    We wait with baited breath.

will they let Lopez out of gaol to attend?

    is it all for show?

Do either side actually believe that the other is genuine about resolving the situation this way?

Roman catholicism, butting up against left wing, Cuban inspired ideology.

Hmm, interesting? but somehow it does not fill me with a overwhelming feeling of optimism!

Still we can but I hope.

An excellent summary of the current situation in Venezuela with plenty of background on the censorship and restrictions placed on TV media, and journalists.
Also discusses how the Courts and Judiciary has been suborned by the regime.
There is no 'separation of the powers' in Venezuela anymore.

What can the Cardinal say, “let's not fight?”
“ no more protests - in exchange, release prisoners and drop charges?”

sure... no protests, and the Government rolls over the people and their rights, unimpeded.

    @3

I wonder if the atheist Dumb Ones will ever evolve enough to keep their mouths shut whenever the Pope or his offices try to achieve something positive.

I'm certainly not holding my breath on that.

    @ 6 Bingo!

Do you really want to start with me?

I am your worst nightmare: I know ”Christianity” and The Good Book as well if not better than you or any other misled (by their parents) and misguided (by the kiddie-fiddlers in silk frocks) “believer”.

So you think that having a RCC representative mixed up in this mess is something positive? Can you not see that Maduro (or probably his bosses) see this as a way to bring credibility to the damnable “government”?

Or do you think a dozen “Hail Mary’s” is going to solve the problem?

If you have the intellect AND an open mind, ask yourself some basic questions about the RCC but be truthful to yourself because you will not like the answers.
