Oct 10th, 2014 - 09:15 am - Link - Report abuse 0I think sometime in 2015 people will be longing for the days of 2 digit inflation.
Oct 10th, 2014 - 12:25 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Remembering 40% inflation as the Good Ol' Days.
BCBA is in a freefall for second day in a row. Biggest 12 day drop on current Merval.
Oct 10th, 2014 - 02:54 pm - Link - Report abuse 0That's an obviously biased report. So if INDEC says 20% and they say 40%, then its 30% and that seems completely normal for an economy.
Oct 10th, 2014 - 03:13 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Merval off 19% since 10/29.

Oct 10th, 2014 - 04:22 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Well, if your economy grew by 30% maybe.
But once your government can't even pretend to back up the Peso's value anymore, the bottom will fall out completely...
6. Argentina is the only country devolving in the World.
Oct 10th, 2014 - 04:51 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Based on what the nutcase Austral Elvis has been saying IN PUBLIC here in the USA I think they're all drinking poisoned water and it has eaten their brain.
He is clearly insane.
40.3% in the last twelve months according to the latest release from the City's stats office.
Oct 10th, 2014 - 05:56 pm - Link - Report abuse 0So given the propensity for lying by these organizations it's probably 60% in real terms.
They have to lie to prevent collapse. Once people in Argentina realize that the peso is worthless they will panic and try to buy dollars at any price.
Oct 10th, 2014 - 06:14 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Hello hyperinflation...
If this keeps up they'll be into hyperinflation and depression next year.
Oct 10th, 2014 - 09:01 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It is assured.
Companies are going to try, and the Govt is going to pressure to keep employees on until Christmas.
In Jan watch for HUGE waves of unemployment and massive closings.
Don't they all go on holiday in January? Do you think they will use that time to close businesses? No blocking roads and burning stuff, they come back a month later to find the place empty and locked.
Oct 10th, 2014 - 09:22 pm - Link - Report abuse 011. Probably. There's a lot going on right now and it all hinges on the lies put out by BCRA. I think they've been using a U$6B float that is drying up. The importers are owed US5-7B and are 90+ days overdue. They will have to be paid at some point. I think most have already gone from Pay 30/60/90 to Pay in advance so the float is gone.
Oct 10th, 2014 - 09:32 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Car companies don't keep parts in stock for very long. They must be about out and HQ isn't shipping any more unless they get paid first.
Pretty soon this house of cards is going to come crashing down.
Its really hard to predict when tho
But its soon
Yankeeboy . I talked to my friend who owns a firewood business on the outskirts of BA.
Oct 11th, 2014 - 11:38 am - Link - Report abuse 0He said last year he was paying 7000 pesos for a truck and trailer full of Que Bracho from Chaco. This year he is paying 14,000.
He bought 500 tons as a hedge against inflation.
Wow, double in a year! That's insane and doesn't bode well for 2015.
Oct 11th, 2014 - 12:20 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I hope he does well with it. I do not envy the sane people living there. Being sane in a nut house is not fun.
@15 That's an understatement. But believe it or not there are people who like to work in nuthouses.
Oct 11th, 2014 - 05:01 pm - Link - Report abuse 015. Yeah but they're are volunteering to be there, its like being misdiagnosed and forced to live in the nuthouse against your will.
Oct 12th, 2014 - 12:42 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I find it fascinating in this day and age that CFK and her minions get away will so many false statements. They publicly say stuff without any confirmation from the other party. AND are never called on it.
Weird.
