All ready in Uruguay to receive Guantanamo prisoners, but public opinion is divided
Uruguay will be receiving very soon six men who have spent more than a decade locked up without charge at the US base at Guantánamo Bay in Cuba. The prisoners have been offered a refuge in Uruguay, where President José Mujica agreed as a humanitarian gesture to accept men that the U.S. has decided do not pose a threat but cannot return to their homelands. Have those of you who come from democratic countries where the rule of law is paramount forgotten the concept of “innocent until proved guilty”? The U.S. has been unable to prove them guilty even while resorting to regular torture sessions.

Guantanamo is a special status is like a ship that never gets to port is specially design to eliminate terrorist and when you get them in Uruguay they will form the special enclave of terrorism in Montevideo or Ciudad del Este (Three frontiers) and only then will send the CIA to eliminate them like we should.

So I think is brilliant to send them to a place were they can be reachable, like Uruguay and in the process they may convince some locals to joint them in their struggle and then it will be Uruguay's problem and perhaps only then Uruguay will joint the struggle against this thugs and send them all to their 77 virgins.

No, most certainly not, however I consider that the western rule of law is for essentially law abiding people who have within them a few ‘bad eggs’ that need to be made subject to the force of law.
Yes, there will be ‘innocents’ if anybody caught within such a sweep can be totally ‘innocent’ that was made in the acknowledged terrorist areas by US and UK military.
However the vast majority of these people are medieval maniacs whose sole object in life is to kill all Kafirs (non believers) for Allah and the prophet Mohammad (faeces and urine be upon him). They do not recognise western law or values, only the Quran which comes down to kill everybody not like us.
I firmly believe we should apply THEIR intent back on them.
When, like me, you miss death at the hands of these cretins by less than 15 minutes (London bus bombing) they deserve to meet Allah. I certainly do not want this vermin in the same country as my wife and me: we had enough of that in the UK.

They are not innocent and deserve the same punishment they were trying to inflict on others.

When the US ambassador here first announced the agreement, she commented that the prisoners coming here would not be dangerous. Unbelievably the Uruguay government and some of the population actually accept that delusional statement. Torture aside, If I had been held in the grim custody of Guantanamo for a decade+ I am sure I would be angry and VERY dangerous once I was released to roam freely on another continent.
