“Maduro didn't specify the powers that the law would grant him or say exactly how he would apply them. He also announced that the military would stage exercises around Venezuela ...”
Reaally? WTAF? (oops, for those that can't cope with actual adult responses, it means What The Actual Fuck?)
Hope that is clear, and you haven't wet yourselves at such outrage...
    lol!
Meanwhile, back to actual life/death situations...
He wants to have these Powers, by Decree. (see above)
What part of 'dictatorship' do you not understand?

Still the wussy leftist-liberal apologists in Europe support him because he is 'socialist', when will they learn?
Sometimes I actually miss CD2, to kick some Vnzln arse...
    They need it.

Indeed, what Maduro need is more knowledge about macro and micro economics, about fiscal monetary policies and about trade and diplomacy. Besides, he should manage the country and act with mentaly stability as self by erasing Chavez's character and overall by implementing inertia at his split personality; being that all the tools he needs to operate the country successfully.

Apologies to those that have already seen this/double post etc

But I am responding to a different set of posters..

So, let's deal with some Facts.

Welcome to the Truth in Vnzla.

    7o% inflation
    25000 violent deaths per annum
    30% scarcity of basic goods
    48.4% poverty levels
A corrupt Govt. that has US$1.4 billion in ONE Swiss bank account under the name of ONE minor govt. Minister...]

    Official Exchange Rate = 6.3 BSF / US$
    'Blue/street' Exchange Rate = approx. 200 BSF /US$

The fear, desperation and sense of hopelessness amongst the population.

The serious lack of medicines and equipment in the hospitals.
50000 Cuban 'advisors' in the country, and in the Army and Secret Police.
A President that now rules by decree.
Shooting unarmed protestors in the street.
28 opposition Mayors imprisoned without charge.
Over 1ooo student demonstrators imprisoned without charge.

A collapsing oil-price that means Vnzla can no longer 'white-wash' its failed economic principles, and may default soon.
A country that has earned US$800 billion in the past 15yrs is in debt to China and still begging them for more debt?

. He also announced that the military would stage exercises around Venezuela on Saturday to ensure that the “Yankee boot” can never touch the South American oil country.

He has also decreed, as he now can, that the GNB, or National Guard/Militarised Police can shoot live ammunition at UNARMED protestors..
Which is directly against the very Constitution those Chavistas voted into existence, but nary a peep out of them!
They have voted, not the people, but the uni-camaral 'senate' , (the people are kept busy queue-ing for rice and toilet-roll), for 'Decree Powers' for Maduro.
He is now asking for more. Today!
It is happening, Right now! The only coup is one by stealth of the castro-cubanistos.
    Bastards!

Maduro, if there is any dignity left in you, quit. And with your resign, take with you that clownish failed experiment called chavism.

The lack of medicines, the scarcity of anti-sceptics in hospitials, the scarcity of clean needles etc. is actually causing deaths in Vnzlan hospitals.
The Doctors and Nurses are crying.
Maduro is a murderer of his own people.
    That is now a Fact.

We have this nut President Nicolas Maduro
    and his anti American

and we have this nut CFK who is anti British,

so even if you combine both nutters , both can do nothing but use threatening rubbish,

    Do we really care.
    NO.

    He wants 'expanded powers'?

He is already ruling by 'decree'.

What more does this crazy, insecure, power-hungry bastard want?

However, Diosdado Cabello is the one to watch. The 'Eminence Grise'.

He is the true power. I have warned you before.

Where's the 'Klingon' to act as apologist for this deranged, power-crazed, anally-retentive, cretinous, ludicrous, psychopathic wanker. The 'clear and present' danger to the national security of the United States. Bomb the bugger, free the people.

Where is 'Stevie' to say “We are all Chavez”

Where is Brasso to say “We are all Lat Am”

Where is paul-cedron to say “but at least we are not English”

We only have Maduro to say ' we are not gringo' and ' I want more Executive Power to Rule by Decree'

    hmm...

Anyone else see what I am seeing, or is the world blind to this tragedy?

    WELL???

I am getting seriously pissed off about this, do any of you passive armchair warriors actually give a shit?
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TODAY TO CHANGE THIS?

We still have Hepatia and the Sistah Apologists. There is nothing to be done that can change the outcome of the complete and utter destruction of Venezuela. “The People” brought this on themselves through pure greed. They deserve to starve and to die of disease. It is the only way to ”teach' them that Marxism always ends in Hunger and Death, well except for those in the Ruling Party.
V is the lynchpin to putting this madness to rest for a couple decades or a new generation. Just let it roll out and happen as it must.

Good job Maduro. You've managed to piss off a populist, left leaning socialist US president. He was the last, best chance for improved Latin American relations and now Fidel's bus driver & CFK have just written the book on how to screw it up royally. As for Maduro's preparations for US blockades, REALLY? If the country has to resort to corn cobbs & banana leaves to wipe their back side, do you really think the US needs to bother with blockades? Better to let the burning remains of Chavismo implode into the ash heap of history.

    @12 YB
What about the 49% that voted AGAINST Madurro last year and were denied a recount?
Did they 'bring it upon themselves' ?
    Don't be such an arse.
    @15 Klingon
Yes, and so do I !! I regularly transfer US$ to Vnzla, but it only benefits a few. I am not Bill Gates by any stretch, and I doubt you are either.
What about the millions with no access to the black market like our fortunate few?

I am so sick of this regime.
People. Are. Dying. Every. Single. Fucking. Day.

From poverty and lack of medicines, and street violence and Govt. thuggery.

@15. Oh look, here's the arse. MADurine wants to fight 'imperialism'. Strange how few except numbnuts North Korea sees it. And,of course, there's KGB chancer Putin. Engaged in colonialist imperialism. 50-odd years ago Russia tried and failed with puppet Cuba. Is it now Russia and puppet MADurine? He's stupid enough. Perhaps when Venezuelans have been ground into the muck and MADurine has been executed, we can move on to other useless latam 'countries'. How many latam 'countries' need to be taught their 'errors'? argieland, bolivia, brazil, ecuador, paraguay (?), peru, uruguay? The world's shite!

Perhaps he could do a Caligula and have the Army collect sea shells as tokens of his great victory, while they are sunning themselves on the beach watching out for invading Yankee imperialists.
