Luis Figo has pledged to distribute “2.5 billion” among the member associations of FIFA if he is elected president in May. He also wants to expand the World Cup, and proposes a term limit of 12 years for the presidency. Read full article

I like the idea of 40 teams in the WC but it’s completely unrealistic if you are to take the tournament out of Europe. Russia just like Brazil just proved will suck as hosts the differences of temperature and teams having to travel long distances for each venue. Figo supports African football but, African countries have neither the infrastructure nor the security to support 40 teams plus millions of fans.

The lesson is biding countries that have to build up everything end up net losing money in these events like the Olympics and the WC.

So the only and ideal option remains Europe, small countries, all the infrastructure in place, security, money, mild climate, etc.

There are 56 countries in Europe. So, non-european countries by invitation only. No cheating latams. No militarily trained russkis or chinks. Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the US will be okay if they can remember the proper shape of the ball. A choice out of 60 proper countries.

But for that you already have the Euro cup, which you have never won and fail to classify in 2008. How are you going to win a World Cup if you never won a Euro cup?? Even Denmark has one, you don’t. When was the last time England beat a big size rival in a official tournament ??

Argentina 12 years ago. Im not talking about the big winning European teams like Netherlands, Germany, Italy or Spain. Any medium one like France, Portugal, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark sends you losers home.

Its not the cheating latams, your players are losers and pussies.

They say, their is over 18,000 empty islands around the world,
cannot we find one big enough and stage the world cup and others their permanently,
surely it would save billions to any country having to host the things,
just a thought.
