I don't believe in forcing religions to consecrate same-sex marriages. It is their choice. Just as it is my choice to not follow a religion.

    I agree with you.

same thought here...eventhough I do not agree with them (C-Church), I do not consider forcing them to change their beliefs only for their clean conscience. It's somewhat silly...

As a Catholic I think this event is rather sad! My thoughts are with the child - totally innocent - and I welcome her into the Church.

But, her unnatural conception is pathetic and I condemn it! I do not and cannot believe the Church approves of the mothers' relationship.

I'm sorry Gordo1 but I disagree with you.

I am against the church being forced to change because I don't think they are that important and they are a private affair removed from government and society as a whole.

There is nothing unnatural about the conception unless you are willing invalidate all assisted reproduction. As an uncle to a child that was born through IVF, I cannot accept that.

Humans didn't invent homosexuality, we just invented the societal restrictions and aversion to it. If you believe in God, then you have to believe that God created all sorts of people, wether heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual etc.

As for the innocence of the child, has this been compromised? The most important thing a child can have is a someone to love them. Whether a single parent or more. No matter what their sex. Homosexual couples don't create homosexual children, otherwise I would be heterosexual like my parents and siblings.

If this child is in a loving family then it is already ahead of millions of other children in the world that either don't have a parent or are stuck with bad parents.... no matter what religion.

Why not just remove all barriers then? Why stop at gay marriage? How about dispensing with any moral compass, beliefs and Bible traditions? Just ignore it all and embrace the new concept that anything goes these days! It's for the children!! They're all equal, so therefore any actions from their parents are for their good at the end of the day.

No need to preach about sin or the Bible. No need to teach children your values, traditions and beliefs. Just declare that nothing is wrong, and that anything goes, and you have to accept it otherwise someone, somewhere on Earth will be offended. And we really, really don't want to offend anyone these days, do we!

No, we're all about embracing everything - no matter how it may be wrong - and denying no one anything. In our new improved world we can do anything we like. There is no more sin.
