Historically terrorist groups have renounced violence, but my advice is to kill them all. (I know, not politically correct .)

    @ 1
I understand your feelings, but in this case, in won't work. It just breeds more violence. From both sides.

“So far, the two sides have agreed on three of the six points of the agenda to end the conflict, which is estimated to have claimed the lives of more than 220,000 people.””

220,000 people. How much more blood do you want to see? Another 30 years of this?
I hope this is the beginning of a resolution, a peaceful outcome for all. Colombia has massive potential, with Chile they could lead the continient into a much more positive future. But this needs to be resolved, to continue to keep fighting these pointless battles without end, well, that is madness.
It is possible to solve these issues, mot perfectly, but it is possible.

    Agreed Ilsen

While the Colombian government was not wrong to fight FARC, it has not defeated them in 50 years.

It was time to try something different and Santos has (so far) done that successfully. Colombia is already reaping the benefit of the drop in violence.

FARC will not get everything it wants from peace. And neither will the Colombian government and people. However everyone will need to compromise to some degree to fully enjoy the peace.

@1. When I read up on FARC I noticed that it described as a guerilla organisation that has sometimes used terrorism. Considerable thought needs to be given to the motivations behind actions.

For instance, at the end of WW2, Hitler and Mussolini were dead, most nazis were running for their lives and the German and Italian people woke up. To maintain the situation, the country of the prime instigator was occupied for many years.

In the Far East, Tojo was hanged and Japan was occupied.

The Soviet Union, despite its activities before changing sides, got off scot-free and caused even more problems.

The Allies could have hanged or shot everyone, but didn't.

So think carefully about who you brand a terrorist organisation and who should all be killed.

For example, every 'member' and supporter of ISIL MUST be hunted down and killed. As must every 'member' and supporter of Al Qaeda. There are many other scummy organisations for whom the same can be said.

In Asia, there is little of Russia or China that is worth having. The killing of anyone in any organ of state would be entirely justified. Much the same goes for North Korea. Africa needs to be rolled over with the largest armoured army ever seen and then have civilisation imposed. The likes of Mugabe and Zuma should be killed as soon as they are seen.

Latam is a bit more difficult. A careful investigation of the political scene should be undertaken. And then all peronists should be hanged. Various 'political' parties and gangs should be banned. Membership to justify 20-year prison sentences, but prisoners to walk the streets and work in chain gangs. Also, any 'veterans' of the Falklands War could be shot as war criminals. After proper trials held on the Falkland Islands under British law.

Notice the difference? You eliminate those that have made the greater number suffer.
