More export markets surrendered by Argentina.

And happily taken up by other countries.

Does anyone here proof read what they write?

At this rate the cattle farmers expect Paraguay to be exporting the equivalent of 4 billion dollars in beef by 2010.

Its not that Argentina, with its massive competitive advantages can't reconquer very easily the markets from these small countries with the right policies, but now it will take time.

Argentina, what can we say about them?

    Ha, ha, ha, ha.

Little Uruguay at 5, massive but mismanaged Argentina a 11!

There's one mad cow that should be slaughtered before she infects the country further.

Yeah but how much of what Uruguay takes over in beef and dairy from Argentina, Argentina makes up in soy and derivates??
Argentinas farming economy is incredibly elastic.

The revenge of Francia's ghost. In 1815, the Portenos were blockading the export of beef to Paraguay, “by which it subsists.” Francia turned the situation around and by the late 1820's was exporting beef to Brazil, making up 20% of the Paraguayan trade, while the price for ordinary Paraguayan citizens dropped. I can hear the laughter all the way from the depths of the Rio Paraguay where his body was dumped

Sure, but unfortunately the farmers are stockpiling their soy due to the actions of you know who...

#4. Yes, the mad cow needs to be put down.

I'm still blown away that India is the second largest beef exporter in the world.
(I checked the statistic and it's correct.)

Despite being a net beef importer, Chile is a beef exporter to specialized high paying markets including Europe. (Chilean beef is actually more expensive than imported.)

It's never a good thing to put all one's eggs in one basket. It has been the downfall of many a country to rely too much on one export product. Diversify.

Arg farmers are simply stockpiling on soy because they know that another mega devaluation is imminent.

Its really hard to tell because of the magnitude of Argentina.Dairy farms where closing down at record levels and going into agriculture soy mainly, but the Holando cows ended up being bought over by bigger dairies in the last few years. So milk production has remained the same

It would be interesting to know the averrage gross output in US$ per hectare in Chaco and Formosa Provinces vs the ones in Paraguay or the same comparison between Entre Rios and Buenos vs the whole of Uruguay can be made. I think that would be far more telling

not a surprise the production and exportation of beef have declined to its minimum.
kirchner, moreno, fernandez de kirchner and the pathetic duet, costa and casamiquela, have done all to achieve it in a relatively short period of time.
anyway, you cannot compare the quality of argentine beef with the paraguayan, chilean, peruvian, etc.
in terms of quality, they do not exist.

Of course , if only Britain agreed to sit down and negotiate over the future of the Malvinas , all this would change , and the default would disappear too .

Sure they export a lot and it's cheap but it tastes like buffalo meat. I can't eat it. I prefer to pay more for Chilean beef.
