Wow. These events are a historic continuity for Uruguay which since the XIX century has always been open to refugees from all over the world. One might have thought that, after more than a hundred years of being open to refugees, Urineguay might have figured out how to do it. Message to the Syrians. Just hang on. Urineguay says about two weeks. But, under its breath, it said 'Manana'. Call it two months. Maybe. If argieland doesn't object, because the Iranians have told it to, because the Russians have said so, because Assad has asked. Complicated, innit?
Probably a good thing. When they start pissing about (and they will) they can't hide behind the civilised country's laws. South American countries seem to choose what laws to obey and they hopefully won't take any shit from them. IMO
Maybe that's the idea. Stay in a Latin poverty stricken shit hole full of religious freaks or go to a war torn poverty stricken shit hole full of religious freaks? No brainer...Syria every time!
