UK physics professor fired from US university for conviction in Argentina on drugs
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill has fired the 70-year-old physics professor who was arrested in 2012 after flying to Argentina to meet the woman who he thought was a former Miss Bikini World and instead was arrested by drug agents after getting entangled in a scheme to smuggle two kilos of cocaine. About 10 years ago, I met 3 Argentine women at a bar - all about 30 years old. Two of them were married and quite attractive, the third was beautiful. “I'm Italian, from Argentina”.
All three had moved to Canada in the past three years - lets say 2002 - 2005.
They were all friendly and fun (it was Customer Appreciation Night and free drinks were abundant).
Talk turned to Argentina - I told them I had responded to an ad for a job building a fibre optic network in Argentina and I was waiting to hear back.
The “Italian girl” said,
“ you will love it there. There are many beautiful girls in Argentina, but BE CAREFUL.
They will tell you anything and do anything for a better life outside Argentina - then when they have what they want, they will leave you, it happens all the time.”
That was 10 years ago - I am not a movie star, nor am I anywhere close to 60, even now.
The “job” turned out to be a scam.
The Italian Girl ? Sorry, that's a story for another day.

@TTT What would you know about Argentine women, or any women? You already told us you have never dated a woman.
I remember reading about this story when it first broke. I think the Professor is high functioning autistic. He may have a brilliant mind but lack social skills and awareness.
You have to remember that people believe what they want to believe even if facts and logic dictate otherwise. Just look at how gullible the K supporters are.
@15 he got a 2:1 which is good. Getting a 1st at Oxford is not easy. You make it sound like he got a 2:2 which he didn't.
