Unfinished World Cup stadium takes another life: this time in Manaus

A worker died in an accident while working outside the World Cup stadium in the Brazilian city of Manaus, local authorities and the Sports Ministry said. The Amazonia Arena, which should have been completed in December according to FIFA's original deadline, is behind schedule and workers were rushing to get the job finished. Read full article

    Right I think the delay of the building stadiums is the least of their problems.. The cartels are pushing back to take control in key points of Rio. Ass well as record level of violence, power shortages as well as threats that police that may go on strike. Its not Dilmas fault she inherited Lula's delusions of grandeur..

    It is sad news that these workmen died to fulfill Brazil's' dream of staging the world cup.

    But, if what you say is true then, what kind of world cup will it be?

    I know that there was quite a debate on this forum a while back about the ability of Brazil's infrastructure to cope with the crowds coming to see the competition.

    I hope that they stage a GREAT world cup but with everything that is going on..... You've got to wonder what it will be like.
