It would be interesting to see the firgures that prove investing in the stock market outperformed buying $US. Did they include inflation indexing and the cost of risk?

I do hope Judge Griesa takes the logical action. Argieland has discharged its legal responsibilities and “paid” the bondholders, right? So argieland has no title to the half a billion dollars it deposited in the Bank of New York Mellon. It could be disbursed at the direction of the court. So pay NML. Argieland needs to find another half a billion dollars. He ho, and off to court we go.

“ the celebration of Buenos Aires Stock Market 160th anniversary.”

I wonder how long it will be before the stock market is ruined by this stupid, stupid person?

Not long the way she is going.

Let us be open about this situation.
Argentina does not have the money of 1.3 Billion USD to pay to 61,000 bondholders around the world.
Creditors some day and some how will be pay one day; just do not know when, but utilizing bonds as method of payment. naturally is alarm, because it means to wait another decade to see if creditors might be paid.

Next door in Chile, you can hold your bank deposits in Chilean Pesos, UF, Dollars, Euros....
It's far better to live in a free market economy...

Actually, its pretty clever. Change the location of the settlement from New York to Argieland.

Tell the holdouts they'll get 100% and all they have to do is come and get it.

    And... they certainly will....

    “this yegua is stealing”
Insulting the noble equine mares of the world by insinuating Cristina is of their class is truly insulting.

And yesterday the blue dollar hit almost 14 pesos. People are investing in US dollars at any price because the peso will be worth nothing very very soon. Maybe an economist could explain this to kretina. The people are looking after themselves.

Fortunately we have some dollars. When we have to purchase we roll down on Florida Street and negotiate for some pesos.. Dollar denominated, we get basically a 40% discount on peso denominated purchases. Cristina has gone off her meds again.
