The Royal Navy's Atlantic Patrol Tasking HMS Dragon called at Tristan da Cunha, one of the most remote islands on the planet, on the latest stage of her Atlantic deployment. There is no land to the west for more than 2,000 miles, South Africa is 1,750 miles to the east and the nearest inhabited locality is another British Overseas Territory 1,510 miles away. @2. Still jealous, Pablo? As you suggest, the United Kingdom/Great Britain/Britain has a number of territories around the world. Tristan da Cunha is part of the British overseas territory of Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha. Is your description of it as an 'illegal colony' on the same sort of basis as calling the Falkland Islands an 'illegal colony'? So it's 'illegal' because you can't have it.

You're a very sad and ignorant individual. Think on this. Martin Garcia Island is British. It was, after all, temporarily occupied by ANGLO-French forces. It's even in Uruguayan waters! An example of argie terrorism. When are you giving it back?

@2 So what should happen to Tristan da Cunha? It's far to small to be independent, no other country lays claim to it, the families have been there for generations and there happy being a British overseas territory. So how is this illegal and why does it bother you?

I agree, what Britain is doing on Ascension Island is disgusting, much like Diego Garcia, and those families have been on all three islands for generations and should have the right to remain there and they are happy living on Ascension, that's why they want to stay. So ummmm not sure what your getting at here Pauly.

And anyway, can you prove that Brazil has a territorial dispute regarding these territories? I can't find anything, there is this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Territorial_disputes_of_Brazil

    Wrong again!
That applies to Argentina, a failing state with no history to speak of, basically just an international nobody. It is Argentina that must confine itself within its borders and stay away from countries like the Falklands.

Britain, on the other hand, has a long and distinguished maritime history; it has friends and responsibilities all over the world. So, like it always has, the RN will range far and wide across the globe, visiting Britain's friends and protecting and assisting the inhabitants of the numerous British territories that it has responsibility for. That includes the Falkland Islands.

Btw, for a person who likes to be finicky about other writer’s grammar, you should take a look at your own!

Pathetic ! Why are you so shit scared of such a tiny little country ?
Yes Britain is geographically small in world terms whereas Argentina is a large geographic area full of eff-all of any value-including it's inhabitants.
It's main export being whinging and the spreading of Fairy Stories about a mythical Malvinas island group that they tried to steal, but were put in their rightful place by a superior race.
“3/4 parts of the world are their formal or informal enemies”“ I would have put that figure higher in the case of Argentina but I will accept your no doubt
highly researched figure for Argentina's world standing.
”they are a colony“ No more so than Argentina.

    ”I guess I’m missing something here. Do I? “
You have got it in one ! You always miss the point.
OK explain to me what a song from a Glaswegian folksinger and poet about Ranger's football supporters and Aberdeen supporters has anything to do with Wales. Specifics please and not your wild generalities which come from your fevered imagination.
By the way, it would probably be more understandable if you wrote in Spanish as your English at times lacks clarity .
eg May be that explains why you have ever won anything in a world cup???

The use of the word ”ever“ indicates that Scotland HAVE won something in the World Cup.
The only ”winners ” are the ones who are the outright champions followed by the runners-up. Scotland , on occasions, have won some games in the finals but have never been good enough to progress further.
I have never regarded ANY country's worth by their ability to run around trying to kick a ball into a net. In that context, China or the USA would be worthless.

Of course calling the Falklands anything other than a colony is anathema to those Argentines who prosecute the great Malvinas myth, because they think that classifying the Falklands as a colony helps their fraudulent claim.

Unfortunately for Argentina, its 1982 invasion precipitated a change in the Island’s status from colony to Overseas Territory (Self Governing). But to the Falkland Islanders it’s their land, their Island home, their country.

After all if that great shit hole of a place called Argentina can desecrate the title of ‘Country’, the Falklands more than qualify for the title.

But this is not about semantics it is a lot more serious, it is an argument about fairness and decency and the rights of a unique people to exist peacefully in their own country and enjoy the freedoms that civilised people take for granted. It is about jackbooted neighbours imposing trade and communication embargos, harassing the Islanders and continually questioning their right to exist at International forums. Because of Argentine duplicity, the Islanders are excluded from many of these forums. Argentina does not have the courage to face those that it persecutes in public.

The fact that, in some forums, Argentina escapes censure for its behaviour does not imply that it is acting correctly it is simply a sad indictment of the indifference of some counties to the principles of self-determination and freedom for all peoples. Argentina should draw no comfort from this complicity, the sad fact is that Argentina is a disgrace, its actions and rhetoric towards the Islanders is morally reprehensible and people like yourself and the other muppets who lend support by spouting your crap are equally dammed. Shame on all or you!

Nope is not like that and so simple, the islands are in dispute between Argentina and United Kingdom and none in this world have recognised these Islands as a country.

Thing that will never happen while Argentina keeps claming the land as part of her territories.

So let’s get real, shall we?

You are living in a territory under dispute and a nation like Argentina with 200 years is claming to UK this territory as part of her.

Meanwhile this keep going on, due to UK intransigent to keep the status quo you are just squatters.
