Pretty soon they'll be admitting the current impasse is down to Argentina's refusal to talk about the Falkland Islands with Falkland Islanders.

Another attempt to twist the truth. The book fails to start in the correct period but only from 1833. Lets not forget that it was in 1592 a British man discovered these islands and recorded his findings. Then many years later another Englishman claims the Islands for the king of England and so the list went on right up to good old 1833.

They also do not mention in this fancy new distorted book that to take over the Falklands they would be committing an act of colonisation something that they are so desperate to remove.

Why even in the last forty years they have 30,000 of their own murdered. What kind of human civilisation does that to their own people and what for.
It concerns me to think that we would receive the very same fate if we were to accept their ways. The book goes on to say there needs to be a solution to the problem. There is just let us get on with our way of life and you do the same with yours period.
Has democracy ever been practiced in Argentina my guess is not.

I know that - you know that - anyone who reads the Naval Archives in your national archives knows that - as does anyone who reads the 1833 British Naval Archives.
So why does your Timmerman still lie about it? I expect most of those he is giving free copies to know it as well!
Then as for the bit about replacing us all every 10 years! - Can you throw any light on where that one came from?!
And some evidence please that Britain agreed with Spain in advance in 177o that they would close down Port Egmont in a few years!

Interesting to see that in neither the Introduction nor the Historical background are there any references to source material beyond the UN resolutions and the Times quote about Hewitt. No bibliography or other reference to verifiable evidence. It's just one unsupported assertion after another. It's not for no reason they are giving the ICJ a wide berth.

Jun 10th, 2014 - 07:31 am - Link - Report abuse 0Rubbish. The UN resolutions require the negotiations to consider the interests of the legitimate inhabitants of the Falkland Islands.
A negotiation was planned with those interests represented by a few of those Islanders. Timmerman chose instead to run scared, refusing to acknowledge the Islanders.
Not to mention that the Argentinian position is that the endpoint of negotiations should be them getting what they want. That's capitulation not negotiation.
If the Argentine position had any basis in fact or honesty, they'd negotiate in good faith to find a fair solution that the facts support, with the Islanders being present.
Of course, a fair solution considering the facts would end in them dropping their fake claim, so it's no suprise they don't want that.
Funny how this vast list of supporting organisations consists for the most part of the same Latam cast just wearing different funny hats. It's like Mussolini flying the same aeroplanes round again and again to convince Hitler of his military might.

Jun 10th, 2014 - 10:34 am - Link - Report abuse 0Glancing through the “index” my first reaction was that all the “Resolutions and Declarations” are irrelevant. That was before I tried to read timidgirl's “introduction”, where I noted the same number of lies as mentioned by Orbit.
I have little doubt that timidgirl could trot this stuff out in his sleep. He probably does! But why would a “foreign minister” not know that title belongs to the state that first lands. Or that the papal bull has been disavowed by the Holy See. No doubt his ignorance extends to his lack of knowledge that, at the end of an armed conflict, territory belongs to the party in possession. It's called “uti possidetis”. A principle confirmed by the ICJ. So, timidgirl, you can forget anything before 14 June 1982!
Incidentally, it also cancels everything after that date. Because it has to start from the basic fact that the Islands are British. Wonder how timidgirl will get round that? Since his “Historical Background” appears to start in 1520, we must now say that anything from 1520 to 1982 is irrelevant. Overtaken by “uti possidetis” and 258 British and Falklands lives. Where exactly does argieland's “title” and “claim” come from now?
But there is an important question that I need answered. When the Falkland Islands Government sends its regular delegation to the “hearings” of the C-24 Committee for Argie Colonisation, why does it never distribute copies of Pascoe and Pepper's paper; http://www.falklandshistory.org/false-falklands-history.pdf ? Why doesn't it point out the ICJ determination of “uti possidetis” in the 1986 Case Burkina-Faso v Mali? Why doesn't it demand to speak last and/or in rebuttal?
Well, well, no surprises here. Oh but maybe, just one. No mention of Timmerman or Filmus sending a copy to each of the residents of the Falklands Islands. Guido di Tella would have had the good grace to have despatched copies promptly. When will they learn?

The crew of the SS Sarandi were expelled on 3rd January 1833, having arrived 6 weeks earlier. The only one of the crew who had any title bestowed on him was Eateban Mestevier who had been butchered by his own crew in mutiny, and his wife raped in front of their children.
Had that been the opening paragraph, perhaps a more honest and worthwhile publication would've been made.
Perhaps the British government should get its finger out.

I believe it is worth repeating item 2 (ii) here and it reads:
“No act or activity carried out by the United Kingdom, the Argentine Republic or third parties as a consequence and in implementation of anything agreed to in the present meeting or in any similar subsequent meetings shall constitute a basis for affirming, supporting, or denying the position of the United Kingdom or the Argentine Republic regarding the sovereignty or territorial and maritime jurisdiction over the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands and the surrounding maritime areas”
In other words Argentina and the UK have agreed that nothing anyone else says can be taken as supporting or denying the positions of Argentina and the UK with respect to the sovereignty of the Falklands. That does not mean that illegal methods can be used to settle the dispute
In view of that how much longer does anyone think that agreement will hold? I do not believe that this agreement has been ratified by the RGland congress.
That all being said the following extract from item 3 of the Statement may shed some light on why RGland has not yet revoked the statement:
“The two Governments noted that all hostilities between them had ceased. Each
Government undertook not to pursue any claim against the other, including nationals of the other, in respect of loss or damage arising from the hostilities and all other actions in and around the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the South
Sandwich Island:; before 1989.”
To revoke the agreement would seem to open the doors for the British to claim for mine clearing in the Falklands among a good many other damages.

Conveniently avoiding the truth to suit their needs. I feel sorry for the children of Argentina who continue to be taught a lie.

Ah....another attempt to pollute the english language with a book full of racism, hypocrisy and lies. The pen surely is mightier than the sword in the Dark Country...although that probably has a little bit more to do with the parlous state of the Argentinian military rather than Argentinian literary prowess.

Foreign Minister usually means something specific whilst “Argentinian” Foreign Minister means something completely different. Or the noun Debt when preceded by the adjective “Argentinian” means something completely opposite. Or the word truth or the word Policeman or the word Soldier or the word promise. A single adjective changes the entire meaning. Truly the word “Argentinian” is mighty powerful indeed in the English language.

Think I saw a white flag emerging from one of those holes in a photo somewhere. Maybe it was not a jackass hole but one of those mud filled Argie trenches . So easy to get it wrong because the Argentines when they were running away covered in mud with deathly white faces kind of resembled the old Jackass. Mind you The Jackass is braver than the Argentines because they seldom run out of their holes when threatened but usually put up a very good fight. But here I go again I keep forgetting that the Jackass has more fight in him than the Argentine army had. As for the flag to wipe the boots on , not sure if it would last to long as the material is a bit like some of these whingers we see on here. A lot of hot air but no substance and are soon worn down by constant bombardment .
