry. Read full article
A bit ironic as no nation in that region is remotely capable of producing nuclear arms and the last country that hosted them there was Cuba. A continent of hypocrites, every last one of the bleeders.
Stoke-on-Trent Council (bat-shit mad Labour) had brown traffic signs showing a stylised ICBM broken in half posted on all the roads into the den of thieves for many years.
But it must have worked; there was never a nuclear attack!
The recent councils, being predominately Muslim but even more bent, prefer their home grown terrorists to the stupid signs and they have been removed unlike the terrorists.
Brighton council made itself a nuclear free zone then demanded the local terrtorial army bases were nuclear free. In a very angry letter, this was passed on to HQ who passed it onto the MoD where it sat in an in tray for ages.
Till some bored general replied MOD policy is niether to confirm or deny the presence of nuclear weapons on any mod site and operational decisions are taken by the Army with direction of the cabinet. Local councils are not involved or consulted if the terrortial army unit in brighton is issued with nuclear weapons it is because their is an operational requirement to do so.:).
This morning I had another talk with the German Chancellor, Herr Hitler, and here is the paper which bears his name upon it as well as mine. Some of you, perhaps, have already heard what it contains but I would just like to read it to you: ' ... We regard the agreement signed last night and the Anglo-German Naval Agreement as symbolic of the desire of our two peoples never to go to war with one another again.
I believe it is peace for our time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Go home and get a nice quiet sleep.
“We believe that it is necessary that all heads of state and government from the region reach an agreement that any difference, any conflict, will always be resolved through dialogue, negotiations and that the threat or the use of force, never arrives”
That's fine then. the Falklands will no longer face a military threat.
Of course the last country in Latam and the Caribbean to process Nuclear Weapons, was of course Cuba. Oh apart from the Nuclear Armed Russian Missile Cruiser that visited Cuba a couple of years back.
Sometimes I wonder if the USA is poisoning these Alba leaders, slowly making them crazier and crazier.
It is really the only explanation I can come up with.
#12, good one !... Chamberlain couldn't see it coming, not even if you rubbed his face in it... nor could quite a few other imbeciles....and they called Churchill a warmonger...
So, let me guess: this ZOP is going to be where everybody promises not to use the weapons that they wont actually throw away just in case they might need to use them?
all talk and no walk... The Caribe countries are under no threat from anyone, from anywhere....
“We believe that it is necessary that all heads of state and government (...) reach an agreement that any difference, any conflict, will always be resolved through dialogue, negotiations and that the threat or the use of force, never arrives”.
Was not this the reason the UN was set up in the first place? I think Cuba is coming in from the cold (war) finally and needs to encourage goodwill (and positive publicity). Tragic that VNZLA is heading towards a communist-military dictatorship. Still, fine words from Havana, although ultimately meaningless
And the first thing to do would be to outlaw all political parties enemies of freedom and democracy, like the Communist parties, and its collaborationists.
I get kind of sceptical when I read Proposals like the Cuban's. Usually they are made by those that feel uneasy in the group and are just trying to guarantee their own survival...If they want to show goodwill, why don't they give their people freedom.....a good place to start.

Jan 21st, 2014 - 06:52 am - Link - Report abuse 0I take it that in this 'zone of peace' all countries joining it would immediately destroy all their arms? Both offensive and defensive?

What a useless piece of crap from Cuba.
On the other hand, Argentina appears to be way ahead of them - and is already destroy it's arms, through corruption and ineptitude.
How do you know it is free of nuclear weapons?
