Hundreds of thousands of Brazilians took to the streets on Sunday, venting anger over government corruption and a souring economy a month after protests gathered more than a million people. With cries of Dilma out and corrupt government, marchers -- many wearing the yellow and green jerseys of the national football team -- called for President Dilma Rousseff's ouster and an end to impunity for corruption. Disclaimer & comment rulesWhat protest? I think you are dreaming. Call a handful of protesters spread across 5600 municipalities in Brazil is being extremely generous with the organizers of such events, where its leaders are CIA agents, such as such Rogerio Chequer, responsible for the site vemprarua that lends itself to destabilize the government Brazilian labor.

We should have a professional counterintelligence service and well trained. This help has been offered by Russia. What are we waiting to accept?
The anti-government protests were a general failure. And Dilma want to travel to the USA? Nothing that can come from the United States is good for Brazil.

Brazil boy,
Apr 13th, 2015 - 12:14 pm - Link - Report abuse 0EVERY news organization is reporting that hundreds of thousands of protesters were in the streets Sunday, venting anger over government corruption. Roughly 80% of the populace think Lula's Workers Party is responsible and are calling for Dilma Rousseff's ouster.
Socialists are hypocritical thieves and both Lula and Dilma deserve prison time.

@1. Seems you're part of a minority, Brasso. Seems like more than 60% of those in a Folha de S.Paulo survey support Rousseff's impeachment. Heard about democracy yet? Seems to me highly likely that Srr Lulu Wunderful is also as bent as nine bob note. Always was suspicious of a politician that popular! You know how it works. Always responsible for everything popular. Everything else, he 'didn't know about'. Now, who would be responsible for 'deciding' whether Dilma and Lulu should be investigated?

You're just a babarca in a cheap suit. Brazil thinking it will control the market, it just will send Brazil further down the plug hole in a globalized world. All the Brazilian consumer deserves is access to cheaper goods and services instead of the idiot ruling politicians who talk through a hole in their arse. PT party is a disgrace, Dilma should resign. Lock Lula up.
Brazil boy is hiding with his tail between his legs because the overwhelming evidence is that his glorious Worker's Party is a vile and corrupt nest of thieves.
Apr 13th, 2015 - 02:13 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I've enjoyed Brazil many times and like the people, but their hypocritical socialist government is robbing the poor that they pretend to represent.
The international press, INCLUDING Pravda and Xinhua are all condemning Dilma as being corrupt. In a Wall Street Journal opinion below, she's clearly responsible for stealing the last election.
http://www.wsj.com/articles/an-escalating-corruption-scandal-rocks-brazil-1428876380
Lula's Political machine is estimated stealing over 50 BILLION dollars a year!

Brazil boy needs to crawl back under his rock where he came from and keep his mouth shut. Just imagine what Brazil could be if they eliminated their corrupt Lula led politicians.

In this article from wikipedia, we can see the 'powers' of the president of Brazil.

And Lulu didn't know what was going on? A guy 'responsible' for vetoing bills, concluding treaties, declaring war, rendering accounts. Perfect position for a crook. Al Capone was also very popular.
Take him and Brasso out and shoot both at the same time.
TILINGUERIA EVERYWHERE.
Apr 13th, 2015 - 03:51 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Some of us use the word tilingueria, in order to refer to a sector of our society, which repeats the slogans of the mediatic operations from hegemonical press, and who ask for c. f. k's dimission. They are social actors, who hate poor pople mostly, and who consider like ignorants all those who vote for c. f. k., p.s.u.v, p.t or for any other progressive government.
I don't ignore the serious difficulties that brasilian economy is going through, in fact, i think that dilma is braking with some of her electoral promesses.
I am not criticising the legitimate right of the brasilians to protest against their president, what actualy bothers me, is to see a lot of reactionaries who ask for dilma's renounce, or who want a military intervention.
Its' evident that those cretins haven't learnt yet what democracy is, like them or not, she was chosen to rule the nation untill january first of 2019.
On other hand, some people insist on committing two idiot mistakes. The firts one, is to consider that huge marches, mean the end of a government.
In 2012 and 2013, c. f. k.'s government had very big marches against her administration in the main cities from the country, however in the legislative election of 2013, her party was the most voted from argentina.
It's well known that not many governments around the world can have the privilege of remaining as the main political force of a nation, after having ruled a country for a decade.
The other stupid mistake, is to believe in polls, we all know that many of them are distorted on behalf of those who pay for them, especially if they come from hegemonical press, or from politicians.
The truth will be in the result of the elections, and it's only one thing that matters. In the case of arg., it will be in october of this year, and in the case of brasil, everybody won't have anyother alternative than waiting untill 2018.

Apr 13th, 2015 - 03:59 pm - Link - Report abuse 0What do you expect from an ignorant blind delusional socialist that's been brainwashed by Lula's political machine. Maybe his country could be improved from the other BRIC nations: Russia as he suggests, could retrain Brazil's intelligence agency. China could assist Brazil in improving its free democracy and adopting to India's model of social equality...
He certainly would not want his country to be tainted by the evils of the European Union, NAFTA or anything to do with free trade....

Apr 13th, 2015 - 06:27 pm - Link - Report abuse 0In the civilised world, a government can be defeated by a non-confidence vote, suspending Parliament, and sending the country to a new election- it works well, without tossing out an elected official.
It is an opportunity for them to address the problem and validate their course of action with an endorsement from the voters- or not.
The Governor General has the power in extreme cases, to petogue Parliament and call an election- but again, that means taking it back to the people in a legal regulated process.
Sounds better than a Republic ruling by decree or a bloody revolution, right?

Apr 13th, 2015 - 07:23 pm - Link - Report abuse 0wrong blog mate,
out of interest, how long as this Brazilian leader got go.
In true democratic countries constitutions, including Brazil's, there are provisions for removing their head of state. Impeachment is normally avoided as standing presidents normally resign (such as Nixon did). Since Dilma won her mandate by only 3% and her current polling shows an overwhelming percentage against her, we could see her resign for personal reasons if the protests continue. In any case she's lost the hearts and minds of the people.

Other than screwing up our economy a bit and making promises there's no way she can afford, we're still far better off than the rest of our Latin brothers. @Chicureo. Dismantled institutions in Argentina that lead to anarchy. Disasterous for a variety of Chilean firms, Cencosud one example. The bigger picture is how mercosur is entrenched with China. I don't see the andes as shielding Chile from economic collapse. An overwhelming amount of Brazilian tourists kept the ski slopes and much of this country in Business. Watch how that plummets this winter. The Argentine peso is massively overvalued. Watch the Chilean peso plummet with its devaluation and a real emerging market crisis unfold. As Yankeeboy brought up China. I guarantee you the Chinese rushing to buy stocks now don't know squat about Venezuela and Argentina. CFK obviously screwed the Chinese worse than her own people. The people's republic of organ and baby harvesting. Chilean shares are rallying with China, but I would argue that the end of Cristina's mandato, when the real results are in is a horrendous day financially in Santiago. This snowball grows every day I hope to toast champagne when there's a payout for short sellers. YPF is looted and Bachelet's stimulus is absolute insanity/theft via the central bank. We're seeing austerity right now for a lot of government contracts and scholarships. Even if she's ousted within the year...a lot of damage is already being done. Taking refuge with the billionaires in the right? Matthei herself said everyone wants to govern when copper is high. That explains why she carried on as bitch number 1 leading up to her selection for candidate. The tough love that nobody wanted to listen to. Now the teary eyed concerned mother.

@25 Argentina belonging to China? That's over a lot of dead bodies. I think they're going to be done bending over for China shortly. Look at CFKs plummeting approval.

Matthei would have been blamed for everything and I'm glad she was spared the low copper price cycle. Paulman of Centosud will weather the storm, trust me. So will our economy and our Peso will float to the correct level.
New investment however is a concern, but that's Gordi's fault.

Your 'evidence' is shit written by Tijolaço, a leftist-oriented rag edited by Fernando Brito, a confessed communist who worked for Leonel Brizola , from the early 80's until the idiot died, and then later for Brizola Neto, until being sacked a couple of years ago.....so then back he goes to editing this piece of shit called Tijolaço .....your sources of information are very biased, and poor in content....but then again, compatible with your lack of intelligence...
And to call the Captain @#2, 'pale face' says quite a lot about you...already suspected it, as it oozes out of your rotten pores....

Apr 14th, 2015 - 08:44 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I came to really understand the extent of Brazilian political corruption a few years ago when I was in Petrolina and crossing the São Francisco River over to Juazeiro. The locals explained that the Workers Party completely controlled the Bahia state and that funds for infrastructure were routinely stolen. Many of the roads in the state were nearly impassable. Funds for social programs were diverted as well. Schools, hospitals, etc...
Poverty in the noreste of Brazil is depressing, especially when you learn that funds allocated to hep the poor are stolen by the socialists that claim to be on their side.
@32 Chicureo
Apr 15th, 2015 - 05:35 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You are 100% right.....Brazilian politicians have always been easily seduced by corruption, the PT did not invent it, but they took it to a new, unprecedented level....they implemented it in all sectors and all levels of government where they have influence, in every state-run company...it has become so widespread, it is virtually impossible to end it.
