Nothing will come of this unless Obuma gets involved and even then it will be the usual obfuscation and lies from TMBOA.

Don't they realise that this murder is against the goverrnment?

It is interesting that the USA has made a comment.
There has been bad blood between the two governments since the Argentines detained an American Air Force cargo jet and Clinton actually question the sanity of CFK. Obama has visited Brazil and Chile, but avoided Argentina.

Ask how many in Argentina remember, or care.

    lol.

As for the US gov and congress... You can 'demand' all day and night. Last time I checked, your actual power in Argentina is.... 0.

@3 I thought they 'called for' a thorough investigation rather than 'demanded'. It is important that CFK knows the world is watching how Argentina handles this investigation. You might not care but she most definitely does, hence her posting a letter in English for the international community.

“Ask how many in Argentina remember, or care.” This is an interesting comment and more important than you seem to realise. The short attention span of the general public in Argentina is a very real concern in bringing the murderer(s) to justice. If you listened to Argentines that do care about their country, this is something they are talking about right now.

    Dear Jen:

Do you really think that we are all that stupid? Obamer is lusting after his “Camp David Accord” legacy ala Jimmy Cotter. [Looks like the Palestinians are still enjoying the peanut appeaser's peace - aren't they!] Your appeaser-in-chief campaigned on his ability to negotiate with the iranians as opposed to contain them. Abject failure to date as the iran nuclear program edges forward as well as their sphere of influence.

This is why Obamer has secretly lobbied Cretina/cronies to whitewash the iranian attacks - Velayati wants to travel outside iran again. Mr. Nisman's murderer could just as easily be someone doing Obamer's bidding.

Psaki, you are the biggest joke in the diplotech (and uglier than sin to boot).

Every time Argentina makes international news it makes itself look bat sh*t crazy corrupt, inept and now murderous thugs.
Which of course is a correct way to view the Ks and the majority of their supporters.

The trouble is it won't get better with s new administration. Its only going to get worse.
There's nothing to stop this train wreck we all just have to watch the horror in slow motion.

What a sad and desperate place.

@3. Well, if you don't care, we don't care. I trust that you understand what this means.

Defiance is one thing. Refusing to comply with the norms of the world's society is something else.

You won't be looking for consideration or 'respect', will you? One wonders how someone supposedly from a 'country' that likes to refer to British 'pirates' can display such lack of consideration for both justice and law.

But then, when we look at the wider picture, we can see the reality. Argieland likes to trumpet its intention to progress its illegal claim to the Falkland Islands by diplomacy and negotiation. Although it conducts an economic war in contravention of the UN Charter. So what we can see is that argieland and argies habitually lie. I wonder how many argies can distinguish between lies and truth? You certainly can't. Especially as you create many lies yourself.

I wonder how you equate your approach and attitudes to your suggested regard for your 'country'. Using Twinky-Poo's analogy, every lie you tell, every disregard you display for people, societal and international norms, justice, law and truth drives at least one more nail into argieland's coffin. And your 'allies' can see it. Congratulations. All by yourself you are destroying the credibility and worth of your 'cuntry'.

Do you wonder why the 'hold-outs' pursue argieland? It's because of you. There will be those that read boards like this and walk away thinking “That's an argie. Screw 'em!”

Isn't the law of unintended consequences a wonderful thing? Thanks for your help in the destruction of your 'country'. Just so's you know, because you'll probably be dead, there will be dancing and singing in the streets at the destruction of argieland. It will probably be broken up into little segments incapable of ever threatening anybody. It may need food aid. Or cannibalism.

The “US government and Congress” has not called for a “complete and impartial” investigation. What has happened is that the administration and Sen. Bob Menendez, the ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, have made the call. I know that it is difficult for Mercopenguin, a propaganda operation of an undemocratic British government, to understand this but Sen Menendez is not the Congress. He is not even the Senate. He is the ranking member and nothing more.

I would like to see a resolution in Congress that does make this call. It is important that Congress take a positive interest in America and, most especially, South America.

“complete and impartial” investigation into the death of Nisman is the right thing to do not because USA or any other fifth world country ask(or not) for it.

What about a “complete and impartial” investigation into the death of hundreds of thousands in an illegal invasion of Iraq by USA and UK?

“……but Sen Menendez is not the Congress. He is not even the Senate. He is the ranking member and nothing more.”

But judicial authorities in the US are investigating his death and the US state department has called for a ‘complete and impartial investigation’. It is typical of Argentine apologists to try and split hairs and diminish the seriousness of this atrocity by attacking the reporting of it. Suffice to say that this latest argentine atrocity is judged with great concern by not only the US government but other freedom loving democratic governments around the world. These includes proper democracies like Australia, the UK and Canada.

Miss Piggy and the rest of her Muppets that are up to their armpits in this crime have demonstrated, yet again, the sort of ruthless corrupt regime they run. In the eyes of the world and decent Argentines this is the last straw; they stand condemned by their own evil words and deeds. The few apologists who have come out from under their rocks and tried to justify or distract attention from the repugnant actions of the Argentine government stand condemned with it.

or a “complete and impartial” investigation into how TMBOA got very rich, very suddenly

or a “complete and impartial” investigation into police corruption in your country

Or a“complete and impartial” investigation into corrupt politicians in your country

oh the list goes on ( and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on )

Well, seems you brought up the subject of “complete and impartial” investigations, answer me this........ Is it possible to have a “complete and impartial” investigation in argentina?

    IS IT???

@19. Let me get this straight. The 'administration' of the U.S. can be ignored. That is, after all, who the state department speaks for. Shall we continue down that line and ignore the 'administration' of argieland?

You want to see a resolution in the U.S. Congress? Why? Argieland's 'administration' pays very little attention to its Congress. Why does the argie president issue so many 'decrees'?
@20. As toooldtodieyoung asks, are you ready for some complete and impartial investigations into things in your country. Nd I can add some to the list.
How about a complete and impartial investigation into the genocides inn the two 'Conquests of the Desert'?

A complete and impartial investigation into Timerman and his attacks on Uruguay.

A complete and impartial investigation into the theft of land from Paraguay, ditto the theft of electricity, ditto the movement of a nuclear power plant close to the Paraguayan border without consultation.

We can have a complete and impartial investigation into the attack on, and the invasion and occupation of the Falkland Islands, ignoring the UN. And the war crimes. And the continued illegal 'claims'. And the breaches of the UN Charter by conducting an economic war/blockade.

Oh, and the Iraqi WMDs WERE found. So the war WAS justified. The war WASN'T illegal. Hussein LIED.

You need to keep up with things instead of just slurping up argie 'government' propaganda.

Let's not allow speculation to misdirect the obvious and forget Occam's razor. We know where the fewest assumptions point and who had the most to lose and gain. People can live with speculation as a murderer, but proof as aiding and abetting a terrorist nation as a world leader.....the would not sit well with the free world.

Culturally for them that is significant, or as much as they can do. There trolls on this MP site are not representative of a lot of Argentine's. Haven't you noticed that during your trips there?

Realistically there is very little that can be done. Though they have guns, but mot 1/3 of the population like Americans. A revolt is unrealistic. The country is run via corruption that trickles down. The military coup is a poor option for a quasi almost “democracy” even if they had a military, which they do not. I chuckled when my father in law asked in jest.......“you Americans invade and rebuild everyone, can't you invade us?” Thinking back on that statement, that is probably the only hope for Argentina is for someone to invade them and hand the country back to the people. Maybe Chile can. Doubtful though. Half of the people are suffering the Stockholm syndrome and the rest are beat down to a level of apathy.

There are a lot of good people in Argentina.......but not many on this site. Simone68 was one who has not posted in sometime.

I'm sure that, if nothing else, there is plenty of pressure within Argentina for an investigation. But a resolution of Congress is appropriate - because it is the right thing to do.

So, what about Iraq? Its a fair question. As you did not quite get around to implying there is more than one congress in America. So I would think that a resolution from the Congress of Argentina urging the US to fully investigate the crimes detailed in the recent US Senate report on torture - to identify a more concrete subject than the one you have - would be quite proper.

39 On a recent vacation we met many Argentines and had dinner with a nice couple that have baby twins. They told us they had to move out of the city due to crime and it not being safe to raise children. It made me think of how hopeless a place it is for regular people.
My post is a statement of the obvious, that all the noise about the investigation is just that noise. Argentina is to corrupt from the top down and nothing impartial could possibly take place right now.
