Full article 136 comments

In a harsh letter, released on Friday, Argentine President Cristina Fernandez urged US President Barack Obama to explain whether ”Nancy Soderberg, the person you have appointed as Chair of the Public Interest Declassification Board (PIDB), which reports directly to the Government of the United States of America, is also the Co-Chair of the American Task Force Argentina (ATFA), an entity specifically created to attack and slander the Argentine Republic and its President.” Read full article

At least Ambassador Soderberg has credentials which can be verified. She doesn't have to fake a law degree, Ambassador Soderberg has written authoritative papers on matters of foreign policy.

In other words, Ambassador Soderberg is an expert, whilst CFK is merely a moron.

    @ 9 Lunatic

When I read the letter, purported as written by TMBOA herself, I knew it was not so.

The usual argie DEMANDS have given way to implied threats and it is clear that someone else, another bat-shit mad argie has written this letter. AND, then it came to me: it was you, wasn’t it.

No need to deny it, the letter has all the hallmarks so easily recognised as being “The Hand of Lunatic”.

You know what I mean don’t you? Poorly thought out, seemingly lucid but always wrong in fact and malevolent in nature, it is undoubtedly a Lunatic masterpiece.

How many choripans and cans of coke did you get for that exercise in futility on behalf of TMBOA or are you expecting Gollum to have a medal struck in your ‘honour’?

    17. Of course Obama administration appointed her.

The retarded attention whore thinks she can go and tell another sovereign country- not just any country- what to do. She is ever more insane

The MercoPress letter is far more compressed. She even said to Obama what to do in his own country, she also mentioned gun trafficking, Mexico and extracted previous Obama comments on fiscal paradises and bitched about Elliot Management beign based in one.

    WTF?? Just pathetic

As I see it the most problematic of all this is; One day you bitch against America and imply that they are after you and “if something happens to me, look North” i.e CIA job) and the next day you are demanding favours of the very same administration??? If she thinks she can pull this crap off with the most powerful country on earth what does it leave us regular Argentines with??

We should all thank CFK. The one thing that can be said without any fear of contradiction is that once an argie is 'affronted', whatever 'affronted' them is true. Or so close to true as to be indistinguishable. Now that her rambling 'letter' is in the public domain, we can see its stupidity. So Ms Soderberg has conducted a 'defamatory and slanderous campaign'? Prove it. No examples of lies. Oh yes, argieland has a 'sovereign right'. Where's the international law that says argieland has a 'sovereign right' to rip people off to the tune of 70%? And do it by force majeure! Is she complaining that the giant blow-up rat didn't have her face on it? At what point are argie elections to be considered to be 'democratic'. Somehow I don't think that the videos of votes being bought and sold actually qualifies argieland for holding 'democratic' elections. What's wrong with identifying argieland as being a 'narco-state'. It IS a narco-state. Everyone knows it. And the arms are part of it. Quebracho and Campora are both into it. All argie air travel companies are part of it. Bent money out. Drugs in any direction. And where arms are manufactured is irrelevant. It's who sells what to whom. Argieland desperately needs dollars. And the currency of the arms trade is.......? And who is this dingbat to say what is or is not inadmissable? Especially in view of her own criminal activities. Why is argieland in the G20? It isn't a major economy. Let's spend the next few months agitating/lobbying for argieland to be kicked out. What does it know about running an economy? It's a brain-dead, paraplegic basket case with delusions. It has no valid place in the world.

I don't agree in banning CFK or Putin. As despicable as they are, as both humans and leaders, they are the leaders of their countries.

The G20 is representative of the world's largest economies, powerful and influential countries and regionally dispersed nations.

When the G20 formed, Argentina was seen as fitting into one of those categories. I don't think it now does and only by coming to these fora will Argentineans see this.

CFK is always clearly out of place at these gatherings. She uses them as a soapbox for subjects that have no impact on regulating and stabilising the world economy.

The more Argentina is seen at these gatherings, the more the squalor and ineptitude of CFK's rule is highlighted.

Australia is the largest, most powerful and prosperous nation of the Southern Hemisphere. Argentina's leader will see what could have been.

    #51 Anglotino
Functions of the G 20 Group of nations include discussing ways to strengthen the global economy, the reform of international financial institutions, improve financial regulation and implement the key economic reforms that are needed in each member economy. Being a permanent member of a premier forum like the G20 implies that the country is a major player amoung world economies. A member should be suitable and eligible to belong.

Has Argentina demonstrated the sort of leadership and maturity that makes it eligible to sit at this table?

Given the current state of Argentine economy and its status as a default debtor (self-inflicted) Argentina is demonstrably in- eligible to be included in a group such as the G20. Surprisingly, Spain is not a permanent member (although it does have the status of a permanent invitee.) So if Spain is not a permanent member how does Argentina qualify?

I take your point about regional inclusions, but a country with a failing economy brought about by the wilful mismanagement of its Government should not be indulged in the way you are suggesting; Argentina’s attendance will not be an epiphany for them but will only serve to perpetuate the delusions they harbor regarding Argentina’s position in and importance to the world.

@51. Don't agree. Argieland was included so that powerful nations could get an idea how poor countries might be affected.

Argieland and CFK see it as some sort of accolade or acceptance. The idea of argieland somehow being shamed into improving is nonsensical. Argieland has no concept of real 'shame'. Take a look. Has argieland ever apologised for invading the Falkland Islands? Makes the supposed return to 'democracy' look a bit sick, doesn't it? Argieland operates sanctions against the Falkland Islands. Is that compliant with the UN Charter? Is it 'democratic'? It is, demonstrably, right for people to have self-determination. Honest people bend over backwards to enable self-determination. What does argieland do? It demands that the entire world adopts ITS interpretation of a single phrase that, by virtue of considerable stretching, supports its colonial, imperialist aspirations. Who's got 50 years to spare? Go through all official UN documents. List the ones where 'people' cannot be replaced by 'population'. Then do the reverse. If the difference was important, why didn't the UN use the term 'indigenes'?

Argieland deliberately STEALS money. What did Kirchner (deceased) do with the million dollars from the Santa Cruz treasury? Is it part of the 16 million dollars that Kirchner (slag) now has? Bigger and better. STEAL 92 billion dollars. Repay only 27.6 billion dollars. Must try that with my bank manager. “I owe you 20,000 pounds plus interest. I'll repay £6,000 plus interest or you get nothing”. Think I'll get away with it? Just as a clincher, I'll say that my 'development' mustn't be interrupted and that I should have everything I want. My eyes being huge“.

Sorry, argieland has no 'shame'. Kick it back down to where it belongs. In the sewer. In fact, if it arrives at Brisbane, make it public. ”Sorry, you're not on the list. What are you anyway”? Televise them crawling back to the airport. And make them walk!

Um. Notwithstanding all the other rather stupid aspects of this letter...

When a head of state writes a letter to another head of state, one does not use pejoratives and “fade/cool” language.

Her repeated use of “vulture” instead of “venture” is so childish that I cringed whenever I read it.

Its use is only thought clever by left-wing radio talk show hosts and their callers still living in their mother’s basement.

For the President of a nation to use that stupid term when writing in an official capacity to another President is ridiculous and ignorant and embarrassing.

    @81 Think

Then perhaps your understanding of American colloquial speech is at fault.

Be clear. Unless you too are an American Black person, then your use of that term would very definatly earn you an ass whooping here in the states.

Outside “ghetto talk”, it's univeraally regarded as a racial insult. Two ghetto talking guys can call each other a nigga and get away with it... Not so anyone else.

What we all (Americans) agree on is that nigga is a short form of nigger.

I hope you see the problem.

For you to call President Obama a nigga is the same as calling him a nigger. That's fighting words.... And believe me. That's what you'd get.

Now... If you simply kept to saying Obama was a rude, non-qualified, weak, left-wing idiot... 60% of us (Americans) would now agree.

And... Notwithstanding what you may have heard from those who want to condemn the U.S., the vast majority of us do not take kindly to racists. The vast majority understood and agree with Martin Luther King who said to “judge a person not by the color of his skin, but the character of his heart”.

So, I apoligize if I was a bit touchy... Cultural misunderstands suck.

I believe the real name of one of his two “Nigga” Labradors was “Gibson”... after Guy Gibson, I reckon...

The other was named “Nelson” .... How RN can one get :-)))

Geoff first you never asked me anything because I've not said a derogatory inference prior to that post, which was for effect to the previous idiots barrage of verbal sewage. My apologies to your partner.

You are quite correct - THINK's very dated caricature creation, “DOD ” did have 2 dogs - “ Nelson” and “Nigger”.

CFK has embarrassed herself on the world stage and now she must cower at home, instead of facing actual world Leaders at the G20 conference.

    Just another 'convenient' malady.
