Wow they must be beside themselves with excitement. I would have been stoked to go to a foreign country when I was that age.

We're assuming that because they come from such a small pool of players that they'll be rubbish and get thrashed. Wouldn't it be an eyebrow raiser if they actually won it!

I assume Michael Betts is related in some way to “Alejandro” ?

You (Idlehands) assume wrong & Michael Betts is not related to Alejandro Betts, That Moron has nothing to do with the British Falkland Islands & therefore would have nothing to do with this young Falkland Islands team travelling to a friendly neighbouring country to play football.

Good luck boys & enjoy every minute.

I thought Alejandro Betts still had family living on the islands doesn't he?

Win or lose, this is GREAT for the Falklands and it's GREAT for Chile.

Chile gets to promote friendlier relations with the Falkland Islanders and these lucky, LUCKY 10 - 12 year olds get to travel to a different country ( win ) and get to play football ( double win ).

So much win all round!! and, as Chopper at 6 says:-

Good luck boys & enjoy every minute.

    @Aussiesunshine
The German team that humiliated Brazil 7-1 last summer only managed to put 4 past Gibraltar, in Germany, last night. The Faroe Islands used to get hammered by everyone whereas last night they won in Greece so it will take a few years but Gibraltar will become more competitve. And even if they don't, they have taken their place among the footballing nations. So I wish these young Falkland Islanders all the best - win, lose or draw, do your country proud.

Gibraltar's very existence in EUFA means that Spain already lost.

Gibraltar did better against Germany, than Brazil did against Germany in the World Cup :-)

We need a Gibraltar vs Holland match to see if Gibraltar do better than Spain did when losing 1-5 to Holland.

gibraltar playing football is a waste of time and money.
that's why they will never have a place in the fifa and they will be expelled from the uefa, sooner than later.

and for the genius who said that germany humiliated brazil, brazil at least tried to play football.
all of the players of gibraltar were always behind the ball.
    that is not football.
germany did not score 4 more goals only because of its ineptitude, not because of gibraltar virtues in defence.

Falklanders are always welcomed in Punta Arenas and all the “bla-bla, yes the Malvinas is yours” BS, is just lip service...
In any case, they should have a great time.
