Cold weather shrinks US economy growth in the first quarter

The US economy shrank by an annualized 1% in the first three months of 2014, official estimates have shown. It is the worst economic performance since the first quarter of 2011 and a big fall on the 2.6% rise in economic output in the final quarter of last year. Read full article

    Briton......ecomomists here use every excuse they can come up. Sales are down becasue it is too cold to go out......it's too hot to leave the pool or air conditioning.

    Just like gas prices. “gas prices are spiking because of the last minute holiday rush”.....“gas prices are increasing because no one is travelling and the need to increase margins”. Let's not forget...........Hurricane season has a arrives and a cloud formation started off the African coast in the Eastern Atlantic. This is causing a flurry of activity in the Carribbean basin and prices have started to rise”.

    Economist are like lawyers and my favorites are the ones who do not use oxygen.
