The Falkland Islands have been nominated and are finalists in the Travel Agents Choice Awards sponsored by “Selling Travel Magazine” in the UK. (Previously known as Selling Long Haul Magazine), announced the Falkland Islands Tourism Board. The Falkland Islands have been nominated for “Best Destination for Wildlife and Nature”.
The awards are 100% decided by travel retailers who will vote for the winner by 8 October 2014.
All of the finalists will be announced in the September issue of “Selling Travel” followed by an industry wide awards party on 25th September at which the Falkland Islands will be represented.
The awards voting closes on 8th October with the winners announced on-line 15th October and with the awards being presented the “Selling Travel Awards Ceremony” during World Travel Market in November.
Tony Mason, Managing Director of the Falkland Islands Tourist Board, confirmed this is the first such award where the Falkland Islands have reached the “finalist stage” and he is looking forward to the awards ceremony in November where he hopes to bring home the award for the Falkland Islands.
“The Falkland Islands tourism industry at large has done a fantastic job promoting the Islands and you certainly deserve this nomination!”
