Argentine president Cristina Fernandez will remain with the family at her private home in El Calafate, Patagonia, most of next week thus avoiding the Wednesday 18 February 'silent march' organized by prosecutors and judicial unions on the month of special prosecutor Alberto Nisman's still unsolved death. Problem? Run away.

Speaking to a good friend in BsAs yesterday she said, 'I just can't read anymore about Nisman'. And that is how the government gets away with it. Short attention span. Ignore the crowds. Change the subject. Never refer back to it. Hide. The problem disappears and the corruption continues……..

To be honest, I don't blame my friend. She needs some medical treatment that would be considered minor here but she is being sent from clinic to clinic because they don't have the very basic equipment needed to do the minor op.

You have to admit that TMBOA knows her people well.

Keep deflecting, blame others and leave the scene of the crime and it will all blow over.

The argies really do have the attention span of a gnat.

It's striking how often Cristina is photographed with cute animals and fluffy toys. She seems to love contriving images that make her look girlish and vulnerable. I can't imagine any of the prominent female leaders of my lifetime ( Thatcher, Aquino, Megawatti, Gillard, Clark, Bachelet ) wishing to be perceived that way.

I think we can see the reality. Capitanich has a problem with the concept of 'democracy'. If people want to do something, who is Capitanich to say “when none of this should happen,”

No member of the argie so-called 'government' should be complaining about it when others do what they do.

It's interesting to see that there is an international airport nearby. Also close to the border with Chile. Interestingly, it's virtually a government airport. The only airlines are Aerolineas Argentinas, LAN Argentina and LADE. So, a quick call from BA, a drive to the airport, board any available aircraft and it's straight over the border. Might it be north to Bolivia? How many bags will have to be loaded? Does she have 'friends' down there? Did they profit when US$1 million disappeared from the Santa Cruz treasury? What does anyone Think?

Unable to sycophantly support her any longer, he's forced to save his commentary for how she is photographed.

Yep! Nice safe territory there. No talking about the multiple investigations or the suspicious suicide or the economy or selling the country to the Chinese or her obscene rise in wealth or the fact no other head of state would be caught dead taking a selfie with her..... but that her coat was made by abos!

Perhaps, given the direction the “ investigative ” wind is now blowing, CFK could be preparing to defect and seek asylum in the Falkland Islands.

Her 191 expensive new Samsonite bags already packed, she merely summons Tango 1 for an unscheduled “tour” of the coastline, heading out to sea at low altitude to fool the radar, with a box of tissues in hand for the customs authorities.

If the Falklands authorities refuse her request, there is always Zimbabwe, which as we know is even closer to her bulging bank accounts in the Seychelles.

How does that song go again ? Oh yes: “ Don't cry for me, Argentina, as I have looted all I can from you. ” ( chorus, chorus )

The opposition and their allies in the judiciary are keeping this affair in life support because their political credibility continues to fly low. That's not the point. The point is you people try to convince me that your societies are peaceful and safe to live in.

Getting shot while teaching your kid how to drive, or being a six year old and getting shot while in your own class, or being a couple doing nothing but watching a movie and getting shot, or being in your house and seeing your whole family getting shot, does not seem like a successful model of a society. I guess I'm just weird like that, thinking getting shot at in mall, school, or a supermarket is uncivilized... as is being killed for talking to a police officer, or for selling a pack of cigarettes.

deep down, he knows the truth. His future is bleak. Hence the anguish and the hatred and the utter, utter jealousy.
Nevermind, they get the govt. they deserve. Ultimately people like penguin-cedron are responsible for the state of Argentina.
Apathy and the culture of corruption is their down-fall.

it seems the ones who confuse everything are you and your alter ego ilsen.
which is pretty predictable because you dont even know where buenos aires is located.

so, you read some news in this 4th class newspaper and you repeat it like a parrot.

you are against kirchner or whoever you want, but you dont have the slightest clue why.

but the funniest part is when you, bunch of retards, say that england is like the paradise on earth, that they do not have 13 million people under the poverty line, or hundreds of thousands who starve to death.

again, you and the ultra k are the same kind of brainwashed crap.

“The story is always the same”, explains our local analyst. “They make promises to get elected. The promises cost more money than they have. They borrow. And they go broke about once every ten years. The last crisis was in 2002. We’re overdue.”

In the interest of full disclosure, we’re not above taking advantage of people who do stupid things. After all, when Humpty Dumpty gets up on a wall, you should give him a push. Otherwise, how will he ever learn to stay on the ground?

Methinks Paul doesn't know the difference between what we consider in the civilized world as malnutrition and starving to death.

I would bet 1/2 to 2/3 of the population of Argentina would be considered being in a state of malnutrition with our standards.

Just like poverty where I live is a family making under U$30K/yr or $405,000 Pesos or 9X more than a teacher in your country.
    See the difference?

    Are the doctors, “too busy”

and as i have said before, the imbeciles of this 4th class site use the same arguments of la campora and the ultra k....that the poverty of their countries cannot be considered poverty, that true poverty is what the africans suffer, and all that shite.

and you imbecile toy, it is not that the inhabitants of villa 31 have free access to healthcare, the whole population have.

Still waiting to see where it says“starved to DEATH”
I think you are are inclined to gross over exaggeration.
As to your article....to quote the disclaimer
“The statements, views and opinions expressed in this column are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of RT.”

The bedroom tax is NOT a tax and applies only to rented accommodation. Government benefits are given to help with housing costs for those on reduced incomes who receive benefits. There is an acute shortage of public/rented accommodation. There are many couples receiving subsidies for houses with two or three bedrooms when only one is required. It is felt that they should downsize the rented house and make it available to a larger family OR they should be made to pay the economic rent. Hence“bedroom tax”
It sounds reasonable on paper but the implementation is anything but.

I'd also say that Detroit is the city that is most comparable to Buenos Aires. Once a glorious city with amazing architecture and lots of money but over many years of very bad government it has been ruined. I have not been to Detroit in about a decade but I have friends there and there's a huge revival going on now. The pics they post of all the new restaurants, clubs, hotels downtown are pretty spectacular.
And you've never seen anything more lovely that the suburbs surrounding Detroit. The amount of money there is incredible and the houses are amazing.

I'd bet most Rgs would give their left nut to be able to live there.
