The world is floating on oil.
ln S.E.Asia for example, they drill, find oil, cap the well, mark it on their maps & move on.
    No attempt to exploit it.
l have friends in the oil industry & have been told this a lot.
At one site in north-western Australia, in the desert, they used to lay down oil on the dirt exploration roads to keep down the dust!
ln western Queensland, the oil only needs to be filtered to be used in a diesel engine.
This is not hearsay, l have seen it done, myself.
l always thought that crude oil was black, until l spoke to an lndustrial Chemist.
She showed me oil straight out of the ground that was green, reddish brown & almost clear.
Oil shortages are manipulated to keep the prices up.
    Just my two bob's worth!

It has to end some day. Tech and markets will adapt in time as the price goes up and production decreases.

It will run out eventually, as will every other natural resource. Oil prices are manipulated, the Middle East have down to an art form. At the present time however there is over supply.

The US is investing shale oil profits into mega Gas to Liquids plants, the LPG supply from Australia will dwarf the thick black stuff, they are also leading the way with polymer productions from gas. This scare story will thankfully dead in the water in 15 years time.

    greater investment to the islets?
    lol

    1. that dirty water (you funnily call oil) is worthless.
    2. that little company premier lol does not even have the funds to extract mud.
    3. the fact that none of the big companies are interested in that tiny oil well is the best proof.

And yet Argentina has no say or power to have anything to do with it.

Puerile-cedron is just getting boring and repetitive these days.

As for those in the oil-exploration business, they do tend to think very much in the long-term. Another thing he fails to understand.

    Frank,
They can't afford to buy it.
They can't afford to frack it.
So they will be back at the table soon... best pass them a very long-handled spoon...

The crude oil in Alberta is stinky, thick and green. I know, I had to scrub it off every day! Must have a bit of sulphur content, some nasty H2S gas in some wells.

Still, the U.S. are investing multiple billions of $$$$ in the Oil Sands of Ft. MacMurray, I know, I had more than a few drinks with their executives, onsite.

    I
I can tell you, the U.S. is not afraid to pay Big Money for a reliable 'domestic' supply.

Had a good time over wine and dinner with Financial Advisors who flew in twice a week, to personally counsel the oil mgmt personnel!

Oil exploration and production involves such huge amounts of $$$ - the Falklanders will do very well - lots to go around !!

    :-)
