Dec 05th, 2014 - 11:36 am 0Look how the brass has stained the base. I wonder if that´s a natural process which will simply go away with time or if it has to be cleaned (maybe it´s an old pic).
I´ve seen many impressive brass statues over granite bases in Buenos Aires and I never seen such stains :/

Dec 05th, 2014 - 12:00 pm 0It's probably copper chloride (copper in the brass reacting with chloride ions in the salt-water spray). You probably wouldn't see the greening effect as much in Buenos Aires because you don't get as much seawater spray (both because it's relatively sheltered, and because the salinity of the water is lower at the surface).
What are the odds that Argentina tries to claim the commemorations are:
Dec 05th, 2014 - 12:09 pm 0a) provocation
b) militarisation
c) cover for NATO planting nuclear weapons there
d) a threat to the region
e) A PIRAT VIOLATION OF THE SOVEREIGNTY OF LAS MALVINAS ARGENTINAS which naturally is supported by every country in the world without exception, and by the beasts of the land and the fish in the sea
