Question: If an Argentine infantry platoon is firing on the range, where is the safest place to hide?

Answer: In front of the targets.

They could have been sharing the science,They could have been sharing the squid, they could have been sharing the oil industry supply contracts.
Instead the Argentine Government are robbing and embezzling the people, ruining the country and worst of all, borrowing from the Chinese.
Its down hill all the way !

Squid war or any kind of war my guess is Argentina loses.

It is always a safe bet to bet against Argentina succeeding in anything.

    No, #6,
in this kind of tonnage-war everybody loses if the resources are klondike-exploited - especially in the breeding grounds - to extinction.
All you need to do is give permission for transferable quotas, then give extra permissions to the Koreans and Chinese.

    @3
Correct-the most dangerous place to be is behind Argentine soldiers as its like facing a cattle stampede when they retreat at speed.

Their soldiers bear an uncanny resemblance to their politician's pronouncements and demands-a lot of big talk followed by the white flag.

@ 4 Viscount Falkland who wrote: “worst of all, borrowing from the Chinese.”

    Why is that 'worst'?

do you feel sorry for the Chinese who - at best - may recover 35 percent of their money?

Their own fault - all the warning lamps were lit.

Now Capitanich, there's an intelligent bulb!

And Kicillof, for sure the whole world can tell what a genius he is, gettin' a Nobel Peace Prize for sure!

And then there's that very behemoth of way extra-ordinary cranial capacity, CFK herself.

And we can tell all of this obviously, just from their astounding looks.

“Argentine Behemoth, dinosaur Dreadnoughtus made T. rex look puny”

“it was time a plant-eating dinosaur got a badass name -these are usually reserved for meat-eaters,”
”... weighed 65 tons (59,300 kg) and measured 85 feet long (26 meters) with a neck 37 feet long (11.3 meters) and a tail 30 feet long (8.7 meters).

The only behemoths in the Southern Hemisphere are long extinct.

    17. You think that guy looks dumber than Austral Elvis?
    Methinks not.

Austral Elvis should have “Dufus” tatooed on his forehead so people are forewarned.

We had a COD War with the Icelanders, and now its a Squid War with the Argies!

Figures... Squid are slimy, wriggly little blighters that squirt out clouds of obscuring ink to confuse the enemy, a bit like Snr Filmus, Gollum and co.

Perhaps a S(prat) War would have been more appropriate?

What are they going to market their catch as? “Filmus Fish Fingers” has a certain ring to the name!

    Or maybe, “Capitanich Birds Eye.”

My “nick” is Gordo1 for the simple reason that I am known as Gordon, nothing to do with my girth. I, in fact, weigh only just over 75 kilos! ¡Boludo!

@16....I feel sorry for the Argentine people who are going to pay the Chinese a hefty price for the fools who have borrowed off them. The fools will be long gone when the Chinese want repayment and they will not be discussing it with a judge in New York............... !

    Gordo boludo
Either you are fat or boludo.
Only a boludo would call himself Gordo when he is not fat.
Clearly you are both, gordo boludo.

I can't remember the last time paulcedron posted an intelligent comment anywhere on this site. Last year perhaps?
These days it is all bile, jealousy and cant. Sad to see really.
I wonder if it is because of the economic climate and the societal trainwreck in Argentina?
Now they have even lost a squid war.
    Maybe it the sheer embarrassment?

    “Gordo boludo

Only a boludo would call himself Gordo when he is not fat.
Clearly you are both, gordo boludo.”
Your idea of an itelligent post? If so then Islen probably hasn't ever posted an “intelligent” comment.

    @30
    Thanks Benson.
I am not going to dignify that silly boy @29 with a response. It is not exactly something I need to defend to those who read a variety of articles here. They can judge my comments for themselves, should they even wish too(!).
That fool just picks the UK related ones, then launches insults at people. He never comments on articles on Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela etc. Just likes to try to insult Brits and the UK.
    Quite sad really.
He is an Anglophile, secretly. Gotten twisted with envy and imagined rejection.
    Haha!
