I hope this is a wakeup call to Brussels, and I hope they listen to the electorate. We need to sort out the shambles that is the EU, my understanding is that the finances have not been signed off for at least 10 yrs if not more. When are they going to get a grip of the shambles that is the expences saga.

Anyone know what the voting turn out was?

I would be surprised if it was anything significant.

If it was? then the result should give cause for concern to the three main parties, come General Election time.

I suspect that most people like myself, did not vote.

What's the point, our MEP's achieve very little, if anything for us and I am damned if I am going to help anyone join the most exclusive club in Europe.

The voting turn-out across the EU is estimated to be 41.3%.

Useful to note that the LibDems were virtually wiped out.

I voted. Haven't done for the past few years. But the sooner we get a party with enough power to get the UK out of the EU......!

It's quite simple...vote UKIP get Labour. Splitting the centre right vote in a first past the post system allows Ed Milliband into No.10.

Actually i'm thinking maybe another term of scungy leftism might be just what this generation needs.

There are huge numbers of voters today who don't remember how SHIT things were under the Jim Callahan government. If we want to clue these little darlings into what leftist policies and handing the soul of your government over to the unions does to the country, voting for Comrade Milliband is the way to go.

After 5 years of constant strikes, power cuts and general leftist bullshit, you'll have another generation who will have learned their lesson and made labour unelectable for the next 20 years.

I would hope you reflect upon your post. If you can’t say something that is constructive, or amusing – best not to say anything IMO.

You will see here that the list of net contributors is quite short outweighed by a larger list of net beneficiaries.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/eu/10823040/EU-elections-2014-What-has-the-European-Union-done-for-us.html

UKIP performance is a translation of the dissatisfaction, felt - not only in the UK, but also in EU member countries that are net contributors to a system where the dogs are being wagged by the tails of the net beneficiaries.

The problem is, that some of the net recipient countries – for example Spain have – “Unlike voters in many European countries, Spaniards rejected parties that favor cutting ties with the European Union. But they gave strong support to antiausterity leftist parties and separatists in Catalonia who favor a referendum on splitting the wealthy region from the rest of Spain”.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/eu/10823040/EU-elections-2014-What-has-the-European-Union-done-for-us.html

So, although they are net recipients funded by others – they wish to continue this status, whilst also rejecting the austerity measures that are being undertaken by their benefactors within the EU.

“vote UKIP get Labour. Splitting the centre right vote in a first past the post system allows Ed Milliband into No.10.”

Possibly, though UKIP have been taking votes from Labour too and slashing the Labour vote (except for London). UKIP's performance in Wales was surprising and even Salmond has a slight problem now that UKIP have a Scottish MEP.

If voters get a sniff that voting for UKIP is no longer a protest vote, then in the unlikely (but also very possible), event that UKIP pick up a lot of votes from LibDems labour and Conservatives (dependent on what happens at Newark) in the next election (say 10 seats) then a hung parliament may be dependent on who UKIP decides to join.

If Labour announce an in/out vote of Europe after the next election, this will torpedo UKIP.

And the replies from the brain dead indoctrinated robotic controlled EU puppets,

    lib/dem--just a protest vote
    Labour--just a protest vote
Cons -- just a protest vote,

Probably a permanent protest vote then,
and if these 3 lose more and more power to UKIP,
    serves em right,
If David gets kicked out, serves him right,
and if clegg end up in some remote hotel, serves him right,
we say, stop talking abt your past elections , votes , by lections , we don't give a dam,
Listen to the people, or soddy offy.
    just my mumble opinion.

I hope everyone else had a good “Vote UKIP” day....... I mean Eu election day.

I am so glad that UKIP did well.

The 3 main parties have not listened to the voters ( and some of them are STILL not listening now ) The facts are staring them in the face and STILL they can not / will not see what we are saying....

Still, why should I care? All 3 have ignored and angered me so much that they will have my vote every again. I don't care that it will be counted as a “Protest” vote or that I have “wasted” my vote..... The LIBLABCON's can kiss my hairy, cracked a*s.

Do something right or be voted out, simple yes?

So why haven't you done anything about until now?

    10&11

The three parties are not “losing power” to UKIP. At the general election even Nigel Farage admits he will be lucky to get 2 or 3 MPS. The balance of power is more likely to be held by the ULster Unionists than UKIP.

It's not the 2-3 MPs that is the issue, it's the other 647 seats which UKIP won't win, but will split the centre right vote.

Look at the Eastleigh by-election...the Lib-dems won because UKIP and the Tories split each others vote.

UKIP do take a handful of Labour votes...consensus is around 1/3 as many as they take from the Tories.

    Vote UKIP get Milliband.

I don't agree with you at all, UKIP are taking votes from all the three main parties, not just Tory.
I think you are right that Labour will probably get in next time with a whatever sliver of the vote the the libdems manage to get , but they have two problems. N01 is Milliband, he is weird and most people think he is weird, although his party will have higher approval ratings than the rest, his personal approval with the British public is lower than Cameron. N02, they are not offering the UK a vote to leave the EU, that is a big mistake for labour, UKIP will be hammering the Immigration problem very loudly at the run up the next election and that is going to be a problem for labour.

The UKIP vote will not drop away in the way you believe it will, it will drop yes but they will come third and that will be at the expense of labour, tory and libdem. It will be very interesting to see who does a deal with who when the time comes.

I will be voting UKIP without a doubt.

As will more and more British.

And what was David's most important action
    Was it---
    1, call parliament together
2, call his government to a meeting
3, run to his masters in Europe..

I want out of the EU, I want nothing more to do with that fetid pile of corrupt, theives and ne' erdowells. Judging by the election results, so do many others right across the UK. So what choice do we have?

What would you have us do?

Would you want us to take comfort from one of Dave's “cast-iron” guarantee's of an in-out referendum?

He said that oh now, remind me.........3 times already and the bill didn't make it through parliament so thanks.....but no thanks.

The lib dem's??? They want to sell the British people down the f**king river so again, thanks but no thanks also, the way things are going, there won't be a Lib Dem party after the next election ( one can only hope )

Labour? The ones who put the British economy in the toilet last time they were in power? Some of their politicians think that we, the public don't remember that they FUBAR ed this country last time so AGAIN, thanks but no thanks.

The ONLY choice we have, THE ONLY CHOICE we have is UKIP. It would seem that common sense and “Listening to the voters” is in short supply at Westminster these days and judging by the reaction of the main 3 parties after the vote, it is STILL in short supply.

So I will be voting UKIP for now and for ever more

    Amen.
