Argentine President Cristina Fernandez on Monday asked Congress to eliminate some of the taxes paid by biodiesel manufacturers in a bid to support an industry hard hit by European Union anti-dumping measures, which was the country's main export market. Read full article

    A “trade war”, eh? Don't like it? Just as a FACT, 85% of biodiesel production comes from the EU. We don't “need” your pitiful little contribution. And remember who the “big boys” really are!

    What does that mean, “artificially low prices”? They can charge whatever they want.

    Either the prices they are willing to charge cover their costs, or they go under. No?

    Selling for cheaper, “undercutting”, is one of the benefits of laissez faire. No?

    Was CFK subsidizing this industry to be able to undercut? Is it just that they don't want to subsidize the new tariff also? So, they'll offset the tariff with the tax cut?

    Does this have anything to do with French farmers and French socialist interference in natural market forces?
