Falklands, South Atlantic islands, Antarctica included in new Tierra del Fuego official map

Argentina's most southern province identified as Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic islands is redesigning its internal political limits with the purpose of “contributing to the territorial sovereignty of the Nation”, according to a bill sent to the provincial legislative by governor Fabiana Ríos and drafted with help from the Malvinas Question Advisory Observatory. Prophetic.

After Argtardia collapses for the third time this century (I give it about 10-15 years after the current lollercaust plays out), the Falklands will probably end up divvying Tierra del Fuego up with Chile.

Thanks for the fail, Argtards :)

You can change your maps, you can change your bank-notes, you can change the signage on buses and trains, what the hell you can even change the 'colouring-in books' in the Primary schools...

    ...but you can't change facts.

I am happy the Argentines keep lying to themselves. Just makes them look more stupid and inept in the eyes of the world.

Trouble is, the younger generation is internet-savvy and keen to mix in the global community.
Let's hope they can see these lies for what they are.

    Correct maps would say:

    Falkland Islands (U.K.)
    South Georgia Islands (U.K)
    Uruguay (Republica Oriental del Uruguay)
    Cabo de Hornos (Chile)
    Antarctica (Argentina)

    ...yes, we know it's you.

Good try at a face-saving compromise on your part.

You have only acknowledged what is true legally and historically - Falklands and South Georgia Islands are British.

However, Antarctica has multiple claims, most notably by Chile and the UK.

Argentina is only one claimant - a tenuous one at best.

Please try to be more accurate.

    @15

That's exactly what everyone wants you to keep thinking. Don't learn any languages, trust us. hahahaha.

    @13

    Let me be more accurate.

The UK has no claim whatsoever to Antarctica. “Discovery” rights are ludicrous, first of all you would have to prove you did discover it first, and that not only would bring a challenge from the Dutch and Portuguese, but also how could you prove the Indians didn't discover it first? Or any prior culture? Any court would dismiss such a “he said” (without a “she said”), immediately.

The only other possible leg is “claim date”, that is sighted as the UK's strong card. Claims mean nothing, and Argentina's claim of the Falklands would immediately be invoked, ironically AGAINST the UK. Anyone can claim whatever they want whenever they want, it means close to nothing in real terms.

Meanwhile Argentina has physical and historical facts: longest UNINTERRUPTED presence, over any country on Earth. 1906 and on. Everyone else left, we stayed. Strong stuff.

First nation to set up permanently habituated stations. Mighty strong case.

First nation to have a citizen born there, a true Antarctican. Devastating.

Only nation (with Chile), who can prove geological contiguity with the Antarctic. No other nations have their territories physically influenced by Antarctica.

So any court case would see Argentina winning in a landslide, so I'm not worried about that.

I do worry about the UK as usual resorting to theft, plundering, deceit, lies, and murder to take it over. Since the UK has no respect for any laws or anyone, it is clearly a threat.

    17 snotty

    And history repeats itself.

Argentina wanted British islands in Antarctica, the British wouldn't give them up.

When Britain was busy fighting Peron's fascist pals, Argentina took the opportunity to steal them,

”In 1906, Argentina communicated to the international community the establishment of a permanent base on South Orkney Islands. However, Haggard responded by reminding Argentina that the South Orkneys were British. The British position was that Argentine personnel was granted permission only for the period of one year. The Argentine government entered into negotiations with the British in 1913 over the possible transfer of the island. Although these talks were unsuccessful, Argentina attempted to unilaterally establish their sovereignty with the erection of markers, national flags and other symbols. [16] Finally, with British attention elsewhere, Argentina declared the establishment of Argentine Antarctica in 1943, claiming territory that overlapped with British ( 20°W to 80°W) and the earlier Chilean (53°W to 90°W) claims.

In response to this and earlier German explorations, the British Admiralty and Colonial Office launched Operation Tabarin in 1943 to reassert British territorial claims against Argentine and Chilean incursion and establish a permanent British presence in the Antarctic.[17] The move was also motivated by concerns within the Foreign Office about the direction of United States post-war activity in the region.”

    Sound familiar?

    http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Territorial_claims_in_Antarctica

As to Nostril's current claims - the Treaty they signed in 1959 states that the status of competing claims of signatories during that time will not alter.

Argentina has made a claim overlapping the previous Chilesn and British claims - and there it stays.

    Sound familiar?

Such a pointless idea, which borders insanity.

Argentina has a claim over a part of Antartica, probably a good one, but nothing else. And frankly, I hope they never cancel the Treaty, which is working pretty well down there.

But when it comes to the FI ... they are not ours ! and to be honest, I don´t think they have ever being. So by including them in our maps or province flags we are telling the world how immature we still are. By following that logic, we could include the whole world in our flag and claim it belongs to Argentina ... :/

Besides, can you imagine a peronist-ruled FI? full of `villas´, poverty, drug dealing, corruption, unemployment, rich unionist leading poor workers, high taxes and no services in return ... well, they would be like Argentina, basically.
No wonder why they want nothing to do with us.

“...the mandatory use of all this information and maps at all levels of Argentina's education system...”

That's the bit that disgusts me. Not content with trying to tell the Malvinas Lie to the world, they lie to their children about the Falklands, encouraging them to think of the Islanders as squatters on their land, which isn't true.

I'd bet that their cowardly education policies refer to the illegal invasion of 1982 as a “liberation”, rather than the actual liberation that followed.

They deliberately hoodwink their children to keep the hate alive for another generation. Any reasonable person would be disgusted.

    @36:

“it seems that you are one of those who thinks that the mere fact of squatting a house, an island, whatever, makes you the owner of the good.”

No. In fact, the squatters on the Falklands were evicted in 1833 by the legitimate holders of sovereignty. The civilians were invited to stay and the majority did.

The current inhabitants are descended from those who stayed with the permission and blessing of the legitimate holders of sovereignty. That makes them the legitimate inhabitants of the Falklands.

All of your bleating about “implanted” “squatters” and so on are just lies, invented in a craven attempt to deny the Islanders their rights.

while england was committing the irish genocide, that they graciously call famine, argentina was receiving immigrants from the whole world, ireland included, to give them work and home.

while the yanks were killing 3/4 parts of the aboriginal population, rosas launched the first vaccination campaign for the aborigines in argentina.

while the yanks, along with the english exploited the slave trade, argentina abolished slavery.

while the spanish created the first universities in the americas, san marcos and santo tomás de aquino, the english established one of the most brutal regimes of the new world.

now, you can understand why the fuck they are a so ignorant, racist and ultra violent society.

    @52 paulcedron

Once again you are spouting racist rubbish.

Firstly the English didn't committ genocide in Ireland, there was a famine, and you also conveniently ignore that there was a similar famine in England at the time which saw thousands of men, women and children starve to death.

What is Argentina's excuse for native amerindians starving to death here and now in the 21st century?

I have looked and can't find 1 reference to Rosas organising a vaccination campaign for native amerindians. I can find lots of references to him committing acts of genocide against them though.

Argentina exploited the slave trade like everyone else. In fact you had as many, if not more, African slaves as Brazil did. Yet while the population of Brazil is more than 40% of African decent, there are hardly any (probably doesn't even make it to 1%) of Argentinians of African decent.

I wonder what happened to them all? And the reason all these countries eventually 'abolished' the slave trade was because the British Empire cut off their supply of slaves, because the we abolished the slave trade, and by extension slavery long before any other European country or American country did.

Argentina didn't abolish the slave trade, you just arranged to have all your slaves 'disappeared'. Sound familiar?

The Spanish may have created a university, but they, along with the Catholic Church, were responsible for acts of genocide that are truly staggering, and certainly makes anything done by the British pale in comparison. And then you Argentines went and carried on with the genocide after your 'independence', didn't you?

The reason no blacks are killed in Argentina these days, is because Roasa ensured that none of your ex-slaves survived to sully his 'whitening' policy.

No matter how many fake maps your country makes it will always be a loser and a laughing stock.

Oh, I saw a Spanish globe for sale today, it said Falkland Islands (UK), on it. No mention of the mythical malvinas.

I can't image how stupid an Irish immigrant could be to choose a Spanish speaking 3rd world sh@thole run by the mafia over the USA.
That's a special kind of retard.
That's where it all his problems start...

Well, we can afford to “have a laugh” about it, we’re the ones who control all that territory in the S. Atlantic/Antarctic.

With no prospect of that changing any time soon.

    It’s a good feeling.

It is amazing how few Argentinians or other South Americans will admit or claim Spanish ancestry. It is as if they have all accepted the nation building brainwashing of their post colonial governments that the Spanish did all the evil things in South America and that all problems can be related to them as foreign occupiers. That the new countries that emerged from the Spanish Empire were somehow socially, politically and now genetically separate from the Spain.

Brasileiro claims to be either blonde with German ancestry or as today he claimed that he is black - hard to keep up with that group.
Nostrils claims to have Piedmontese ancestry but this has morphed into a singular new race that is shared by no one else.
Paul now has Irish ancestry and not much else.
Think.... well who knows but he has never claimed Spanish ancestry.

Indeed I have never seen a single Latin American on this site claim to have Spanish ancestry. So where did all the Spanish colonists go?

Funnily enough I will happily and proudly proclaim that I have Spanish ancestry. It is the reason my mother and brother have dark hair and eyes and a more olive complexion. I and my older brother, on the other hand, seemed to get dealt the Danish side of the family tree with blonde hair and blue eyes. Though the beard I now have has a touch of ging so that could probably be down to the Ayrshire part of the family tree. Or the Irish part.

Seems I am more Spanish than all these Spanish speakers on here.

    Funny how the world works.

it is very funny to read the posts of these ignorant, not too bright, bennys.
most of all when they pretend to be american, english, canadian, whatever except what they really are.
    massive inferiority complex they have.

and it is more than clear that the poor bastards have never left pork stanley in their puta vida.
otherwise they should know that the u.s. is one of the most inequitable countries of the world.

maybe these twats think that the whole usa is like manhattan, when in fact you will find dozens of thousands of obamavilles scattered around the whole fucking country, plus detroit, the only bankrupt city in the world, which is like a giant shantytown, plus the highest criminal rate of the world, between other jewels.

as for denying spanish ancestry, i guess that nobody who has spanish ancestry would deny it.
    the problem is english ancestry.
you know, they are known for being the ugliest people on earth, the fattest, the drunkest and the dirtiest.

not by chance the are rejected in the whole fucking world.

“So the Argentina classes the Falkland Islands as a political division of Terra Del Fuego-so how many Argentine 'political' candidates are put up for election in Falkland Island elections?”

    Good point Pete.

How much will be spent on Political Candidates without portfolios??

How much are they paying Filmus to publicly humiliate himself on the world stage.

How much of a 'bone' are they throwing Alejandro Betts??

How much did the “Malvinas Museum” cost??

How much for the signs, statues, plaques, the whole disinformation campaign across Argentina??

How about the multiple annual junkets for the entire Malvinas dog & pony show to the UN or whatever venue doesn't toss them out on their rears... ??

Tell us how much, Pablo - gotta be worth quite a few CT Scanners for all the rural communities in Patagonia that can't afford one!!

Ooh I forgot my English ancestry.

Anyway, yes Troy. How long before they start having sitting members of parliament representing the islands?

Both at a provinical and national level.

They can be specially voted in or nominated or awarded I'm sure. Alejandro Betts would love that wouldn't he.

We could call it the Constituency of Quisling.

Paul, You come from very bad stock. Your grandfather had to be one of the stupidest Irishmen to leave the country. There's no way for you to overcome your bad genetics.
    I am sorry.
I would say you should try and immigrate to the USA through Mexico but I'm afraid your genetics preclude you from ever being successful in the USA.
    I am sorry.

Sorry loser, my family made the right choice in 1635 and went to the Colony of Massachusetts. Since then we've founded colleges, served in the highest reaches of State and Federal gov't, owned countless companies, founded numerous town/cities across the USA, more and more and more.

What have your bad genes done? My guess is you've moved down the human advancement scale like your country in general. Getting poorer and dumber with every generation. Which where you started may be statistically impossible.
But I bet you did it anyway.

I have been to the Falklands and found it lovely. Clean, safe, nice people, everything Argentina is not.

You really should find a nice USA guy to take you. Making 5500 pesos a month it will take you a decade to afford a plane ticket.

Thank goodness Rgs can't come to the USA any longer. I am glad we revoked the visa waiver in 2001.
I heard from a friend he was shocked at how dirty, dangerous and run down Buenos Aries has become in the last 5 years. Absolutely shocked.

Me da trizteza pensar que se sientan Ingleses aun haber nacido tan lejos de su tierra como dicen, piensen en tener mejor relación con Argentina, pronto necesitaran ayuda del continente, y nosotros desde aqui se las brindaremos de corazon.

I'm going to try the argy method of claiming a house and some fields down the road because my family once walked across them with permission from the landowners (when I have plenty here of my own) by putting them on a map and sending it to the Land Registry.

If they don't cede it to me, I'm going to get a load of mates to write letters to the papers saying that I should own it.

In reality, I'll just try and ensure my property is run as well as I can, without worrying about other people's.
