An Argentine prosecutor who was suspended for 'ill performance' in his investigation into the dealings of one of President Cristina Fernandez close business associates, received a massive support Wednesday evening from demonstrators who marched in downtown Buenos Aires to the Attorney General's Office. I have to say that it was quite large and impressive to see. The people that hate this women and her minons is very large. This the SCOTUS ruling and the World Cup is the only things on the the news here. They will be crazy to remove him but also have no choice. Her charges will come with the new government......by then she will be living in Cuba or Veneuela.
Jun 19th, 2014 - 09:34 am - Link - Report abuse 0I agree with this. This is no time to be investigating anything. Argentina is under attack by the international community.
Jun 19th, 2014 - 09:35 am - Link - Report abuse 0We should take the example of the other countries of the world, for example the UK and USA, which have conducted a grand total of zero investigations into Tony Blair and George W. Bush for their deliberate criminal activity and lies in order to pursue war.
@4 Why are you not in bed? Don't you have work/school to go to in the morning?
Jun 19th, 2014 - 09:57 am - Link - Report abuse 0@3 You are right, she will have to leave office before there is a full investigation. There will be one and the next government will most likely be elected on the promise of one.
Unfortunately for CFK, her health problems rather rule out Venezuela and Cuba. They are exacerbated by the climate there. Her doctors insisted she leave Venezuela before Chavez's funeral for that reason. So, I am not sure where she will go.
Ah, but the truth slowly showing signs of out with. Argentina is slowly, but surely, coming under attack from within (correction at #4 above) and the masses need to rise up a little more and free the country before all around will chaos fall.

Jun 19th, 2014 - 10:05 am - Link - Report abuse 0...no time to be investigating anything. Argentina is under attack by the international community.
There is ALWAYS time to investigate corruption. Using the excuse that other countries don't do something is PATHETIC.
No one is attacking Argentina. Argentina's chickens are coming home to roost.
Nostrils you are a VICTIM. Seems you enjoy your country being one too.

She could go there.
Assange would throw himself into the arms of the Met within the week and beg them to send him to the US, probably offer to pay his own fare.
My guess is that CFK and her main lackeys will try and attempt a legal clause exonerating them from investigation and prosecution, whenever they are removed from office, or voted out.
Jun 19th, 2014 - 10:13 am - Link - Report abuse 0In the long run a Truth Commission will find them all guilty of corruption, and exceeding their authority.

@4 Argieland needs to be brought down. Not to its knees, but down on its belly with its face in the ordure where it belongs. Under attack? You ain't seen nothing. Adopt the argie stance. Take the crap argie goods and then refuse to pay. Abrogate every treaty with argieland. Isolate faggotland. Dig up the argie garbage in the Falklands and dump it in the ocean to be eaten. Dig up the argie mines, carefully, and return them to argieland. Low-level flights to ensure that argies can also enjoy their landmines. And, while waiting to have your legs, arms and dick (if any) blown off, it's only right that you should be able to listen to your glorious leader being arrested, imprisoned, having her ill-gotten gains seized and sentenced to 50 years. Mustn't miss EVERY argie being sentenced for war crimes. Life imprisonment, digging. 80% of grown foodstuffs seized. Get by. Suffer! At least 80% of the argie population is surplus.

Jun 19th, 2014 - 04:38 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Maybe, but before that I'm betting the UK will be blown to pieces by ISIS.
@21
It certainly won't be the USA tho.
NML is so shortsighted, one would think, but they are not. They were never interested in the money. They only goal is to destroy nations. Always has been, they are a particularly vile group.
Think about it... WHY would NML know less than our resident parrot yankeeboy the horse stall cleaner? (he lives in a shed within the estate of some New York mogul or something like that). Yankeeboy claims there are no funds at the BCRA. *If* that is so, if yankeeboy knows this, Singer and Co. MUST know this fact too.
In which case demanding full payment and forcing the country to default would make no sense, if they really just want the most money they can get as they claim, because in this scenario they would always see LESS money. And a whole new process of debt restructuring would take some years and the more time passes, the less likely they will see anything.
It would be in their interest to work something out, yet they refuse. Either they are really dumb or they are just interested in inflicting damage since they know they won't see the money.
On Argentina's side, declaring in plain and succinct terms they will not be able to make payment is somewhat intelligent, since there is an outside chance that it will bring the other bondholders, as well as governments and international institutions to put pressure on NML in the next week to avoid a default (an official default will not occur on June 30th but july 30th because according to law one has 30 days past due date to pay).
So Argentina is now probably betting the next 6 weeks can be used to cook Singer in world public opinion and paint him as the intransigent one. It is smart and it is the only strategy if Argentina wants to avoid default, which I think we should declare anyway and stop paying EVERYONE, FOREVER.
As long as CFK is in power, she'll continue to consider herself above the law, and send anyone who disputes this fact, into total ostracism. If the opposition gets in at the end of the year, she'd better pack her bags and get the hell out.

The answer is NO
They may have U$6B and that's being very generaous.
PLUS a big portion of that is owned to Int'l companies that were promised they could xfer it out in August.
I guess that won't be happening
BYE BYE Auto Mfgs
Then what?
This case will be a headache, and a nightmare. for CFK and her gang since 2016 onwards. They are trying to take advantage of the time while are ruling the country to slow down the justice.
Jun 19th, 2014 - 05:27 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Let me tell you that in my last vacations in Argentina (year 2013) I went to El Chalten, a lovely and small town patagonia located 200/300 km far from El Calafate. in the province of Santa Cruz. There I saw a luxurious hotel that local people said was from CFK, by the way it was the only luxurious hotel in El Chalten, built and finished but with no commercial activity at all. Some months ago, reading about this investigation it appeared that CFK is renting it to some patagonian construction companies that have contracts with the national government. The thing is that not only the hotel is not functioning at all but also most of the rooms are permanently rented by these companies in a sort of installments..so this is simply a fund transference from the national budget to CFK account.
There is no way that she can scape from this..she will finished like Carlos Menem ended, as the first democratic president found guilty of corruption.
33
Jun 19th, 2014 - 05:36 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Menem finished in a much better way than CFK is going to finish, he left gov’t and the system endured at least a year and a half more. I would wish that the opposition grew up some balls in these hours and openly call for her resignation like she did with DLR in December 2001.
She is completely incapable of how to manage the situation and doesn’t know what to do.
All the last movements of the last few months were aimed at convincing SCOUTUS to take the case or consult the US gov’t kicking the can down the road. I think that was the only real plan they ever had. Now its over
@33 Yeah, I tried to book into one of her hotels a couple of years back and it was 'full' out of season. The place was deserted.

Jun 19th, 2014 - 05:43 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It is worse than what you think. The anticipated elections is a smoke screen. Things are far worse than what happened in 1989 or 2001 for that matter.
In early 2002, devaluation let us at least start creating new jobs. This time, that is not going to work.
They need to keep some sort of status-quo until they finish manipulating what little is left of the judicial system and settle on some agreements with their hidden (or not so hidden) business partners.

Jun 19th, 2014 - 05:58 pm - Link - Report abuse 0But dont forget that calling for Anticipated elections is a ultimate political defeat like what happaned to Alfonsin. Remember that Peronist will only follow the Kicillof and Kretina to the gates of the crypt but will not walk inside with them. And after she goes there is a huge power vacuum
Scioli, Massa and Macri and the rest are worried about what may be her crazy move further into abyss.
40.
Jun 19th, 2014 - 06:10 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Yes of course, I wish also that nothing that extreme happens but neither Scioli, Massa or Macri will be willing to handle the hot piece of iron if she resigns. So it really boils down to find another Duhalde ... and I don't think there is one available this time.
Anyway, the auto-coup has always been in the Ks arsenal. Like at war time, the last thing you want to use is a nuke, but times come when you have no other option.
In this case, the US supreme court decision not to take the case caught them off guard. I don't believe they seriously thought a SCOTUS ruling would favor Argentina, but they certainly expected some more time to finish Operation Cleanup.
Hold the anticipated elections idea on stand by for now Im not sure if she will leave like DLR or give a month or two for anticipated elections like Alfonsin did in the late 1980s... Wait for the Assis blog (if it is not attacked and hacked by the intelligence services again) to release what off the record comments are leaking in Balcarce 50 and Olivos.
Jun 19th, 2014 - 06:22 pm - Link - Report abuse 0She may also be throwing a fuss and end up paying and blaming everybody else. However she wont be able to govern as the way she likes if she chooses this path and that is what may push her to the first option
Peronism is a regime to control the country. Is basically the best way the corrupt leaders found to rule the country and become rich. Resigning or calling for anticipate ellections will accept that the country is out of their control. Doing this will send them to a political ostracism such a the UCR. So, they would never do taht, they cannot do that....the political and economic order of Argentina will be finished..this cannot be accepted by the political oligarchy...

@43 It's impossible for Peronism to be ostracized, they control too many people. All they need to keep control is to flex their muscles like in 75 and 89, they will cut payings to the police, the mafia and the trade unions gangsters, they will loot and shut down transport in the whole country then they will get people to vote whoever they want out of fear of civil war. There isn't any real alternative to Peronism anyway.

Jun 20th, 2014 - 03:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Although i don't agree on mercopress's editorial line, i have always said that it's a serious website, due to most it's articles aren't partial. However this time, this article can't be more partial and shamefull. Anyway, i won't commit the stupid mistake of analizing a news with the pathetic doble standard, characteristic of our hegemonical press (clarín, la nación and perfil). Clarin presents campagnoli as a heroe who tried to investigate the soposed corruption of a kirchnerist bussiness man, but omits the other denounces against him, for having committed flagrant abuses in other causes, that's why he accused by the procuraduria.
It's well known that all those people who are accused of any delit, are inocent, untill justice shows the contrary, at the moment, campagnoli is inocent. However, the pathetic doble standard, can be seen in the shamefull manipulation that those corporate newspapers make in relation to the accusation against vicepresident boudou, they all have already considered that he is guilty, and the most pathetic of this situation, is that the same ridiculous politicians who support campagnoli, are the same who ask for boudous' renounce, it's evident that the doble standard of those cretins, doesn't let them see that at the moment, boudou isn't less inocent than campagnoli, due to justice hasn't shown yet that he used his influences, in order to get the ciccone factory. Beyond the empathy, or the rejection that anybody can feel for c. f. k's government, of for campagnoli., what we can't do, is to buy so easily the shamefull operations of any newspapers, otherwise, many people will continue to be missinformed, and it will be necesary to remind once and again, something so obvious like that everybody is inocent, untill justice shows the contrary.
