Mobbing by Argentine officials forces BBC Top Gear team to flee to Chile

Saturday, October 4th 2014 - 05:39 UTC
Full article 492 comments

Hooliganism and mobbing by government officials seem to be the norm in Argentina following on the experience of two incidents, one involving a BBC crew forced out of the country for their alleged 'disrespectful attitude' towards the Falklands/Malvinas conflict memory, and a second calling on hecklers to impede a conference in Buenos Aires of a former minister. Responsible for human right, proud of the peaceful way they dealt with it, orders from the governor.

These idiots forget that people other than fascists read those words.

This was obviously orchestrated by the Argentine Government.

I always through that Argentina was far from becoming a fascist stage. However it is easy to see that any deviation from official policy or opinion is ruthlessly pounced upon.

While Marcos thinks this makes Argentina look strong, I can tell you it is the opposition.

What is has done is reinforce that the Falkland Islanders would have no place in Argentina. All the claims by CFK and her government that minority rights and culture would be protected within Argentina have been shown to be false.

If this is the response to a simple number plate, imagine what would happen if the Islanders would be treated like.

Argentina keeps pushing the Falkland Islanders further and further away. It is no use talking about talks that occurred before 1982 when incidents like this are reflective of the Argentina of today.

    Great own goal. Bloody awesome.

Whatever one thinks of Top Gear, it is hugely popular around the world and can bring fantastic publicity to less well known destinations. So the BBC were giving Patagonia free worldwide publicity and the opportunity to promote itself. That they chose to respond in this way will look pretty bad in the edit.

Who gets injured? An Argentine camera man!

This is awesome news, it demonstrates to everyone, again, why you can't have these facists controlling the lives of normal people. Like the islanders.

They are never going to get their hands on them.

That is the sad truth - a warning to the Islanders.

If ever they were left to the devices of this people, imagine what would happen to them.

Even if they were not officially persecuted, would they be like the indigenous Indians of Argentina, who meet with indifference from the authorities when they encounter violence against them?

Fully endorsed by indoctrinated authorities, is more likely.

Good that they have shown who they really are, before they make an appeal on the World Stage.

Ushuaia depends of tourism, servicing those cruise ships, so news of visitors being attacked is going to help them no end. Great publicity for TG, terrible publicity for Argentina.

Understood (I'm very well aware of his earlier transgressions); I thought you were referring to something “specific” that I had missed that transpired during this Argentinian trip that justified the local's (very much in my view, over) reaction. I assume you don't think that a such a juvenile response to a licence plate is but a tad embarrassing. In the UK, Morrissey, R Waters, S Collymore have never been subjected to such; and they still cheer for football players that have stood in front of “las malvinas” banners? A sign of maturity, I think. I might be wrong (granted, it is much easier to be gracious in victory; although 30 years should heal the wounds). Your thoughts?

I particularly liked this sentence that Clarkson made:

“And these 'war veterans' we upset. Mostly they were in their 20s. Do the maths.”

That says it all doesn't it? Argentina claiming that war veterans were upset, only that the majority of them weren't even born in 1982.

Yup a major home goal for Argentina. But I suppose this is more for the great unwashed masses in Argentina as another distraction.

The number plate was a coincidence, but you have the feeling that this would've happened no matter what, it was planned and orchestrated by the Kirchner administration as another way to divert the people's attention whilst they stuff a few more stolen dollars in their off-shore bank accounts.

Wow! Argentina ever the drama queens! What exactly is so offensive about the expression that equates to Falklands 1982? Its a statement of fact rather than a provocation. Im pretty sure if I travelled to Germany with the number plate DDAY 44 or to France with the number plate WLO 1815 I wouldn't be attacked by a rabid mob. It's not like Clarkson sunk to the level of making a video exploiting a war memorial or anything.
Top Gear have nothing to apologise for. These people invaded our lands and killed our people and then like all other nations who try that sort of thing they lost. But they're not sorry for the invasion, they're not sorry for the evil they did or the harm they caused they're only sorry that they lost and were humiliated by the British. In the 30 years since the war ended they haven't learnt a thing. They still want the Falklands and they would commit any sort of thuggish act to achieve that. If only they were competent enough to run a country and to build a successful economy and construct a competent military then they would probably be crazy enough to have another go.
Fortunately the biggest problem with Argentina is the Argentinians. Belligerence and stupidity seem to go hand in hand as some sort of collective national quality. It is that fact rather than the illusory collective machinations of the British, the EU and the United States that is the true explanation for why Argentina is in the state that it is.
If Top Gear choose to make a small joke about you its really because you deserve it. Your reaction to the small insult of a car number plate says more about you than a 100,000 posting to Mercopress.

    @27 Jonaz_BsAs

You're only deluding yourselves, but you know that anyway.

Quite frankly I don't care what you think, but Jeremy Clarkson is a big supporter of British servicemen, and unlike Argentines the British don't use their war dead for political gain.

And just look at the difference in responses between British people and Argentine people.

When an Argentine desecrated a British war memorial in British territory (for Argentine political gain) you didn't see thugs turn up and try to kill him (though he certainly deserved some sort of punishment).

Yet when some Argentines believe that a number plate refers to the Falklands they try to kill some 35 people!!!!!

Oh and lets no forget how they believe a number plate that says 269 referred to 255 British dead in the war (we know Argentines can't count but this is ridiculous), and that 646 referred to 649 Argentine dead in the war. That really is stretching the imagination. No matter what the number plates had said your government and their braindead followers would've found something to attack them over.

And remember all those war veterans...all of those who weren't even alive in 1982? Unlike Argentina the rest of the world have eyes, ears and a brain. They can do the maths and realise just what a bunch of liars you all are.

Face it this was orchestrated by your insane government. It has damaged Argentina far more than you realise. I mean top gear is watched in 165 countries!!! That means 165 countries in the world will realise what a backward, intolerant and fascist place Argentina really is. And none of them will come to tour the place themselves.

They didn't just turn up with these cars and start filming, they would have needed permits, they whole have had to import the cars declaring information on them, they drove the length of Argentina, before they it was noticed. This would have been organised with the Argentine authorities months before they arrived there to film.

If you want the truth, the Argentine authorities waited until they arrived in this particular area before they reacted, for maximum affect.

Sounds mostly like someone was looking to be offended as a way to draw attention. The presence of a large mob like that needs organisation, and generally speaking, if it had been angry twitter users or the like the tweets would've become public by now. As such it must have been gathered through less public channels, and the only reason to use such channels is to gather a mob without warning the targets.

I can understand the use of such techniques, but it was insanely dangerous- if one of them had been injured or killed, the fallout for the government would have been horrendous, especially as once something like that happens the behind the scenes details would've not only come out (which will happen either way) but will be far more high profile in the rest of the world.

Famous TV personality murdered by government thugs is a really, really bad headline to have.

isnt that kinda missing the point? Regardless of intent, stoning cars containing the crew isnt exactly something to be proud of.

It makes Argentina look like a bunch of thugs, bitter over a war they started and lost badly... a war that apparently included numerous babies on the invasion force, as well as couple planning to have ”war veteran” children some years later.

It is interesting to note that these cars had been in-country for some time without any notice, and had been allowed to be imported in the first place...without anything being noticed or said.

It will make our 'friends' the RGs look absolute twats and losers, which they are. It will damage tourism to Argentina even more than the tire burning intimidation of practically defenceless aged cruise ship passengers and intimidation of the Falkland Islanders.
As a result, less people will visit Argentina. Argentinas reputation for personal safety will be further damaged and it will become a place to be avoided like Venezuela or Liberia. And, Argentina is now an even bigger joke.

Own goal, own goal, own goal...where is Think...the trolling standard is rock bottom.

The Falkland Islanders have never been Argentinian, just like the Falklands have never been Argentine. It's all a myth put about by successive governments as a means to control and distract the population of Argentina.

But I agree with your sentiment. Why would anyone want to voluntarily (and that's the only way Argentina could ever get the islands) join such a country?

What was the BBC doing in rotting roadkill anyway?

Why would the BBC want to promote the interests of an enemy of the Queen?

The BBC is full of anti-monarchists and lefties.

Agreed. People often forget that Hitler was also voted into power, and then began to successively erode away democracy.

One of the 1st things the Nazi's did, in order to unite the 'people', was give them an enemy. First the Jews were blamed, and then the communists, then the socialists, then the liberals, and then anyone else they could find. This was combined with a radical overhaul of the education system, where children were fed pure propaganda and very little hard facts.

Argentina is going the same way. They have their enemy, the evil British 'pirates', now you can add the USA, the Germans, the IMF, the WB and Jeremy Clarkson to that list.

The Argentine education system just fills the heads of children with propaganda and very little fact or reality for that matter.

The only real difference is that the Germans were very competent and efficient at what they did, which made the a danger to all civilisations. The Argentines, on the other hand, appear incompetent and inefficient, which makes them a danger only to themselves, although if my country shared a border with them I'd be telling my government to up our defences, just in case.

See how we treat English dogs, German swine, Spanish scum, French poop, and Italian garbage....

And if you think now its bad, wait till my generation takes over.

Its simple really: Europeans think they can fuck over everyone and not face the consequences. Argentina is now the most ANTI-EUROPEAN nation on Earth, right after ISIS. Like I have always warned you.

Argentina never owned or controlled those islands (except for a couple of violent months in 1982). There are a lot of people on those islands whose families have lived there longer than most people in Argentina...

You seem to have swallowed the Argentine propaganda that somehow requires the Brits to clean those islands of people and restore them to their 18th century condition and then hand them over to Argentina in order to restore order in the universe.

Where I come from we call that “Ethnic Cleansing”. It is generally considered a bad thing...

Almost every scruffy town and city in Arg has its “Malvinas” monument emblazoned with the date of 1982. And, like everything else in Argentina, they don't even bother maintaining them - most of them are half broken, rain-stained, covered in graffiti, surrounded by litter, overgrown grass, and piles of dead leaves. They, and these thin-skinned stone throwing thugs, are a metaphor for the dire state of Argentina.

None of that justifies an organised attack on a filming crew.

In fact, those people that smashed that car should be in jail now. See, that is exactly what is wrong in Argentina these days. It seems that you have the right to commit crimes if you see fit.

First off you did not burn any cities down. It was RAF Bomber Command that bombed burned German cities and Germans, by the thousands.

If you knew anything about the history of “your” Airforce, you would know that the USAAF, 8th Airforce disagreed with targeting civilian populations preferring strategic daylight bombing. Which they did at enormous cost to exceptionally brave aircrews some of who still rsest here today, in the USAAF cemetery in Cambridge.

They did bomb cities toward the end of the war, but again in day light and again at strategic targets.

I served with US ARMY, USAF, Dutch, Belgium, and BUNDESWEHR guys on a NATO base and if you ever turned up at a social do wearing that rag, you would have been told to take it off or fuck off. You would probably also have had some choice words from our unit Sergeant Major, a USAF CMSGT.

I suppose Argie might be okay, if it's used in a causal, friendly connotation; such as Yankee, which very occasionally can be appropriate (mostly when used as a proper noun or adjective though; NY Yankee, Yankee Clipper; Yankee Doodle Dandy); but is much more commonly employed in a disrespectful or scornful manner. I can't see “RG” ever being appropriate, which (full disclosure) has me questioning whether in fact you indeed are Argentinean/Argentine/Argentinian (no offence; I very well could be mistaken). I'd ask “US Air Force” about which adjective Argentines prefer (I trust everyone here is aware that US Air Force is TTT/Toby? This was rather obvious back on Sept 12th. He's trying desperately to repress his vocabulary, and inner demons, but it sneaks through), however I can't bear the thought of wading through the xenophobic response.

I really feel for the people I know with money invested in tourism in Argentina. There are some fabulous places and one of my favourite places in the world is there. When I was visiting a couple of years ago they were struggling to get fuel to heat the place. Maintenance was difficult as it is an historic building. It must be near impossible now. Other places I know have closed.

On the other hand I was checking out places I know well and some are being rather bold with the prices they want to charge in dollars. I know they will accept probably half for dollars cash but they assume tourists will not know about their tanking economy. They do and will look at the prices, do the maths and think it is a rip-off.

USAF who is not. It is not illegal as such to wear and Arg national football jersey in public in Stanley - but it would cause interest and probably result in our Police asking you to put on a jacket over it!
Put it this way - imagine you were in USA in the 1940s and somebody started walking around wearing Japanese national colours? - Exactly the same - Argentina invaded the Islands and tried military force to make us live under their dictatorship. They were thrown out but still claim our homes and homeland 100% and declare to the world that our wishes to live our own free democratic lives under the elected Government of our choice are irrelevant. And meanwhile do all they can to make our lives difficult.
The Clarkson incident really will help show the world what a degenerate Govt Argentina has and the idiots that are in control -on top of the recent USA Govt warning to US Citizens to stay away from Argentina unless an essential visit - and even then to log in with the US Embassy as soon as they arrive - is a tremendous OWN GOAL - But hell Christina K just loves shooting at her feet - she does it all the time - often with both barrels at once!

It has nothing to do with Europeans of today. It has nothing to do with people outside of Argentina.

That is his lot in life. He can do his best to change his circumstances and improve himself and his future prospects.

Nostrils is NOT relegated to a Stone Age existence. He IS on the Internet, he CAN see there is a world outside of his hut.

    Yes, it is unfair.

The reality is, things ain't gonna back to the way they were. The people's who perpetrated said crimes in the past are long dead.
    They are no longer accountable.

Nostrils has to deal with the present.

However, if he is content to sit there bitterly resigned to his fate, without doing anything about it, that makes him as much of the problem.

It is not acceptable to make his own racist insults against those who are simply not involved in any way.

Nobody owes this petulant 'boy' anything.

He needs to be responsible for his own welfare.

He can start by getting a job, and confronting the local individuals he interacts with.

    @161 Elaine

Tobias is of European descent. He tries to take the stance that he isn't because he thinks it bolsters his very weak arguments, which it doesn't.

I know this because once, a few years ago, he tried to convince me that he was a native Amerindian. Then on another story, a few days later, where native Amerindians were criticising the government for stealing their land, ignoring murders and human rights abuses against them, Tobias was all outraged about these impudent non-whites, who had the temerity not to tow the party line.

He practically admitted he was of European descent on that thread.

That's the problem when you tell lies, you eventually forget which ones you've told, and in Tobias' case he tells them so much and so often that it's not surprising he gets confused.

Tobias' real problem is that he hates himself, his country and his life. But he has been brainwashed to believe that any criticism of the government or country is tantamount to treason, so he has no outlet for all his anger.

So he lashes out at everyone else, especially the Europeans and US, who have far better lives and prospects than he ever will. So his jealousy and anger turn to hatred.

We should all pity him because he really has no future. He's trapped, and he knows it.

You are right in the sense that he can reach out over the internet and motivate himself to be a better person. But he will just not do it. It is by far much easier to blame everybody else for our personal/country situation than to face the image on the mirror. Unfortunately, corrupt governments like ours are good at exploiting that.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he belongs to some parasitic political group that receives benefits for just *not* thinking and following the leader.

Pan et circenses. Like in the old Roman empire. Making someone out of yourself is not in their text books.

The Kirchnerites claim than no one ever has invested so much in education, but they confuse education with propaganda indoctrination.

“LAN will be busy this coming summer with loads of charter flights Santiago-Ushuaia for US tourists joining cruise ships avoiding Argentina” you say....
What a STRANGE way of avoiding Argentina, I say...

And to complete the Anglo lesson in geography ignorance, we have Turnip Ilsen at (152) telling us about his deep financial & personal involvement on a place in Venezuela he can't even spell properly...!
It's “Choroní”, you Anglo turnip, not “Chorini”

    Speaking about Anglo Turnips.....:
Somebody is telling porkies when saying that they changed the plates after being warned....
I know for a fact that all of them where, ~two weeks ago, friendly but clearly warned in Spanish, English and Welsh by a handful locals from Trevelin and Esquel about the foolishness of them plates...
As we all know now.........., they didn't change no plates....

164- I'd imagine that driving around Argentina with a car plate that read 1982 and FKL would cause a stir: the problem is that there was no Argie Policeman to advise them otherwise, sounds like this troublemaker would not have listened. Its kind of like me going to Compton in a White Cape screaming white power...I am pretty sure that I would get shot.

FYI: the enigma that is Tobias/TTT

    - Tobias sincerely does not accept himself to of “European heritage” because from a strictly national perspective he considers himself to be Argentine and “little” else; however, that “little” is that he is also member of the Jewish Dispora in Argentina (even though Jewish is not a ethnicity).
    - Just ask “US Air Force” @178, because that's one of his low-brow alter egos (as was quite obvious back on Sept 12th) that he's attempting to revive to take the shame away of being previously found out the last go around.

No Mr Think I was just making a statement to the effect that if someone said (as you inferred in your post) that they changed the plates...I don't see how that would be possible...I can't see them carrying a spare set...also the insurance cover would then be invalid...
So likely they never changed them....
If your number plates happen to fall off or get stolen then that is merely a minor fault.
So yeah it's likely they eventually removed them...

I reckon 99 out every hundred Brits would not have made the connection from that plate...
In fact everyone that I spoke to about the story when it first broke did not see it...I had to explain the conflict was in 1982 and FKL stood for Falklands....
All number plates in the UK from that period were of that format..it's from Dudley, Worcester....there would be thousands with the ending FKL....
FKD is often seen...used as F@cked....
I heard the plate was not original and was added to the car in 2001...probably because it was close to 928....(982) which was the model of the car....

    BTW....Clarkson must be a fanny.....everyone knows a guy wouldn't be seen dead in a Porsche 928...it's a ladies car...it's a 911 or nothing....;-)

The Argentine military training kicked in, get in a large group and attack unarmed civilians. What a cowardly group.

If they were brave they would have gone down to the coast and swam accross the narrow channel to the Islands where they could have attacked armed and trained British troops.

Don't even bother replying. There are so many pathetic mistakes in US Air Force@214's second sentence that it doesn't justify a response (there's not even an airbase at Kingston, the one that's close to there is called CFB Trenton). “US Air Force” was NEVER in the service, and I doubt has ever even been in an airplane, and most certainly isn't American (especially since he's actually Toby in disgiuse ; I think Toby is purposely making mistakes in USAF's posts to throw people off the scent to prove that it's not him; Toby would rarely make such obvious mistakes; what a cunning plan!). Besides, no US airman would ever insult a Canadian airman as such.
BTW, we did change back to RCAF in 2011. Thanks goodness. The amalgamation by Hellyer in 1968 was a ridiculous idea.

“I have no doubts that it was all organized by the government” claimed the former minister Cavallo at the time. “This sort of action comes from the first decade of the last century and was extensively used by Nazis and fascists to take over governments in Germany and Italy”.

And that comment is from a former government minister!
Just look at the way they are behaving over the Falklands with their threats and persecution of the Islanders. Now they have Government sponsored thugs who beat up visitors and terrorise their own nationals because they disagree with the party line. This is exactly the same behaviour that the fascists used against minorities and dissenters in Europe, behaviours straight out of the Nazi songbook.

Think, it's the economic threads we need you on, not the Top Gear one. Whether the car was deliberately purchased because of its plate (which is moot because even if it had been a coincidence they they would have still made a joke of it in the edit - NB the other two plates were neither accurate or funny and therefore mean nothing) it was an oppotunity to show off your country. Yes Top Gear depends on lots of Englishman-abroad jokes but it always shows the country being visited in a good, if not specatacular light. Your government knew the plates when the cars entered the country, so why not have the border guards deal with it directly at the point of entry or have the police sort it at any point along the way. Use of state-sponsored rent-a-mobs to enforce order is not what happens in developed countries, which takes me back to my first point - how are things in Argentina these days?

They knew all about these plates before they even entered the country, all the information would have been on the paperwork they submitted to the authorities.

To maximise the propoganda value and for obvious reasons, they waited for them to reach the area they consider played a great part in their war.

What you have here is a state sponsored plan to attack British citizens visiting their country. A clear breach of international law! They are damned lucky that no one was killed. The UK would have been legally entitled to take retaliatory steps.

My guess is that it would have been Tomahawk Missile strikes on all of the KFC hotels in the area.

I think people here are missing the fact that TDF is the most heavily subsidised province of Argentina. Everybody there is a public employee and they have made Las Malvinas and Kirchnerism a religon.

The industrial beacon which the Ks have given so much money to uphold was mounting a worry some comercial deficit 7 Bn USD for Tierra del Fuego in 2013

    http://www.lapoliticaonline.com/nota/72924/

They just cant compete in Argentine markets and cell phones get switched and changed for new ones so fast they cant get thier assembly lines in touch with their local providers in time.

Each “private” job in TDF is costing in total 730 k pesos in 2012. That was about 91.000 USD per factory worker at the blue rate in that year.

Almost half of the adult population is reciving some sort of State welfare check and 30% of the work force is government employed. Yet only 1% of the workforce is industrial.

    http://www.lapoliticaonline.com/nota/72924/

No wonder CFK got 68% of the TDF vote 3 years ago.

    So what did you expect??

    1. Indecent exposure.

On the other hand if he drove around in a car with a number plate like say F 2 LIZ or Q 5 HIT and a crowd of Brits did what they did, then you would looking at charges ranging from.
    1. Attempt murder.
    2. Attempt GBH/wounding.
    3. Violent Disorder/Riot.
    4. Criminal Damage.
    5. Robbery.

As I said, are we really going to get into whataboutery? No one is proud of hooligans whatever their nationality. Why would any sane person be proud of thuggery? I am certain that CFK and Fat Max are very proud of their Kirchner army. :)

TTT, that makes no sense whatsoever. Do you know what shitfaced means? Nope. Thought not.

The English trailer trash go out every year and hoist their little William the Orange flag and parade around Catholic neighborhoods in Ireland and expect there not to be any violence. These English wannabes sit there all smug stating how the Argies tossed people off planes while the whole time they claim to be saints.....why don't we ask the IRA? Why don't we ask the Black and Tans of England who were brutal in their own backyards. I cant get over how so many people seem to believe that other people acting like thugs means that they can do the same .. and apparently without any oral comeback.

Using the same approach one assumes that it would have been fine for some of these 20 year old war veterans to have murdered some of the crew because “other people commit murders in other countries”.

And, no, that's not a straw man.

That this sort of government sponsored and encouraged thuggery is common place and accepted in Argentina is beyond any doubts, I fail to see why any of the Malvos here even bother attempting to justify it - it remains indefensible regardless of whoever else does it wherever else.

..and look who got injured... and then who wasnt even in those cars at the time...

its really rather pathetic that some of these Argentine Malvos are, who claim to be intelligent, even try to defend it, let alone in such a pathetic fashion.

    sad, sad, sad,.

327 - Canuck Moosehead - Here is some authentication for you. Your HMS c-A-n-A-d-A RAF (pronounced c - ehh - N - ehhh - D - ehh) parachute team was at the 12th HQ in Kingston at the time jumping from C-126 to an island in some nearby lake. At that time when I worked with them we would go the 'Beer Store' and the 'Cigarette Store' with orange signs denoting that they were government run. The Canuckian parachute team were disbanded for a period of time for hazing. The parachute team was alright. We weren't allowed to smoke cigars with them, because the cigars were Cuban and purported to be laced with human hair. It was the Canadian land whales that brings shame to ANY military force. The fatsos rode Harleys and made them look like kid's tricycles. There is your authentication and note that any boob can make up stations they've been to via google.

@332 Now you are back tracking. You called her a slut and excused the men as 'boys will be boys'. You blamed her entirely. I said the men were equally responsible. They took advantage of a drunk girl. Not one stepped in to stop it. One has to ask where the girl's friends were too. But you defined her as a slut and not them.

“And then they wonder why men dont want to marry to women like this and have your lives and property confiscated when they divorce you…” Wow! That is a bit of a leap. And very revealing about your attitude to women.

You seem to define any woman that has given a man oral sex as being a slut. Read your own post. I am certain your wife has had her lips around a few men's cocks in her time, not that she would ever tell you. Think about that the next time you kiss her.

The young lady concerned could be one of loose or liberal morals, in which case she will not care a jot about what anyone thinks of or says about her behaviour. If she does not care about her own self image, then why should I.

On the other hand, it could be that she was so drunk that all the egging on encouraged her to behave the way she did. In which cas when she sobered up and realised what she had done, what her parents, friends and all who knew her would be saying, she probably wanted the earth to open up and swallow her up. In which case I feel for her.

There are some things in life, that are a thousand times more obscene, than a young drunken woman being recorded performing multiple sex acts.

Do I need to remind everyone of the four recent videos released by Isis.

As for the mob that attacked the film crew being veterans is not possible, the give away was the stones. The Argentina army has secretly trained its services to use stones till they can afford ammunition then they will throw that until they can afford to purchase the weapons to fire them.

Its a natural biological fact. Of course women have a right to enjoy sex, and it is retro pleassurefr us to pleassure them.

But there is clearly limits. Its not entirely true that sex is just sex.

A woman like that is not someone I would feel comfortable with for anything serious. Its not someone you can trust, its not someone who has self esteem, no moral compass, nor any dignity.

I have being hurt by loose women that I had actually and naively decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and a chance. And they utterly dissapointed and failed me, but you can only fool me once.

Jeremy Clarkson: Top Gear ambush was set up by Argentina's government
Jeremy Clarkson claims Top Gear team was 'herded into an ambush' by government officials in Argentina trying to make political capital over the Falklands

Last night a Foreign Office spokesman said: “We are aware of the incident in October. We are reassured that there was no risk to safety caused by the activity of the Argies.
“We are continuing to examine the incident to ascertain whether it was within the lawful right of passage.”

He had an hour and a half to search the internet to piece together a plausible reply to Poppy's authentication request, and is only able to hash together a MASSIVE fail. Even ignoring the blatant CAF/RCAF mistakes in his reply (HMS?, 12th HQ Kingston?, RAF? all wrong, wrong, wrong); he can't even manage to get the civilian anecdotal crap correct. There's never existed a single government run “Cigarette Store” in Ontario, ever (cigarette sales have never even been government run; always been sold over-the-counter at convenience stores). Silly boy. He probably once wore a uniform flipping burgers at MacDonalds or Burger King and got confused.

@355 I am completely confident in my sexuality, what I am comfortable with and what I look for in my man. I don't have the kind of hang-ups you have.

Men can be slutty. There is not one set of rules for men and another for women. Men are not controlled by their dicks, at least not the intelligent, emotionally mature men I know. And biology is no excuse for bad behaviour.

CD, you seem to want to apply a set of rules for women and men can behave any way they want without judgement because 'boys will be boys'. And yet you claim to be all for equality. You are very immature when it comes to women.

Good for you Im sure you are... Why are you saying any of this?? You just date the richest men in Chile. Clearly you know what you are looking for in a man.

You cant make the obvious distinction between plain biology from moral codes and it is in the later where true equuality is lacking. You cant change biology but there is many things that are completely unfair and you dont recognize... and Im still waiting for the drunken lad slut that licked 24 pussies for a drink...

There was a famous Cronica Tv headline about a drunkard that woke up with a broom or some thing up his behind in the street. He was a national laughing stock. He was raped, but it is inplicit that he was drunk and that was what determined his outcome. Would the same media and social treatment be expected if a woman got druunk and was humiliated like that??? I dont think so

“Boys are boys” but have a different moral standards and responsabilities to bare than women have in modern western culture.

Concerning the Top Gear incident, as usual there are things to be said on boths sides. Clarkson and co have an immensely popular show and appear to have got to the stage where they can do anything they like and no-one will touch them. Did Clarkson really think he could just swan around Argentina and not touch a raw nerve anywhere ? While the rough reception may well have been politically orchestrated, people did get killed and wounded in the war, the sinking of the Belgrano was a questionable decision and there is certainty that the Argentines pursued the war for political reasons, and some reason to believe that Thatcher did also. So hopefully Clarkson and co were seriously scared and that he, or at least his producers, may be a little more circumspect in future.
As for the Argentines - what were they thinking of ? Here is a man who makes a business out mocking people. Given his popularity and ability to entertain he will continue to be forgiven for his scarcely concealed racism. Does the Argentine government think that packing Clarkson and the cres off across the border in a shower of stones is going to be the end of it ? This guy has a very widely syndicated program. I would be astonished if a) they didn't keep at least some cameras running all the way through and b) if Clarkson doesn't use the material to produce a program that pours derision on the Argentine government and shows what a load of buttsqueaks they are. Doesn't anyone take time to think these things through anymore ?

You are just as liberal and cultural marxist as many Argentines here are you are just far more pc about it, you are just a Public Relations taylor made all over
And if you have to know many of my opinions are shaped by philosophy and true liberianism that is sweeping across in the US. I almost have no attachment to Argentine ideas. Actually my thinking is far more modern than yours is in many respects. But you assume that because you travel around the world paid by the tax payer's money and live in England you know better than I do.

I blame the UK for this.

The UK tried to take Buenos Aires twice, in 1806 and 1807. Bunch of lazy British, could not you try again in 1808 ?

Just imagine how marvelous things could have being under British influence ... ah, the possibilities. Argentina would be like Australia by now. Or even better.

Imagine a peronism-free Argentina, far away from the spanish-catholic-populist-fascist reach. A country where people like Chavez causes repulsion. A country where people plan for the next 30 years rather than anchoring the national agenda back in the 70s.

Please don´t burst my bubble. Let me imagine how that may have being.

But British did invest and did up business, schools, railwways, clubs all over the country.

And from 1880 to 1916, free market policies had made Argentina into the 6th economic power. We were even better than Australia back then. WWI and the collapse of the British Empire and other Eurropean powers where fatal to Argentina, plus the fact that chronical capital flight would start round 1930s was never solved.

Then Peronism the final the nail in the coffin

But our Nostril Troll is just a product of the Argentine national psyche. Their education system is a funnel into this parallel universe in which the rest of the world is crazy and evil except them.

Consider what they are taught in school about geography and economics and then you may understand their thinking. Like that frenzied mob.

Did you see the news clip that the local officials were demanding an official letter of apology from the British film crew. When the film crew were the ones who had bricks and expletives thrown at them!!

If you ever read Argentine “historical accounts” of the Falklands War in 1982 you will see it even more clearly: According to their history books, they sunk all the British ships, shot down all the British jets, won all the land battles, and yet inexplicably lost the war due to some mysterious X-factor that they keep referring to as “colonial injustice”.

JC is Marmite, as many people love him as hate him. I can't say I like the bloke but that is probably based on him being a twat around London. Quite a few editors have had run-ins with him so journalists will have free reign to smear him. Does anyone remember the long running feud he had with Piers Morgan when he edited The Mirror? It ended in fisty cuffs.

The point is, none of that is relevant. The mob rounded up by Fat Max and sent to attack a film crew is the story. Fat Max uses that army of thugs against Argentines too. They should be more concerned about that.

-do they still do the “bounce the quarter” trick to test the bedding?

    - where do you eat?
-what do they serve? Is there a choice? Does it vary?
    - are the cooks Army, Airforce, Haliburton, local civilians?

    - what are your duties in the morning?

    Let him be, Troy.
    He's becoming quite entertaining.
Cap'n Poppy has got him rattled, but he just keeps digging his hole, deeper.
    lol!

Yes Isolde......quivering in my boots. Troy I am not going back 2 1/2 years to research your supposed disclosure. Troy/Isolde/Islen/Briton et al are the same joker paid by the same MI 6 misinformation account.

    482 A Farce

Regardless of who you think I am, MI6 or whatever, *chortles to himself and smiles*, nobody reading this is going to listen to you or take you seriously, unless you can convince them you are what you claim to be.

Captain Poppy whom you accept as a legitimate US ex-serviceman, is convulsed in laughter at your claims of being an 'Airman'.

He thinks you're a faker and a half-wit who gets his info from Google, just like Mendocinovino and Nostrils.

We've given you many opportunities to prove who you are, without revealing personal or classified information, but you avoid and deflect, and squirm and insult, instead.

Putting you down as 'Enemy of MI6”

    That's accurate, isn't it?

Seriously, you can answer THAT simple question, can't you ?

    @483 Troy,
Let him pretend he's an airman....to him, the definition of 'airman' is a man who blows a lot of hot air, from both ends.
Only 15 to go for the Trolls to get their free numberplates...I got a suggestion , “RG FKD 82”...and the 'FKD' does not mean FalKlanD...

    thanks Isolde!
I always look for your posts too! I don't know why these trolls put so much effort in to creating false identities.... seems an odd way to behave. Maybe they don't have enough confidence in themselves when it comes to posting or joining a discussion?
Still, they can be amusing at times, bless!

'Chicken or pizza?' accuses Clakson of portraying the argies as argies!

'Clarkson fabricated horror story', here's the link:

Bit late into the fray, TMBOA must have rung her up and told her to come up with something or else.

    @488

She's also got a piece in the Independent, in which she refers to “the dramatic episode of the ship that was sunk on the orders of Margaret Thatcher, thus triggering a war that should have been avoided.”

There really is no hope for these people.

    @490

Speaking for myself, I'm extremely impressed by your posts. The United States military has often in the past been criticised for its insensitivity towards foreign cultures, but you have succeeded in absorbing the Malvinista mindset as you werte born to it. It’s all been there in one post or another: the unquestioning acceptance of 1833 mythology, the all consuming sense of Argentine victimhood, the rejection of any responsibility for anything, the spite, the bile, the hatred, the fervent delusion that everybody else in the world shares the neurosis, and the touching belief that the Chinese, the Russians, the Venezuelans, the United Nations, the hermanos latinos, the UK taxpayer, somebody, anybody is coming to the rescue and nothing in the mindset needs to be challenged.

It’s truly impressive that somebody has mastered all this hundreds if not thousands of miles distant from the culture and education system which nurtures and perpetuates it.

    Sarcastically funny. lol!
    You've nailed him alright.
He's not American, maybe we should change his name to FAA(Argentine Air Force).
