The sale of cars, commercial vehicles, trucks and buses in Brazil dropped 7.15% last year compared to 2013, and reached 3.498 million according to the Brazilian federation of car dealers, Fenabrave. It is the largest drop for the industry in twelve years and the second consecutive fall.
In effect in 2013, car sales had already fallen 0.9% compared to 2012, following a steady annual growth since 2004. Fenabrave is also anticipating that sales this year will continue sliding but in the range of 0.5%, probably reaching 3.479 million.
Taking into account only cars and commercial vehicles which reached 3.328 million last year, the decrease was 6.91% compared to 2013 when 3.575 million where sold. As to trucks and buses, sales dropped 7.15% totaling 169.095 units of which 137.054 trucks and 32.041 buses.
As to December figures, sales totaled 396.996 units, which represents an increase of 25.75% over the month of November and 4.75% compared to a year ago. This means that 353.558 more cars and commercial vehicles were sold, up 26.35% over November 2014 and 5.25% over December 2013. Heavy commercial vehicles totaled 16.438 of which 13.698 trucks and 2.740 buses, up 10.90% over November but 8.11% lower than in December 2013

Saying things are getting better, doesn't make it so: you have to actually DO something that works for the economy.
Two failures there then.
