Full article 31 comments

Mercosur and Celac country-members expressed support for Argentina and its ongoing litigation with the holdout hedge funds, particularly last week's decision from the US Supreme Court, (which refused to consider the case), and the financial consequences emerging from such a position. I didn't see CELAC support for Argentina's position.

Should I read between the lines?

I bet none of them would support Argentina if they were owed money by them.

    @1 Anglotino

Yup you're right, I couldn't find a statement from CELAC stating that they support Argentina at all. More BS from the Argentine muppet state.

Why don't they put their money where their mouth is supposed to be and lend their Argentinian brothers the money.

Like that is ever going to happen and we all know why?

Because they damn well know for sure, they would only see about 30% of it ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!

There must be “ lost in translation ” going on here, Latam countries on the side of Argentina, surely not. About time foreign aid is looked at in the context of who supports who. Might find a different tune.

Something deffinately wrong in translation, the headline says they support them in the litigation.

    What ongoing litigation?

    There is none.

SCOTUS was it. There is no further legal recourse to the US judicial system!

There's no more “ongoing litigation” why don't these retards understand this?
It was over with the last judgement.
Now it is time to pay.

Does this photo remind anybody else of a unisex “Last Supper”.

I think we all know Judas is now Judy and just look at her expression as she looks at the Cowpat. Predator 3 coming I reckon.

The text of this article is laughable and unworthy of further comment: just enjoy the comedy!

Of course all the nations of North and South America and the Caribbean support not paying your bills.
Perhaps only the US and Canada pay their bills on time, and they're the only ones that cannot afford to be seen to support 'paying back only 30% of what you owe'.

They should definitely have a whip round and help out their 'brothers'. They should be united and show their support in more than words. If there really is solidarity then Argentina will see a few billion in donations in the next week.

However, in a poll before the WCFs ………..

”Which Country Is Your Least Favorite in the World Cup?
Across Latin America, Argentina has the most people rooting against it.

Chileans (20%), Colombians (14%), Costa Ricans (7%), Mexicans (6%) making Argentina the most disliked of the competing Latin American teams.
The dislike seems to stem from Argentina’s soccer history and the way in which neighbors in Latin America have reacted to how some Argentines projected their perceptions of economic and cultural superiority in the region“.

Which is a bit unfair because when people from other Latin American countries visit Argentina they quickly realise the superiority is a complete myth. As one Chilean friend remarked to me, ”They are a lot poorer than I realised”.

Elaine one does not have to go far outside any city to see just how poor they are and how poorly maintained the localities are managed.
Two things are true.....they have to be the worst drivers as NO ONE follows rules and hold a door open for a stranger and you will never hear a gracias.

So I wake up this morning and all over the threads here the trash EVERYTHIG argies and argentina love-fest is in full swing I see.

The funny thing is these irrelevant Anglos think Argentines give a fuck what they, the other Euros, the Latin Americans or the NorthAmians think of us.

You are nobodies, a waste of space, to us. Europe and NorthAmia would be better served if you all were GONE. Leave it to the animals to claim back. The other Latin Americans are animals already so they don't disrupt the environment.

We are going to let our enemies kill themselves and sit back and watch.
We did exactly what we needed to do.
    Are you really that dumb?

Maybe you don't remember me telling you what will happen in the Mid East but you can go back because we've talked about this before.
My thought was that when the USA is no longer dependent on their oil we'd let them go back to tribal warfare and killing themselves.
If you look through the MP posts I am sure you can find it and that prediction was a long time ago way before this current flare up.

And well deserved, for getting into their business. You deserve to suffer.

@15,17,19,21. Just as a matter of interest, do you think you will “wake up” next month or next year? You need to think. Who could destroy you? Every single one of you. And who would step forward to save you? I wouldn't. I'd see you die. Every one of you.

I see the title of this piece has changed from 'supporting' Argentina to 'standing by' them.

In other words, these organisations are going to do NOTHING at all but send some soothing placating sounds to the 'lunatic on the bus' of South America - Argentina.

Bloody CELAC, who holds their irrelevant junkets in Cuba, whilst calling for freedom and democracy, whilst staying silent about the chaos, murder and repression in Venezuela, supposedly supports Argentina against a legal ruling.

    What new fuckery is this?

    Or old bullshit perhaps.

Meaninglessness drivel from the land of magical-realism.

    Sadly. ....
