In the Queens English it is LABOUR, it is an English Political Party therefore it is spelt the English not American way. But you would know that being a contrarian.

The Mercopressians often make spelling mistakes due to being a news aggregator rather than an individual agency like AP.

I'm sure we all know what they meant.

I would be interested to hear more about the tax arrangements.

Funnily enough in Australia we spell it LABOUR, however the political party uses LABOR.

I've always gone by the rule that you spell & pronounce a word the way the locals would.
So for instance the British Overseas Territory 500 kilometers East of the continent of South America are clearly the Falkland Islands.
Listen next time some Argentinian government bod bangs on about geographical proximity. They never actually state how FAR away from South America the Falklands are.

I agree with zathras. I was just saying it doesn't really affect one's understanding of the article per se.

It is interesting that Labour has changed its stance on this though I still don't trust the buggers with the economy.

Personally, I have always thought that the Labour party was British, not English, considering it has had major inputs from Scots and Welsh in it's formation.

Personally speaking I refer to them as “the conniving weasels with the red rosettes” (as opposed to the conniving weasels with the blue rosettes, the conniving weasels with the yellow rosettes etc). I've yet to see one in office who wouldn't happily support any cause (regardless of how contradictory it is to their beliefs, the previous causes that they've supported and so forth) if there are votes in it for them.

What do you call 100 politicians buried up to their necks in sand?

    Not enough sand.
