Demining work did not take place this summer in the Falkland Islands, because efforts were focused on agreeing a multi-year plan for the next round of mine clearance operations, Member of Legislative Assembly Mike Summers stated this week. Read full article

Mar 14th, 2014 - 11:09 am - Link - Report abuse 0Why not let La Campora in and get them to jump up and down in the minefields, could work that.
Mar 14th, 2014 - 11:29 am - Link - Report abuse 0As a matter of minor interest, does anyone know how the penguins are taking to the demining process? Presumably they avoid demining around the breeding and nesting seasons, as well as when the weather is being too antisocial to let them?
Mar 14th, 2014 - 11:31 am - Link - Report abuse 0Every Rg tourist visiting the grave sites should be made to walk through the minefields and if they make it they can go home.
Mar 14th, 2014 - 11:54 am - Link - Report abuse 0Again the mine topic that FIG deliberately did not want to fix even when the Argentine government repeatedly offered the complete solution?

pervert people.....YOU choose and prefet to have that ugly souvenir for score cheap point with tourist......disgusting people.
@6. Holding civilians hostage danger-close to armed positions in Stanley and Goose Green to prevent direct attack . Holding guns to children's heads. Booby trapping school houses. Undisclosed random land mines laid by people who to this very day STILL CELEBRATE it all with a coin and you wonder why they don't trust you unrepentant fascist Malvanazis to clean it up. You want to know what disgusting looks like? Look in the mirror.

Mar 14th, 2014 - 03:14 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Argentina caused 1000+ unnecessary deaths; thousands more families members still grieving their loss or injury. And you yawn?
What sort of people are you? Nothing more than just immature cry babies.
Argentina is nearly as old as the USA but still looks and acts like a backward banana. No wonder you people constantly lament and whine so much your 'patriotic victories' in 1806/07. Arrh to think, you could have been like Australia or Canada. You could have been somebody.
@6 Argies? a complete solution? I'm sorry, I don't recall the argie government offering to send its population over to walk over the minefields, hop over the minefields, jump on to the minefields. Or offering vehicles that could be hauled across the minefields with ropes, and carrying argies, to detonate anti-vehicle mines. I'm sure I can see, as will have others, that argies would arrive to de-mine and just move the mines instead. Have to say that I wouldn't trust any argie de-miner until he, she or it had been blown apart.
Mar 14th, 2014 - 04:27 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@8 It must be remembered that all argies cannot simply be written off as immature cry babies. They are MUCH, MUCH worse than that. If you go through the alphabet, you can find at least one negative or obscene attribute that argies have for nearly every letter. Just as an example, let's take the letter A: abhorrent, acquisitive, adulterous, aggressive, anal, arsehole, asinine are words that spring immediately to mind. Just imagine how nasty they are when you add in the other 25 letters. A truly horrendous bunch of individuals. The best thing that can be said about them that there is every chance that they will kill each other off. The sooner the better!

Mar 14th, 2014 - 04:29 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I think you are lying.
Please prove me wrong by posting a credible link stating The Dark Country offered to clear the mines.
NOT what you say or what YOU think or what your friend said or La Camping-it-up Fairy Tales In The Sewers says a CREDIBLE international source.
The bill should be sent to Argentina
Mar 15th, 2014 - 10:45 am - Link - Report abuse 0Their have been talks about the mine issue but came to nothing came of them
Mar 15th, 2014 - 11:49 am - Link - Report abuse 0The UK should park a nuclear sub off the Argentine coast and issue an ultimatum for them to come and pick up their rubbish by hand.
Mar 15th, 2014 - 12:07 pm - Link - Report abuse 0They planted the mines. They should clear up their own mess.
At least none of the Malvinista deadbeats tried to say it wasn't them who laid them. How does it go? It was the Junta Nobody supported the Junta The Junta was out enemy as much as it was yours we were forced at gun point to celebrate in the 100s of thousands in the streets when the Junta invade the islands in 82
Mar 15th, 2014 - 02:53 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Dirty fucking mine laying deadbeats. DO you honestly think we'd trust you to clear them?
It would be a great idea to send the Trolls to clean the mines out....calling upon TheTruthTellingTroll, Mr El Think from Chubut, NeuTrollObserver, Voicey from Scotland, and a few others who give us a good laugh every now and again....and let's not forget Stevie the 'twat'.

Dear Jack @ 15
Mar 16th, 2014 - 01:05 am - Link - Report abuse 0I know you might be joking, but this perfectly sums up the 'Troll Attitude'.
Scweaming from the sidelines, yet refusing to accept any reponsibility for past actions.
Want 'dialogue'? Prove you are serious, by picking up your trash!
This would be a good start!
Ilsen @16, Yep, I was joking...because as much as the CFK Government might try to convince the onlookers that they are serious about their offer to clean up the mess they left behind, everyone can see it's just a show CFK is putting on because she knows that the Islanders don't want, and won't accept any Argies there, under any (false) pretense.

Mar 16th, 2014 - 06:52 pm - Link - Report abuse 0That's all she is good for, putting on a show. Sadly only her supporters at home are the only ones convinced by it. On the wider, global stage she is considered nothing more than a clown.
Every single Argentine I have met in London (quite a few) finds her embarrassing.
