Ex-Tottenham Hotspur player, Ossie Ardiles injured in a road accident in the Falkland Islands yesterday has thanked Falkland Islanders for their help Read full article
That is what makes our Country so great. We extend our hand to everyone in need and this accident showed the world just how kind we are as a community .
Mr Ardiles and his group received professional help from the local people in the same way they have always helped others in their tie of need. Pitty His leader in Argentina doesn't offer her hand of friendship to our people .
As Mr. A_Voice implied in another thread....... Every second of those Servicing Extended ´Hands will, most probably, be billed to Mr. Ardiles & Co. extended Travel Insurance.
maybe in a Latnam country would the wounded be charged for hospital and rescue services, but don't forget, the Falklands are part of the civilized world, and part of the EU
Don't get confused with the nearby, but totally distant in terms of behaviour and manners Argentina
Tink- Medical Travel Insurance is common sense! Tourists arriving here are expected to have a min cover for US$250,000 that inclused aero-med evacuation for obvious reasons! Bloody idiots if they dont!
Are you going to tell me that if I travel anywhere in S.America and get injured or ill - I get reated for free in good hospitals etc?!!!!!
No of coure I would not - that is why I would take out a suitable Medical Ins Policy - I need one in UK as well - I dont pay tax there so am not entitled to walk into a hospital there for free either.
Anyway Mr Ardiles is likley to back in Argentina very soon as he and the ESPN person with a neck injury are likley to be medivaced out by air in next 24hrs to Santiago or Buenos Aires for CT Scan checks that we do not have here - a costly bit of kit that no community of 3-4000 can afford or justify on it own - so we regularily send patients to where they are - much cheaper.

Tell your colonial English governor that instead of sending those warships on a field trip to Argentina to buy you a refurbished CT scanner.

How does quoting your own sock puppet lend strength to your point?
If it was meant ironically then fair enough, if not then it makes you look very odd.
Oh dear Tink showing his lack of grace once again.
Good to see Ossie's son has turned out well.
What a well mannered lad....he could almost be....well....British.
