Hundreds turned out in the western German town of Haltern am See to mourn 16 students and two teachers lost in Tuesday’s Germanwings crash in the French Alps. The Airbus A320 crashed en route to Dusseldorf from Barcelona, likely killing all 150 on board, in what would be the worst air accident on French soil in three decades. Nothing to say except sympathy for the victim's relatives. No doubt we will here what caused the accident in due course.

This is another odd one. A 16 minute apparently controlled descent into a mountain without any distress signals from the cockpit or passengers.

The aircraft had accumulated about 58,300 flight hours on 46,700 flights. The original Design Service Goal (DSG) of the aircraft was 60,000 hours or 48,000 flights. In 2012, an optional Extended Service Goal (ESG1) was approved, extending the service life to 120,000 hours or 60,000 flights, provided that a required package of service and inspections were performed before the DSG was reached.

There is no current information as to whether ESG1 had been carried out. However, the aircraft was transferred from Lufthansa to Germanwings (a Lufthansa low-cost subsidiary) on 31 January 2014.

    @3
Most news sources are saying 8 minutes between loss of contact and impact.
The lack of distress signals seems odd though.

Very sad news for all involved. I hope the investigators can learn what happened in order to prevent any re-occurence.

Apparently “pilot forums” cast their suspicions at cockpit window failure followed by rapid asphyxiation of all on board

    8. Poor EUians, they know nothing about effiency.

The AMIA investigation since 20 years ...(4 for the price of 1)
    + Galleano's cover up.
+ Iran's memorandum to cover up.
    +Nisman's murder.

I said nothing about efficiency, they are very efficient, at being incompetent EUians.

Within minutes of me writing that, news comes out that key elements of the investigation have already leaked!!!

    Typical northern-fiend incompetence.

@10....Unlike the Nisman case where nothing was leaked at all, no smear campaigns, no government 'U' turns..'he commited suicide...no he was murdered, no he.....Iran, clarin....prostitutes, embezzling... shit.. what can we make up now....

If you are talking about the Air Crash investigation, normally they release factual elements to the press to keep people informed as to the progress. What in your opinion has been leaked?

Re: Nisman. Soon after his death the K - gang began spreading rumours of alleged “inappropriate relationship” with his male assistant. They were trying to tarnish Nisman's reputation by claiming he was homosexual. A typical macho attack.
Now, either people didn't care, or didn't believe, but no matter. This smear didn't stick.
A few weeks later and they are claiming he spent government money on escort girls and drugs in straight night clubs and partied like a hardcore heterosexual homeboy!

I think they must be pretty frightened.
    -------------
Meanwhile, back on topic, the news wires are saying that one of the pilots was trapped on the wrong side of a locked door.

It would be better to wait until they find the black boxes and investigate the crash,

others you will end up believing conspiracy theories everywhere,
    and that helps no one,

the truth will come out, and the relatives can then live again.

a sad and tragic event may they rest in peace...

What an ignorant little prat you are. Glorying in the death of 150 people.
You consider yourself as Argentina's finest....I suppose that sums it up.
If you are typical of the Argentinian people then a 100 Megaton blast would do you the world of good....ground zero at Mendoza !!!

Oh please, you EUians would celebrate the death of 40 million argies. Just like you gloried on the death of 40+ on that train two years ago, just to spite CFK. Or the deaths in La Plata a year or so ago, to glory on against the gov too.

Everytime argies die you all celebrate and use the tragedy within minutes for your own personal purposes.

Get out of here, useless Britto!

you idiots should show some respect for the death of 150 people.
and instead of playing the detectives, when it is clear that you dont even have the intelligence to wipe their own ass, you should wait for the test results, flight recorder, etc.

the last results say it was a deliberate act of the 2nd pilot.
    so shut the fuck up.

EUians don't respect the dead. They have shown and proved it EVERY SINGLE TIME they have celebrated, laughed at, and used the death of argies as propaganda vehicles. Can you get more disgusting and sub-human than that?

I have said nothing to insult the dead. I only said the EUians will botch things as per normal (tick), and then than a crazy EUian was a direct cause (and I know crazy EUian is an oxymoron, but had to be stated).

    For once POLLY is correct!

The PIC (Pilot in Charge) went for a pee and the cabin door code was changed by the First Officer before the PIC got back.

To help overcome hijacks from the usual suspects the code can be changed on the flight deck only (in the plane).

I wonder if the cretin who crashed it had recently converted from the “Religion of Peace”, you know the one: they murder everybody who wants to leave or won't join.

Such a tragedy for everyone else on board.

What are you using for a brain ....a leaky sponge ?
A few misguided posters here wish ALL Argentinians ill, so by your twisted logic all Europeans. Americans, Australians and anyone of a supposed “Anglo” background” must also hate Argentinians and wish them destroyed.
Again, by your twisted logic, you should hate everybody in this category and wish them destroyed ....wait a minute, is that not what ISIS wants.
Congratulations, your philosophy coincides with theirs.

Get out of here, useless Britto!
    Where is here ?

As to useless, at least I worked for a living and did not sponge off others as you appear to. What use are you ? You don't work, have never travelled out of your own backyard and do nothing but pontificate about matters outwith your experience. So, it begs the question, what use are you to mankind except for stealing oxygen.

and surely you, like the other piece of scum of ilsen are the kind of people who want to play the detectives when you don't even know to spell your own names.
