HMS Argyll hosts Prince Charles and Colombian president Santos in Cartagena
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, accompanied by the President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos and First Lady Maria Clemencia Rodriguez, visited Royal Navy frigate HMS Argyll alongside in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia on Friday, 31 October. Disclaimer & comment rulesWell it would seem finally that things are starting to change in South America. Clearly, Colombia has no concerns about hosting the hated British and the Royal Navy even though it has been expressly forbidden by Argentina. It's nice to see at least one Latam country not having their foreign policy dictated by others.

Having lived in Colombia for six years I can assure Mamarracho No.1(paulcedron) that 99.99% of the Colombian population couldn't care less about the Falklands/Malvinas or even Argentina - they haven't a clue where the islands are and some don't even know where Argentina is.

We can do that. And then the land forces come ashore. The TAM versus Challenger 2 main battle tanks. Like a Mini facing a bulldozer. But do try to keep your spirits up. National pride is wonderful. Trouble is, you have nothing to be proud of. Unless it's the speed at which you can run 2 miles. Just shows what argies are like. Totally divorced from reality. You seem to be taking a very odd view of things for an “Aussie”
What is interesting about this plaque is that it ONLY honors the British soldiers who died trying to invade Cartagena from the Spaniards under the command of Edward Vernon. No mention of Colombian or Spanish soldiers who died defending the city under the great military command of General blas De Leso.

Go on, just 'Google' it. Venezuealan school children are brainwashed on the subject in a depressingly similar manner as Argentine kids are over the 'malvina' fantasy beloved by their great leader, and Maduro's ideological bed-fellow, the fragrant Krass-tina.
