    Britain leading the way again.
    Any support from Argentina?
Apparently they 'claim' to be most interested in Antartica...
They like a lot of claims, but inaction seems the preferred path when it comes to it.
Or are they too busy 'a la casa'?
    hmm...

Better send a warship down just in case Argentine fishing boats need some extra help understanding that there is a marine reserve there.

By including Pitcairn & Ascension lslands in the same article as the South Sandwich lslands, l wouldn't doubt that Argentina will “claim” those lslands too!
Hey malvinistas, lets hear your spiel, how the “Argentine authorities & population” were expelled from Pitcairn in 18??.
    Losers.

Protected areas are always a good thing.
    I salute that decision.

Another 0.7 million square miles barred to argieland! Wn't be long before we can join up Ascension Island, St Helena, Falkland Islands, South Georgia, South Sandwich Islands and the British Antarctic Territory. A new region to be called the British South Atlantic bomb, missile and torpedo range. Places in proximity may wish to note that British nuclear-powered submarines use the area constantly. Air-refuelled Typhoons do bomb and cruise missile practice. All RN vessels practice with missiles. And British submarines fire torpedos, as well.

A necessary step if anything is going to survive overfishing.

The difficulty is always policing these things, probably not a problem for Ascension or the South Sandwich Islands, however even with satellites Pitcairn is not so easy.

@8. Do you have an atlas? No problem with Gibraltar. I have this plan where BGTW is buoyed with chains. No just chains to join the buoys, but also chains to detonate the seabed 50,000 lb buried mines. So sensitive that if an untrained diver touches the mine, it explodes. Big enough to lift a spanish aircraft carrier out of the water and break its back. A Guardia Civil boat might fly a mile! Benidorm and Magaluf are nothing to do with Britain. Just places existing in 17th century spain.
@9. I didn't mind Benidorm quite a few years ago. But the spanish have lost track. Not being a state with an ability to properly manage an economy, it has no idea. There isn't a lot of difference between spain and argieland. In spain you can get unemployment benefit for only 2 years. Spain is so many decades behind.

During the 1982 football world cup the first Burger King branch in Spain was opened in Benedorm. At the time we lived in Valencia so my then teen aged children twisted my arm to drive down to Benedorm to try the burgers. We have never been back!! Dreadful place!

As long as they remain British, they will be looked after.

    Come on gents!
WE love having in Spain Magaluf and Benidorm ! we keep in one place all those hordes of brats ( sorry Brits) on benefits going on holidays at expenses of Uk payers, feeding them with cheap food and nasty drinks and giving them the illusion they are having a good time!....

    @12 conqueror
Yes you get max 2 years unemployment benefit, that is correct. Nevertheless, I prefer the system in UK, free housing , free money , the only thing you have to do is to claim I am too fat to work, I cant be arse to find a job,I like being lacy and inbreeding to perpetuate the situation.

    Lovely
