Over the many years of my interest in LatAm Politics I have never seen any constructive action from the OAS.
Lots of talk, many statements, but actual, real changes to anything, any influence brought to bear?
    No.
Sadly, just another 'talking shop'. Like UNASUR.

Still, I expect all the representatives from the ALBA Countries will be delighted with an 'all-expenses paid' trip to Washington, where they can spend other people's money on trinkets and toys.

Maybe stash a bit more ill-gotten cash in dodgy bank accounts?

Perhaps they can even take some toilet paper back home to Venezuela etc?

Weird, OAS was the favored place for the U.S. to spread their demands and soft power.

    Now you don't like it?

    We never did...

Just like Mercosur, until we take charge, it's just another of your tools...

Between us: Mr. Almagro is going to end “OAS fragmentation!”

I happen to be very 'pro - Latin America'.

I just happen to believe that most of it is a mismanaged mess.
The reason I am so critical is because I care so very deeply.

Yes, that is what the Argieuruguayo just doesn't understand about my view of my new country either.

Uruguay, with a progressive government, could liberate the citizens from the crushing taxes they have to pay to keep the present mediocre idiots in power.

Still, they voted for them, well not really, they voted for a bunch of idiots running little parties that come together under the banner of the Broad Fraud to carve the jobs up and promote their friends to well paid jobs that they are unqualified. The Pizza Parlour Manager who will shortly be chucked out of her job as Chief of Oncology for Maldonado courtesy of “No Money Pepe” for example!
