Not only have Argentina missed the bus by 50 years, completely hijacked and derailed the decolonisation process and have lacked courage to seek arbitration.....But they want to compile their failures into a nicely hard backed bound book! Brilliant!

Does it come with a free Parker pen?

I wonder what it will go for on amazon.....

You say the English cannot read... Have you read the UNGA resolutions on the falklands and other NSGT? .....more importantly their unqualified right to decide their own future?

Pity your name is quite ironic... Some who states they can think but unfortunately cannot.... Maybe you should change your name to racist and give up the charade.

The legal, honest and internationally recognised referendum by the people of the Falkland Islands last year. Which gave overwhelming support to the Falklands remaining a British Overseas Territory.
Shows the world what the Falkland Islanders dersire, for Argentina to leave them alone.
You used military force in 1982 and failed.
Your continued actions have all been failures.
Presumably Timerman running away from talks when he knew Falkland Islanders would be present is not mentioned in the book.

They spewed out shite like this not so long ago.

It was their organised response to a paper published.

Except theirs had this pathetic looking Albatross/Petrel bird thing on the cover which quite wrongly, and dishonestly was trying to poffer the notion, that the Falkland island actually had a question mark regarding who the F they belong to.
As in the F cuking Islanders themselves.

Clearly its desperation time as Cretina runs out of time over her obsession.

I'm assuming that this “sit down and resolve this dispute peacefully” is RG speak for “hand over the islands now you pirates”? I'm assuming that the starting point for these discussions is “hand over this land that is not ours because we want it” and ends “with thanks very much - we've just thieved our way to obtaining the Falklands - so long - suckers”?

I have no idea where such naivety comes from? Drugs?

“the persistent refusal of the UK to resume the bilateral dialogue”

Two important nuances : “resume” and “bilateral”, i.e an admission that the UK has undertaken negotiations in the past, and an admission that it's only bilateral negotiations that the UK refuses now. Pretty soon they'll be admitting the current impasse is down to Argentina's refusal to talk about the Falkland Islands with Falkland Islanders.

Oh my word, the preface written by Timerman is absolute gold. Opening paragraph; three sentences, three lies. Second paragraph, two sentences, two lies.

    Wow.

And apparently 1982 didn't change anything ... right, so had you not been kicked out of the Islands by better men than you'll ever be Timerman, Argentina would have continued to maintain a “sovereignty dispute”!

Priceless! And he's actually written it down. And CFK is listed as an “Authority”. Love it, keep it coming guys.

Another attempt to twist the truth. The book fails to start in the correct period but only from 1833. Lets not forget that it was in 1592 a British man discovered these islands and recorded his findings. Then many years later another Englishman claims the Islands for the king of England and so the list went on right up to good old 1833.

Now strange that it may seem to the argie tripe feeders they never acknowledge these facts that Britain had knowledge of and possession over the Falkland islands over 200 years before Argentina existed.
In the same context they whinge about being kicked out by the British but never acknowledge the fact someone before them had kicked out the British from Port Egmont .
They also do not mention in this fancy new distorted book that to take over the Falklands they would be committing an act of colonisation something that they are so desperate to remove.
Come on you Argentine jokers on here step up and explain exactly how you see yourselves taking over my Country and at the same time denying the fact you are colonising them again.
The truth is none will have an answer because that would be admitting they are wrong in what they are currently perceiving. We are a Country in our own right that enjoys the life of our choosing that is the british way.
We were never discovered by Argentina or ever been a part of Argentina it is all just a desire to own and control territory as they so readily did when they butchered the indigenous people in South America.
Why even in the last forty years they have 30,000 of their own murdered. What kind of human civilisation does that to their own people and what for.
It concerns me to think that we would receive the very same fate if we were to accept their ways. The book goes on to say there needs to be a solution to the problem. There is just let us get on with our way of life and you do the same with yours period.
Has democracy ever been practiced in Argentina my guess is not.

Think- even you know that the first paragraphs are a pack of lies - WHY do you support it then?
We have debated ages ago and proven that the only people evicted from the Islands in Jan 1833 were those of the River Plate militia and their ladies. I know that - you know that - anyone who reads the Naval Archives in your national archives knows that - as does anyone who reads the 1833 British Naval Archives.
So why does your Timmerman still lie about it? I expect most of those he is giving free copies to know it as well!

Then as for the bit about replacing us all every 10 years! - Can you throw any light on where that one came from?!

And some evidence please that Britain agreed with Spain in advance in 177o that they would close down Port Egmont in a few years!

Interesting to see that in neither the Introduction nor the Historical background are there any references to source material beyond the UN resolutions and the Times quote about Hewitt. No bibliography or other reference to verifiable evidence. It's just one unsupported assertion after another. It's not for no reason they are giving the ICJ a wide berth.

”...and can thus overcome the persistent refusal of the UK to resume the bilateral dialogue”

Rubbish. The UN resolutions require the negotiations to consider the interests of the legitimate inhabitants of the Falkland Islands.

A negotiation was planned with those interests represented by a few of those Islanders. Timmerman chose instead to run scared, refusing to acknowledge the Islanders.

Not to mention that the Argentinian position is that the endpoint of negotiations should be them getting what they want. That's capitulation not negotiation.

If the Argentine position had any basis in fact or honesty, they'd negotiate in good faith to find a fair solution that the facts support, with the Islanders being present.

Of course, a fair solution considering the facts would end in them dropping their fake claim, so it's no suprise they don't want that.

Funny how this vast list of supporting organisations consists for the most part of the same Latam cast just wearing different funny hats. It's like Mussolini flying the same aeroplanes round again and again to convince Hitler of his military might.

But can anybody in the Argentine government, even Timerman, Filmus et al, seriously believe that endless lies and straw polls among your mates is a good way to convince any serious opponent to commit political suicide?

Are we really seeing here an analysis and strategy even more incompetent than that of the junta in 1982, or is the aim simply to wind up the haters and the gullible?

I'm betting the latter, it seems to work here at least.

What an amazing book. I couldn't wait to put it down! I think the most amusing part of the whole publication is that I thought argieland was broke. Isn't that what it says? If it's forced to pay the hedge funds, it will go into default. How did it afford to pay for this drivel?

Glancing through the “index” my first reaction was that all the “Resolutions and Declarations” are irrelevant. That was before I tried to read timidgirl's “introduction”, where I noted the same number of lies as mentioned by Orbit.

I have little doubt that timidgirl could trot this stuff out in his sleep. He probably does! But why would a “foreign minister” not know that title belongs to the state that first lands. Or that the papal bull has been disavowed by the Holy See. No doubt his ignorance extends to his lack of knowledge that, at the end of an armed conflict, territory belongs to the party in possession. It's called “uti possidetis”. A principle confirmed by the ICJ. So, timidgirl, you can forget anything before 14 June 1982!

Incidentally, it also cancels everything after that date. Because it has to start from the basic fact that the Islands are British. Wonder how timidgirl will get round that? Since his “Historical Background” appears to start in 1520, we must now say that anything from 1520 to 1982 is irrelevant. Overtaken by “uti possidetis” and 258 British and Falklands lives. Where exactly does argieland's “title” and “claim” come from now?

But there is an important question that I need answered. When the Falkland Islands Government sends its regular delegation to the “hearings” of the C-24 Committee for Argie Colonisation, why does it never distribute copies of Pascoe and Pepper's paper; http://www.falklandshistory.org/false-falklands-history.pdf ? Why doesn't it point out the ICJ determination of “uti possidetis” in the 1986 Case Burkina-Faso v Mali? Why doesn't it demand to speak last and/or in rebuttal?

They have made a document, and in it they have put their un-documentable lies so there isn't a real historical document anywhere to be seen.. sort of the Malvinas are ours because we say so... no good. Wont' wash.. . you will have to do better. And stop digging yourselves in to a hole. It was wrong to invade an unarmed country while they were carrying out talks, a cowardly thing to do the “Gesta de Malvinas” how can they be proud of that and that doesn't give them any rights.
The Falklands dispute can't be solved in the Falklands it can be solved only in Argentina by stopping the brainwashing and telling the truth.

Rather than set out a few dodgy quotes from a few dodgy here today gone tomorrow politicians, it would be better for baldy man to put forward why his Country has any rights to the Falkland Islands given that the people who live there want nothing to do with him or his economically challenged nation. As for South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands they are a British and he has no argument whatsoever. It's a bit like the UK claiming Patagonia and getting the International community to support talks.

It's opening line is a lie...and it continues to lie.

No Argentine residents were expelled on 3rd of January and nor were any Argentine authorities.

The crew of the SS Sarandi were expelled on 3rd January 1833, having arrived 6 weeks earlier. The only one of the crew who had any title bestowed on him was Eateban Mestevier who had been butchered by his own crew in mutiny, and his wife raped in front of their children.

Had that been the opening paragraph, perhaps a more honest and worthwhile publication would've been made.

In October 1989 the UK and Argentina issued a joint statement the text of which is available here:
    faolex.fao.org/docs/pdf...

I believe it is worth repeating item 2 (ii) here and it reads:

“No act or activity carried out by the United Kingdom, the Argentine Republic or third parties as a consequence and in implementation of anything agreed to in the present meeting or in any similar subsequent meetings shall constitute a basis for affirming, supporting, or denying the position of the United Kingdom or the Argentine Republic regarding the sovereignty or territorial and maritime jurisdiction over the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands and the surrounding maritime areas”

In other words Argentina and the UK have agreed that nothing anyone else says can be taken as supporting or denying the positions of Argentina and the UK with respect to the sovereignty of the Falklands. That does not mean that illegal methods can be used to settle the dispute

In view of that how much longer does anyone think that agreement will hold? I do not believe that this agreement has been ratified by the RGland congress.

That all being said the following extract from item 3 of the Statement may shed some light on why RGland has not yet revoked the statement:

“The two Governments noted that all hostilities between them had ceased. Each
Government undertook not to pursue any claim against the other, including nationals of the other, in respect of loss or damage arising from the hostilities and all other actions in and around the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the South
    Sandwich Island:; before 1989.”

To revoke the agreement would seem to open the doors for the British to claim for mine clearing in the Falklands among a good many other damages.
    .
Why then is the UK government silent on this crap from CFK,
Why can’t they tell CFK that they either stop all this rhetoric or the UK will revoke the agreement?
    Rather than just keeping silent.??
    .

    What a site.

I particularly liked their version on the battle of Goose Green.

Fighting againstcourageously against overwhelming odds, despite outnumbering the paras nearly 3 too 1.

Paras better armed, yeah, it was them spraying the gorse with 20mm AA guns.

47 Brits and 17 Argentines killed, no it was other way round you lying shits!

Then there's the description of one of their officers being killed defending Stanley, shouting La Patria and fuck you, as he died, to be and I quote, Carried from Porto Argentina by angels up to heaven. Reading it, you could almost hear the symphony orchestra playing in the background.

JESUS CHRIST, IS THAT HOW THEY VIEWED THE WAR! Like some fucking Verdi opera!

In all seriousness, I would encourage you all to open his link, click on the stories listed on the right side.

They are an eye opener. Never read such a distorted, twisted, doctored, one sided version of what war is really like.

On a positive side, it helps me understand why they think the way they do.

Straight out of the Joseph Goebells handbook.

Blatantly obvious, they had never been involved in a major conflict for more than a century, their version of war is naive.

    Silly bastards, glorify it!

To them, War is a joke,
no wonder they have no respect.

So why should we respect them.

I've been trying to find out which salvage firm/branch of the RN got Invincible off the sea bed 3 4 or 5 times (whatever it was), and I thought by now the UK government would have released the files on the secret salvage missions.

Desperate people will go to desperate lengths to get what they want even if it means lying, cheating, bullying, back stabbing, distorting real truth all of which can be found in this book http://mrecic.gov.ar/userfiles/la_comunidad_internacional_y_la_cuestion_malvinas_eng.pdf. nothing but twisted accounts deliberately trying to portray what actually never happened. Conveniently avoiding the truth to suit their needs. I feel sorry for the children of Argentina who continue to be taught a lie.

One day it will all back fire and Argentina will be exposed for what it has become. You are no better than the Jackass Penguin. Always digging yourself into a hole and then stealing your neighbours home.

Ah....another attempt to pollute the english language with a book full of racism, hypocrisy and lies. The pen surely is mightier than the sword in the Dark Country...although that probably has a little bit more to do with the parlous state of the Argentinian military rather than Argentinian literary prowess.
Talking of which I do enjoy the power of adjectives to change the meaning of nouns. For example try this:
Foreign Minister usually means something specific whilst “Argentinian” Foreign Minister means something completely different. Or the noun Debt when preceded by the adjective “Argentinian” means something completely opposite. Or the word truth or the word Policeman or the word Soldier or the word promise. A single adjective changes the entire meaning. Truly the word “Argentinian” is mighty powerful indeed in the English language.

Kelperabout-maybe-but I've never had the guts to stick my finger down a Jackass burrow and have never seen a white flag emerge from one.

@75 and what is an 'Argentine' flag? A blue and white striped one with a smiley emoticon or just pure white?

Think I saw a white flag emerging from one of those holes in a photo somewhere. Maybe it was not a jackass hole but one of those mud filled Argie trenches . So easy to get it wrong because the Argentines when they were running away covered in mud with deathly white faces kind of resembled the old Jackass. Mind you The Jackass is braver than the Argentines because they seldom run out of their holes when threatened but usually put up a very good fight. But here I go again I keep forgetting that the Jackass has more fight in him than the Argentine army had. As for the flag to wipe the boots on , not sure if it would last to long as the material is a bit like some of these whingers we see on here. A lot of hot air but no substance and are soon worn down by constant bombardment .

If it's such an important book, why has it got “Dandy” as the title?
