What do they expect when they took 100s of Billions U$ of wealth out of PBR? Its pretty hard to upgrade or do anything without cash. Now they've ruined, possibly for good one of their best national companies and thrown their oil/gas industry into reverse. Who knows when it will get worked out. Surely not soon enough.

Austerity Measures in Brazil?
Chickens coming home to roost.
Have they run out of spending other people's money?
Tough times ahead. Shame so much was stolen and not reinvested. Greedy corrupt 'socialists' robbing their own people as usual.
There is corruption in every country in the world.
Apr 09th, 2015 - 01:59 pm - Link - Report abuse 0With a very important detail: in Brazil corruption happens in retail and is being fought. Successfully! In the United States corruption is mostly wholesale and is not managed.
Maybe that's why the last ten years the United States was where there was the greatest deterioration in income distribution rates in the world.
Skip. Please ignore my earlier comment. I mis-read your post. Apologies.

Brasso, you really shouldn't post that when most of your Government and your largest nationalised industry is being investigated for fraud and corruption.
How is that not wholesale?
You have no 'important points' to make.
Really, you are a disgrace to the human race.

Apr 09th, 2015 - 02:26 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Brasso, I am rarely wrong. PBR is hanging on by its fingernails. Most likely their bonds will be called and Fraud charges will be leveled.
What these SoAms nationalists never seem to understand is that these troubles are just the beginning of what's to come.
They're no way near done.
PBR just announced today that they are giving up 5 drills because of the Fraud.
Just the beginning

Apr 10th, 2015 - 01:38 am - Link - Report abuse 0You really need to learn about US investment in Brazil, and about contracts underwritten in the USA before you post such ignorant comments such as United States does not represent absolutely nothing for us
The USA has great influence in your economic sphere, and your economic well-being.
Truly, if you expelled all US companies from Brazil, and ceased trading with the US completely, your economy would collapse overnight.
Thanks Brasileiro.
